Can you please make it compatable with exrabiomes xl? It already spawns in default so theres no config option for it but it doesnt seem to spawn in the highlands thing :/ also, when you make the biomes very small andhave biomes o plenty too the world is kind of messed up which ATG probably would fix because they make mountains better and not like small random things
Okay for those of you have issues with Highlands upgrade to at least forge 1424 and try again spawning issues fixed it was never a highlands issue and for those of you claiming the mod is broken and are using the latest version and are not in the market to jump to 1.8 because vanilla is currently 1.8.6 please wait and a friend of mine will fix the issues IF we can re-create the causes. The fact is all the bs mention I have never seen using buildcraft however THAUMCRAFT is broken as hell in 1.7.10 and has a rather over sized memory leak the auther has REFUSED to patch until 1.7.10. A memory leak is a coding error that with elongated server runtime cause the server to fizzle out and most memory leaks can be detected through Java test environment and mod obfuscation tools. The fact is THAUMCRAFT is a great mod in concept not implementation.
I use a ton of biome spawning mods and not once had the issues that you mentioned the only mod I never use is thaumcraft because no matter what I have tested the results are the same thaumcraft is broken.
Its essentially Sonic 06
Okay now that I am done I will ask someone to do what I cannot ... can someone update the sphax pack for highlands to 1.7.10?
I updated from 1.6.4 to 1.7.10 and all my badlands became plains
That's kinda what you get for trying to migrate a world across that divide. I know it used to work fine, but 1.7 massively rearranged world generation and a whole lot of inner workings. I hear it's the same going from 1.7 to 1.8, too.

You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!

Well i guess you're right its my fault :| i've changed it to desert using worldpainter so it looks a lot more like badlands exept for the sky :|.

Me, I just finished off my 1.6 worlds and then started new ones. It's not just biome coloring, you'll encounter chunk walls if you explore anymore, and if you're like me you'll have a bunch of modded stuff vanish or stop working right.

- Made private server to play with friends
- Added this mod
- Renamed the "Shrubland" biome to "Scrubland"
- Made sure to place friends' spawn points in a scrubland biome
- Told them that they spawned in scrubland
- they check the biome
- "Scrubland"
Okay, so this is probably a dumb thing to ask and probably can't be done, but I'll try anyway. There's a seed I want to use that has a really awesome mountain range, but it only generates when using the default world type, so is there any way I can create a default world so it will generate that area and then set it to use Highlands, so the world will generate the Highlands biomes outside of the areas already explored?

Yes, there is, but only if you don't mind having that area surrounded by chunk walls. If you change worldgen within a world, the terrain created by the old and new generators doesn't stitch together, it creates a sharp discontinuity along the chunk boundaries.

So how do you do it? I'll back my stuff up and give it a try to see if I feel like I can live with it.

Do Highlands make use of Ore Dictionary? I see that Highlands woods aren't compatible with many recipes, while other modded wood fits perfectly.
How to I get my server to generate the Highlands biomes? I've already switched the world type to "HIGHLANDS" and nothing happened.
I believe some things are, but many aren't. You can add them via a Minetweaker script and that usually fixes recipes and such.
Example Script

Until someone ports this legendary mod I am leaving the minecraft scene. http://www.cosc.canterbury.ac.nz/greg.ewing/minecraft/mods/ArchitectureCraft/#mozTocId598776 I have watched too many legendary mods die and carpenters blocks sudden fallout out of mainstream made me cry. I realize the source is messy but some of the best mods from 1.6.4 and 1.7.10 were.

I'm sorry, but now one of biomes generates very bad
Minecraft version: 1.7.10
I created a cinematic for this mod about two years ago. The quality isn't great, however if you like it... well... here it is

It'll not be pretty, but yes. You can do that.
