the round trees are brilliant and amazing, but they create gaps in construction that looks weird and also you can see the ground without grass beneath them. a fix to this would be to make their models larger than a normal minecraft block. i don't know if it's possible, but even with clipping i would prefer that to the smaller round logs because it would make my log cabins look sooooo good.
Just some minor bugfixes this time. I could have released this weeks ago, but I always thought I would have the time to add some more "meat" to the release... sorry. Please bear with me.
@JonnyBrando: thanks again for your textures, this release includes them.

This happens with the full log block, where every side is the texture of bark.
The block is commonly used in most rock/tree packs, and I'd love to have rounded logs without having to world edit out every single full log block into just regular logs. Also, not sure if this is Better Foliage or Optifine, or the combination of both, but in just the default texture pack this happens:
I guess this is 1.8 and you use a resource pack? That's the only reason I can think of off the top of my head.
In 1.8 Round Logs only work for blocks which extend Minecraft's "column" model, which have "side" and "end" textures. If a resource pack uses a completely unrelated block model, Round Logs won't work.
If you tell me the name of the pack, I'll check out how best to support it.
As I explain in my previous message that no one has to pay attention to are the blocks with the following id:
17:12/13/14/15 162:12/13
Unfortunately I am not able to add them to the blacklist
I still don't get what you are trying to achieve. Also, bear in mind that you can't white/blacklist based on id:meta values, only by the Java class of the blocks - and it will apply to its descendants as well. If you blacklist vanilla Logs, pretty much no logs will work. You could just as well disable the feature.

The problem should be fixed, with grass showing under Round Logs if there are any Grass blocks neighboring the Dirt underneath - just as it is in BF 1.0.x (MC 1.7)

Your Optifine may be too old. Try updating it to the latest, and see if it solves the problem.
If not, I'll need a mod list (and maybe a screenshot).

Well, something like that. Better Foliage draws a LOT of stuff to the screen, and the crash log shows you ran out of memory.
I'm not sure whether it's video or JVM RAM (I think the latter), but you could try giving more memory to Minecraft and/or decreasing the draw distance. That should solve your problem.

ok so im using OptiFine_1.7.10_HD_U_C1 which i beleive is the latest and apart from writing every mod down is there an easier way to make a mod list theres almost 200 of them?
edit
ive tried without optifine/fastcraft/better fps and still get same issue
Erm, that looks completely identical to an optifine bug I used to get, so I feel compelled ask a really simple question. There are no instances of Optifine in your mods or Jarmods folder, correct? Assuming that that's not the issue though, are there any other graphics or system-enhancing mods installed?
As for making a mod-list, I don't know of a normal way, but you can set to mod folder to full screen, set it to show by "small icons" or "list", hit the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard, and paste that into paint. On my computer that gives a screenshot of a bit over 200 mods, though the number may change based on some of your comp's settings.

For those who don't mind a bit of reading, I've been writing mod examinations on Hubpages under the name Cliffwalker. So far I've done full articles for several mods, including the likes of Witchery,Enviromine, andLycanite's Mobs, and I have also written a few multi-mod articles to help those who wish to find upgrades for a specific aspect of their game, such as the Nether.
i noticed that sometimes on the latest version for 1.8 the blocks under the logs became invisible i think that this has something to do with grass under the logs
It would be nice to be able to choose on a per-case basis whether a log gets "rounded" or not. I'm just not sure how it would have to be done. The only way I can think of is to add a tool, for which an adze would be the obvious tool.
There's already an option to combine adjacent rounded logs (though having the chamfer size for combined and non-combined logs different leads to odd effects). Hypothetically, one could make log corners chamfered/"rounded" on a particular corner only if that corner is adjacent to ONLY air or dirt; though which blocks were checked would have to vary depending upon the orientation of the log, and elbow logs are still a problem that currently aren't handled at all, and people STILL might want it to behave differently case by case.
How feasible would it be to have broken/placed logs default to non-rounded, but create an adze tool to round particular edges or entire logs on demand? I'm not sure how you select a specific edge of a block though. A face is easy. An edge, not so much. Though I suppose the mod could look at where you're standing relative to the log and round the most directly facing corner ... but then what if you want to round a corner you can't easily get next to? Rounding the entire log would be fairly easy — make that the action if you just whack the face of a log with the adze. Or perhaps make it so that clicking a log anywhere with the adze rounds all the corners; can the mod tell if you've clicked near an edge? If so, right-clicking or shift-clicking near an edge with the adze could round or un-round the closest edge...?
What chamfer and connected chamfer values come up with the roundest possible log?

