Ooh bugs! Can I squish them?! I can't wait. My brother even commented about how much better the Terraria rain is compared to the vanilla Minecraft rain. And I dont care WHAT people say, I am going to STAY with 1.6.4. He is my friend.
Does this help with lag? With normal rain I get terrible lag so I just use "/weather clear". I'd like to have rain sometimes though if there wasn't lag
Hey!
I like your mod, that's what many people wanted! But also I have some problems now.
In 0.12 Minecraft said "Preparing the spawn area XX%", and stopped. No crash, nothing, just throw me back to main menu, and I can't even quit, because it's just trying to stop server. Now, in 0.14 it happened again. In new worlds, re-created worlds, everywhere.
The next thing is I'd like to use your mod with Localized Weather, but the smaller problem is that raindrops became the original (LW make it's own I think, it may can be solved at both of your sides). The bigger one is when I call a storm, sometimes Minecraft crashes. As I can start single player, I'll show crashlog if you'd like.
I think these were my problems for today.
Any idea, suggestion? Thank you!
Thanks for acknowledging all my grievances with Minecraft rain. It's the only thing that makes me regret not building on a glacier (well okay, that and the snow just looks awesome when it's falling .. but I really don't want to build on a glacier).
I don't suppose you would be willing to make the source code available for this? I'm concerned about the lack of movement on the issues reported above, but I'd love to use this on my server.
Do you have a github for posting issues and checking code?
I get this in the fml-client-latest.log:

It doesn't seem to be affecting the mod... but maybe it is an accident waiting to happen? Forge 1208, BetterRain 0.14
Hello my dear Minecrafters! First of all, I'm giving you my biggest apologies for the inactivity. I've been very busy with school and stuff, so I haven't been able to update my mod, nor answer your questions and issues. I am hoping I can have a little more time the next days to comment on your replies and update my mod. I'm hoping I can release a more stable update possibly today or maybe tomorrow. I'll get rid of the bugs you guys have told me about, and possibly just make it a little bit more efficient.
Thank you all for your patience and hope you can forgive my inactivity.
I must agree studies are important. I'm happy you guys like the mod, and are patient enough to wait so long for a new version. The new release will be much more stable, which means few bugs. I've managed to fix the sound a bit, as the sound would be very buggy upon opening/closing inventory or chat. This is still an issue, but it's a good as gone (unless you try to make it happen). I hope of all my heart you guys will like the new update. The next few days I will be able to answer questions and update my mod if new bugs appear.
Okay this may be a derp question, but how is this installed? There are two jars inside the zip... does this get upzipped and each placed in the mods folder? Does it stay zipped? Is the core jar for servers and the other for clients? Of the hundreds of mods I have installed, this is the only one I have come across with multiple jars and no install instructions...
McyD - Unzip it. Place both jars in the Mods folder in your client. You *can* put these mods in the server and it will sync with the clients, but it will also spam the server console with the letter "k". Right now I only run it in clients, until the author fixes the server side.
Having the same issue when I run it on the server... Any fix or workaround?

Doesn't seem to do anything and it doesn't get logged... but it sure is annoying in the console.
Ditto on this. Using it on a cauldron 1.7.10 server and it spams the console with "k"
One of my least favorite aspects of Minecraft was the rain because of how dark and loud it was!
Here ya go:
Hope you like the video! Thank you for such a great mod! =)
