I may have missed this info on this somewhere but I'm tired of searching endlessly for an answer. Decided it'll likely be easier to just ask. How does one acquire the Japanese Maple? The only info I have found anywhere on the trees added in this mod is that they can all be "crafted" though only the Fir tree shows a recipe. I haven't be able to find what biome the Japanese Maple may be found in or anything such as that.
I've found that Highlands doesn't necessarily register other mods' biomes (Buildcraft and Thaumcraft are ones I have specific knowledge of).
I had to create a small mod that'll register biomes via a config file to get Thaumcraft biomes to generate with Higlands.
Does this help integrate vanilla biomes in 1.7.10?
Does this mod have compatibility with the Climate Control mod, and how do I make it so that the mountains in the mountain biomes are larger and the biomes themselves are bigger?
Imagine biomes as colored rice seeds. Your pot is full of colored rice seeds, and you shake it and draw a seed each time you want to determine the type of the next biome, then drop that seed back, so that each time you draw, the number of seed of each type remains constant.
If you have 30 brown, 20 green and 10 yellow seeds, you'll get, say, 50% swamps, 33% plains and 17% deserts. Approximately.
Ok i really love the way highlands generate thing except for one im still getting No rivers at alland i have rivers set to 50. i use highlands and BOP. Only way i have found is using CC, but i dont like the way CC generates. you get almost no highland island biomes. Anyway to get rivers with just highland generation??
do you planning to make a compatibility with RTG (real terrain generation) mod?
Thanks and greetz
RTG already has versions of Highlands biomes. Highlands doesn't know to place them in the RTG worldtype, but you can have Highlands biomes with Climate Control or with BiomeTweaker.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Geographicraft (formerly Climate Control) - Control climate, ocean, and land sizes; stop chunk walls; put modded biomes into Default worlds, and more!
RTG plus - All the beautiful terrain of RTG, plus varied and beautiful trees and forests.
Better Forests Varied and beautiful trees and forests, in modern Minecraft.
The RTG team ported Highlands-UT (the 1.8 versions, which has a different set of biomes and requires its own worldtype) to 1.10, but we haven't tackled this one yet because we don't have permission from Fabricator77.

Why doesn't the version for 1.7.10 curse packs not have all highlands biomes in the structure config file? Villages should not be on volcanic islands...
Any fix for the Console spam of
Makes managing a server a nightmare.
Probably wont be using this mod until thats resolved, otherwise its a great mod!
What gave you impression that this is coming from Highlands, and not any other mod?
Well, because this code that makes the log is in the source of Highlands:
https://github.com/fabricator77/Highlands/blob/master/src/highlands/block/BlockCocoaPlant2.java#L46
This piece of code doesn't really look useful to me. While I am a mere user, not a coder, it's beyond my abilities to remove this code from the mod.
Oh, all right. Should hopefully be easy to fix then!

It is an INTEGRATION mod. Not "change world generation" mod.
Cool =D
Question on biome weight does higher increase or decrease chance for that biome? Im not seeing any rivers or lakes.

Will this be updated to 1.10.2?
Unlikely; the modder has been incommunicado for months. Highlands-UT probably will, but maybe not soon.

How to use this mod in a server? (What should I write in the level-type?)
"highlands" or "HIGHLANDS"
You can check the level.dat generated on client for correct spelling.
Oh, and MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE you've grabbed Highlands Integrator, if you are using any mods that add biomes. Like Thaumcraft f.e.
Multiplay
server.properties
generator-settings=????
?
Maybe add every biome to the config so we can keep villages from generating in, say, volcanic islands?
