Hey everyone, my name is RafaMv and the mod I've worked on is almost done. So why not release a demo version right now!? Then, I can hear suggestions/opinions and enhance the final result.
This mod is called Fossil Hunting (minecraft 1.7.2 + forge), and it gives to Minecraft all you need for a realistic experience as a fossil hunter! Preparation, exploration, gathering, cleaning, and displaying are some features of this mod.
Recipes and other information can be found in the WIKI.
Fossils:
This is just the beginning. I am planning on doubling the number of fossils until release.
List of current fossils:
- Ankylosaurus magniventris skeleton;
- Compsognathus longipes skeleton;
- Coroniceras rotiforme shell;
- Plesiosaurus dolichodeirus skeleton;
- Stegosaurus armatus skeleton;
- Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton;
- Velociraptor mongoliensis skeleton.

Installation instructions:
1. Download Minecraft Forge 1.7.2 installer;
2. Run the installer and direct it to your .minecraft folder;
3. Launch Minecraft, open your profile and select the forge version as your Minecraft version, run it at least once and close MC;
4. Go to your (%appdata%) .minecraft folder and drop the mod into the mods folder;
5. Run Minecraft again and select your modded profile;

Yes, DelphinusWolf, there will be an update, probably in the next 2 months. I appreciated your youtube video! By the way, you forgot to right-click the fossil to see what it is... I mean, how old it is, size, etc. I'm planning to implement some sort of gold sign which will allow to see this information much better. And indeed, the barrel is a little glitch, but it is working at least. I will probably change its look though.
This is not the final result... I have to polish some textures, mechanics, and, of course, add more fossils! This is just a beginning, and I really want some feedback from you guys!
Wow, this mod is pretty awesome! Although my only complaint is that the graphics could be more Minecraftish.

Gotta wrap the fossil in plaster and bandage before mining them.
