Hello Minecraft community! This is the Custom Things mod. This is a mod I made during my spare time. This mod requires Forge! You can download it from here.
What is the point of Custom Things?
The point of Custom Things is to have the things I felt like I wanted in the game to actually work and be implemented.
Did you actually code Custom Things?
No, it is not manually coded at all. This mod was all created with a program called MCreator. If you want to find this program you can get it from here.
Recipes forCustom Things?
I would recommend downloading NotEnoughItems or something else that can get recipes, but for people who don't want to do that, here are all the recipes.
Just take the .zip you downloaded in the Downloads tab and drag it into your mods folder! DO NOT EXTRACT IT.
Can I use Custom Things in my modpack?
Well, mods were meant to be played, right? You are indeed allowed to use this mod in any modpack, private or public. All you have to do is give credit to the author, me, Setho, and provide a link to this forum post. You may not make money off of my mod.
Explanation of items in Custom Things?
Mysterious Clock:
If you right-click this item it brings up a GUI in which you can bend time at will, making it night or day. Of course the recipe for the Mysterious Clock needs rare things like a Nether Star because of the fact you can bend time at will.
Useless Command Block:
It's not as useless as you think. When you craft the Useless Command Block it is automatically [Off]. You can switch it's state by supplying it with a redstone signal, turning it [On]. You can mine it in it's [On] state and it would be in that state unless powered then un-powered again.
This is my first publicly released mod and feedback would be much appreciated! I want this to be active. I know it might have been made with a MCreator, but just because I can't code doesn't mean I can't be creative. Please don't just say "I hate this mod." because it was made by MCreator. Don't judge a book by its cover.

What do the mysterious diary and clock do? That's something that you might want to put right on your page (You're new so I'm just suggesting things to help)

Of course! Some things just slip right through me. Thanks!
That would be great to code dude! You can add so many things to your game if you can code! I used to use Mcreator as a way to see how they code but I never actually used it! I think its quite limited though...
Also add that you require forge?
If you know how to use the little events in MCreator you could do some huge things. Though, it doesn't work as good as manual coding.

No prob man! I've been surfing these forums a while now and have seen some cool pages out here. I'm also trying to get into the modding scene, where are you learning from?

I started learning here:
but sadly, that ended around Part 29, so I have to find some new ones.
I stopped around the applet part because I don't really think that's applicable to Minecraft.

Yeah that wouldn't be too helpful haha Check out Udemy! they have all sorts of free courses. I have one for Java I'm taking, you might like it if you can deal with thick German accents haha

I am actually learning to code as of now, this is just a temporary thing, I hope.
