1. For a server, would I say "generator-name=highlands", or "level-type=highlands"? As an example, my custom flat world server is "generator-name=flat", "level-type=DEFAULT", and "generator-options=....." (long string defining custom flat).

2. When you say that you have custom ore spawns, how does that work, and and you compatible with Custom Ore Gen? I hate vanilla clusters, and use COG for veins and clouds.
I found your biome-specific spawn rules; they're pretty close to COG's, and easy enough to extend COG to match.
3. How well do your biomes work in Mystcraft ages if you need a custom world type for the overworld?
My biggest question.
Specifically, what do you do differently in your world type? I found your list of biomes to sub-biomes -- you don't have just one sub-biome per main biome, like vanilla does; is the only difference in your worldgen just accounting for these different sub-biomes?
4. Do you change how the overworld generates (the vanilla climate zones are too large)? Or do I have to use Climate Control for that? (NB: CC has a minor incompatibility with Mystcraft, it disables the native biome distributions, so that no age can look like the overworld).
I noticed that you list more realistic biome placement; is that the only change to worldgen, and is it just the "sub-biome" behavior? Or do you still use the vanilla climate zone system?
8. "Highlands uses biome ID's 200 – 244 by default" -- do you alter the vanilla code that regards biome ID's 128-255 to be rare variants of the base biomes?

i have more ideas for biomes [coming soon] and trees can you make colored sky for every biomes and make water reeds and make the savvahna have ant hills and its made my harden dirt and make 5 new flowers the flowers some of the flowers aren't specific the first one is the water lily flower it only blooms when its day time and dosen't bloom in the night time and generates everywhere in body's of water but dosent generate in the cold biome and the second is the flycatcher it only generate is exotic biome's it can attack players or any mobs [could you make the flycather have an animation] it only generates if its on a grass block and you can put it on a flower pot [vanila pot] it's color is a light green colour and its mouth is a red color and the third is the lunar flower it only generates in the mystic forest it rare to see on it only blooms when it's a full moon its color is a light violet and it has a particle like a violet colour and the fourth is the end flower it only generates on the end it spawn only in end stone it always bloom's and it has a enderpearl colour and has a particle of endermen particle and the fifth is a sunflower some are 2 blocks high and some are 1 block high they only bloom at day and generates on every biomes exept the cold biomes and add 2 new stone like marbel and limestone [hope this will be added some of them]
Um, I know it's always been a part of the mod, but could you rethink the slow growth of large Highlands trees? As it is, canopy or ash trees take about 5 times longer to grow than jungle trees the same size, and if you use bonemeal they quite often take over a stack of the stuff per tree.

Usually modders who work on biomes mods are not that open to new biomes idea, or even take it poorly.
When it comes to Highlands, I fear the author reaction may have a little more impact that what you are expecting... like rusty forks being thrown at your eyes or stuff like that... just sayin... but it's okay, pain is easier to handle when you are ready for it

Instead, think of it as "I want you to understand me, so I will work to make what I am saying easy for you to understand".
We have rules of grammar, that exist so that there is a common framework in which to communicate ideas from one person to another. While there is no guarantee that following that grammar will result in understanding, it does greatly increase the chance of success.

Make 5 new flowers
The first is a water lily flower. it only blooms when it's day time, and doesn't bloom in the night time. It generates everywhere in bodies of water but doesn't generate in the cold biomes.
The second is the flycatcher. It only generates in exotic biomes. It can attack players or any mobs (could you make the flycatcher have an animation?) It only generates if its on a grass block, and you can put it in a vanilla flower pot. Its color is a light green and its mouth is a red color.

It also helps to have some idea of how hard your suggestions will be to code for. For instance, a flower that blooms during the day and closes at night wouldn't be too hard (make one open and one closed texture, and use code from daylight sensors or clocks to make them switch between the two), but one that only opens on a full moon would require writing the timing code from scratch.
It also sounds more respectful if you use a hypothetical tense (it would have...) rather than a present tense (it has...). Makes it sound more like a suggestion, and less like something that you're disappointed he forgot.

As for "full moon", etc: There is a moon phase. I have no idea if there's a way to ask for "the phase of the highest moon", but it is possible to ask for "The angle of the highest sun". There may be multiple suns or moons in a world.