Octarine, I've just started playing again after a long break. I'm using BetterFoliage-mc1.7-1.0.13.jar, and it seems the glitch where blocks with Better Leaves become miscolored while breaking has returned at some point. I linked the original report from about a year ago below; blocks are behaving the exact same way again.
I'm using the latest version, and I get some weird graphical issues whenever I have the Short Grass turned on. When I break grass blocks, the side grass texture (and possibly the top) gets very off-colored. This does not seem to happen 100% of the time, but the majority of blocks seem to be affected. This happens to a lesser extent with leaves. This only happens on the grass blocks and only when grass portion on the mod is enabled. Here are some screenshots showing what I'm talking about.
I'm looking to add the Terrafirmacraft logs to have them be rounded, yet it doesn't seem to be working. According to NEI, the unlocalized name is "tile.log.Pine", yet this does not appear to effect the rendering of pine logs at all. Could anyone perhaps help me with this issue?
I just noticed a rather weird problem with your mod. I'm running Better Foliage, OptiFine_1.8.0_HD_U_D5 and liteloader 1.8 with voxelmap.
Anyway, the problem is thus. When there's dirt underneath of an oak log, it becomes invisible, almost like an x-ray. Is this something you've seen
before and perhaps know how to fix in the settings?
Well there's your problem already, better foliage and optifine don't like to get along most of the time

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy forever.
Usually using Steam/Discord nowadays, mostly actively searching around on curseforge for new mods.
Games on steam are usually Spiral Knights, TF2, SFM, and Paladins nowadays
I occasionally hop on minecraft to see what's new.
I hate to shoot all kinds of holes into your theory there, but I just loaded up minecraft where only forge and better leaves and voxel map were running and got this. Yes, there's a dirt block under that log. So no, optifine isn't the issue here. Oh yeah, and I also made sure to only be running the default texture pack.

I'll do another bugfix release before the weekend to get these sorted out.
I know exactly what's wrong with the invisible block (it's not Optifine this time, my bad), and a pretty good guess where to look with the discoloration issue.

The block lists take the Java classes of the blocks, not the unlocalized name. This is in order to support inheritance, which makes things a lot easier. I'm planning to overhaul this sometime, but for now that's how it is.
Looking in the latest TerraFirmaCraft, there are two blocks you need to whitelist (letter case is important):
com.bioxx.tfc.Blocks.Flora.BlockLogVert
com.bioxx.tfc.Blocks.Flora.BlockLogNatural
I'll also add it to the defaults in the next release.

Thank you; hoever it seems the fix for TFC logs not being champfered correctly only partially. (some natural spawning logs have it, others don't, oak logs seem to be the only ones that rotate correctley)
I've got the discoloration issue for 1.7 also fixed, but I'm holding back on that for a little bit, to take a quick look at TerraFirmaCraft's log block rotation. If it's not too complicated, I'll throw that fix in too.

BetterFoliage (1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.8, 1.8.9, 1.9, 1.9.4, 1.10) - Leafier leaves and grassier grass
CartLivery (1.6.4, 1.7.x) - Pimp your minecarts
For modders: simpledeobf - get OptiFine in your dev environment
i already made that but it didnt solved my problem
So far I've done full articles for several mods, including the likes of Witchery, Enviromine, and Lycanite's Mobs, and I have also written a few multi-mod articles to help those who wish to find upgrades for a specific aspect of their game, such as the Nether.
In addition, fans of the old Myth games may want to check out my map of Myth's world.
i noticed that sometimes on the latest version for 1.8 the blocks under the logs became invisible i think that this has something to do with grass under the logs
Is there a way I can take away the rounded logs?Nevermind, I am a retard.
What chamfer and connected chamfer values come up with the roundest possible log?
I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

There are some pics attached to LePheel's post to illustrate the issue.
I'll also add it to the defaults in the next release.
BetterFoliage (1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.8, 1.8.9, 1.9, 1.9.4, 1.10) - Leafier leaves and grassier grass

For modders: simpledeobf - get OptiFine in your dev environment
Thank you; hoever it seems the fix for TFC logs not being champfered correctly only partially. (some natural spawning logs have it, others don't, oak logs seem to be the only ones that rotate correctley)
Version 1.1.7 (MC 1.8):
I've got the discoloration issue for 1.7 also fixed, but I'm holding back on that for a little bit, to take a quick look at TerraFirmaCraft's log block rotation. If it's not too complicated, I'll throw that fix in too.
