You've done it again hippo, amazed me I mean. You're mods don't just fit with survival, they take it's essence and enhance it almost like they're official expansions or updates. Even in a very early version, it is a very high quality mod.
I suggest making the sea monster much bigger, so if you were to add in sharks, they would be able to be a realistic size and still be in the shadow of the "Leviathan". Buff the health a good bit too, as 5 hearts more than the player isn't that intimidating. Maybe even add a hydration system for adding sub-aquatic creatures like crocodiles or giant salamanders...lava sea salamanders...yeah. The mobs would have submerge every so often or they take damage, and will go into the water so they don't die. The fish could swim in schools, and swim away from predators and players, as to make the hunting more amusing to watch. The fore-mentioned crocodiles or amphibians could also live in rivers or lakes. So many suggestions in my brain but I've said enough >_<.

GENERATION 27: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
This is a good mod with good potential even beyond what you have now.
I love it.
Would you add a server config option to prevent hostile mobs from attacking players unless they are attacked by a player?
It is a good config option if we are trying to have a fairly peaceful server but still have interesting waters. So a serpent would do everything normal except he would not target a player unless a player attacks it, then that one serpent would be switched to normal hostile mob against all players. I would very much like this option.
It would also be good to have all creatures drop something. Perhaps at least 1 out of 3 times you kill them? Even only partly useful items such as a bone, seaweed, or some regular uncooked fish for food. perhaps an odd item of interest on a rare occasion. Just an idea.
Perhaps seaweed could be a 1/2 heart food for the desparate. Does seaweed grow? how tall in water?

Question: Do the creatures de-spawn? if so how?
(I love this mod)
Your second point first...Hippo stated he was still working on the mod and plans to add drops to them later.
If you are in peaceful mode unless he has done something different, hostile mobs would not spawn, that makes sense, no config to make hostile non hostile, that would be like "can you make zombies appear but only attack if attacked."
that would be like "can you make zombies appear but only attack if attacked."
yes. i like seeing serpents. so yes it would be. and incidentally i don't like seeing zombies. also I don't mind being in normal mode but I still like having a peaceful river and ocean.

Thanks Yeah this serpent was kind of a test serpent for me to make sure I could make serpents at all. Now i can solidify the code and all

Hmm I understand your concern. It's an odd thing to do, but I'll see. Still working on drops, so i'll probably add something eventually. Seaweed does grow up to four blocks, and then shrinks back to 1 or 2, and then grows again The creatures despawn unless tamed, and currently only seahorses are tameable
I just wanted to say those models are insane. The seahorses are amazing. Is there away to make the seaweed grow in already loaded chunks? Like how some mods can generate ores in loaded chunks or respawn ores. Thanks so much for this mod.
Is this compatible with the Mo' Creatures mod? I am using that mainly for the land animals. I noticed that this one actually has the fish appearing in all bodies of water which is waaaaay nicer.
oh, ok! i was searching for krakens when i found it! :I
Understandable, many artists nowadays portray Krakens as any kind of large, eldritch sea monster (Mostly because of Clash of the Titans). I suppose Hippomaster will implement the kraken any way he feels is best.
So this is the "other project" you were working on Prof. Sneaky sneaky. I should've known right away when I saw how smoothly the Serpent moved that you were behind this. Excellent work, I must say. I like the above idea of adding the Kraken in some way, but I suppose you've already thought of that at some point. I can only imagine how incredible those tentacles will look once you're though with them.
On a different note, ThnxCya actually did a mod review of this recently. You might want to slap that in the OP.

I will not be making money off them and will give proper credit.
Thanks

Second: Just don't get overwhelmed by all the requests from people. Just work on bugs and slowly make it awesome!
Third: Another person that has made a mod spotlight is Thnx Cya. You might wanna add his spotlight to your post.
Um... Krakens are squid creatures. That looks like some kind of lamprey.
