I'm using this mod to make an elevator. However, CC says I need 11000 RF to move the elevator, while the carriage controller only stores 10000 RF. Am I doing something wrong? How can I get around this?
I'm considering using this mod because it works. I tried using "Framez", but there isn't any documentation of how it is supposed to work, or even a tutorial video - the closest thing to a tutorial is someone showing off their rotating doors made with it, and only demonstrating it working and not actually showing us how. The best feature of Redstone In Motion or Remain In Motion is the carriage motor which moves itself with the carriage
However, the last time I tried to use this mod, there was a serious problem where all carriage connected multipart blocks were deleted occasionally (redstone wires, timers, toggle latches, ThermalExpansion2 ducts, etc.). I'm pretty sure that was with 1.6.4, because in 1.7.10 TE2 ducts are no longer multipart.
Has the issue been discovered and fixed, or should I keep trying to figure out how to use "framez"?
I'm going to install this mod and try to use it for my automated railway bridge builder, and maybe someday build a "frame mining-bore" that consumes a 16x32 slice of chunk whenever it moves
You got me motivated enough to see if 1.10 was worth caring about. The answer was no. They are just stealing more and more mods, doing them *insert profanity for not well here*, and not and solving any of problems minecraft has faced since birth. 1.7 was a great update. 1.8 had potential, but had too many technical drawbacks that made modders not want to update. In 1.9, we were hoping they would expand and improve the nice back end work that almost made 1.8 worth it. 1.9 was the biggest disappointment I've had with minecraft since I started playing and modding it 5 years ago. They added literally nothing cool and ruined everything else. 1.10...they added auto-jumping.... Like, really? You don't have the minimal skill to jump?
Edit: All but the first "you" was the ambiguous you, not directed at anyone.
Edit2: *was*? Everyone I know still uses 1.7.10, because there's no reason to update.
If a carriage contains the computer, the controller has to wait until the computer is in a safe state (that means not still running move()) to pick it up. If move() were to wait until the move finishes (and the move outcome becomes available) it would cause the game to freeze.
i have a bit of an issue with the lastest version. no carriages will accept rf, even though it says it can hold 10K rf. the guy above me, bauensch, says he got it to work if he placed it in survival mode, and that doesnt work. any ideas?
Yes and No. Moving static blocks like Movecraft and Archimede's Ships do is one thing, but mods such as Remain in Motion and Funky Locomotion focus on creating moving structures containing tile entities and what-not for a fully functional structure, with total mod compatibility. So yeah, moving bases / airships with all your stuff and contraptions, not just block vehicles.

I am a prehistoric histories and manga / anime fan.
Hello I love your mod, but can I request that you add compatibility for Mekanism and Defence Tech by aidancbrady(things involving power Crash, bounding boxes on advanced solar panels get left behind).
Thanks in advance.
Well, multiblock compatibility is interesting (and I would love to see it as well), but you can always move the whole thing and it will work just fine. Old Redstone in Motion used to crash with Ender IO as well, but right now it is almost 100% compatible with most mods, and for blocks that might cause crashes, just blacklist, remove it from your build and be happy, there is a very high chance you don't even need them in your frame craft.
This makes me think how the most awesome mods, aside from extremely professional and smooth running like Thermal Expansion, are often the ones that implement mechanics that almost everybody thought to be impossible before.
Multiple blocks in one block space, frames? RedPower.
Player-custom dimensions? Mystcraft.
Multiple pipes in one block, remote area access? Ender IO.
Persistent computers, 3d printers? Opencomputers.
Highly compatible frames with the possibility of teleportation? Redstone in Motion.
There are also some that add mechanics known to work beforehand, but in such creative and mind-blowing ways that it's simply impossible to miss, like Compact Machines, Thaumcraft and Tinker's Construct.
I've a problem while moving blocks. They become invisible and when they finished with moving they become visible again.
So if i use this i dont see what happpens. i've used this mod a couple of years ago and then it worked just fine.
I hope that this threat is not dead beacause it is a year ago that someone said something.
That has do to with your GPU or MC graphic configurations IIRC. BTW, seeing the frame moving is just a (neat) bonus JAKJ (correct me if I am wrong since I don't play 1.6.4 since 5 years) thought would be cool to add over the classic Redpower frames (and followed by other frame mods), and not something essential by any means. I don't remember what triggers this, but larger structures are somehow more prone to become invisible while moving. in the meantime, relax: You can't interact with moving tile entities.
Also try using 2.8.9 instead of 2.8.10, might be a solution.
