It's 1.7 only (though, I recently learned that I can back-port it, which I'll be doing).
Go to the Mods list in the main menu, scroll down to TooMuchLoot, and hit the config button
cool, i will check it then (using the 1.7.10 version btw) hmmm, using the version 1.3 the config button doesn't even show up greyed. there are no buttons at all under your mod when I select it actually.

ahhh...NIce mod indeed...but...You shold make things easier...for "normal" peoples...the wiki is a good idea..but what is a wiki without informations??
I mean OK, You tell us how the file should looks like...but...many questions from normal people...
If - adding a own custom loot ( witchery - wormwood seeds for exammple) to the dungeon chests I need to :
- Create .json file with text from the wiki inside with item ID and category dungeonChest (using 1.6.4) // rest is just how I like to spawn rate...ok
- Do I need to create another file .json for another item I want to add??...or just put item ID lower pasting the same text from wiki??....
- And finally - - HOW THE FILE SHOULD BE NAMED???..it should look like the gen folder??...with files dependings on category??......I'm little confused...but yea...mod is awesome, helps a lot getting things you want...or need...not some mystcraft crap pages u got tons of...

Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
1. How do I access nether fortress chests with this?
EDIT: ... and mystcraft library chests, or twilight forest treasure chests (many categories), or ...
2. If I wanted to replace the contents of smithy chests to only be a raw fish with the name "Red Herring", how would I do that?
3. I tried adding stuff to the "gen" chests lists, but it did not seem to work -- are those files only for adjusting what is already added by vanilla or mods, and not for adding to the spawn lists?

TML seems to kill any NBT data on items. I have a custom class derived from WeightedRandomChestContent that generates items with NBT data. Too much loot seems to kill said NBT data.

Is that what is causing the Rainbow-colored-square TConstruct tools to appear in chests?
I actually came here to report a crash I'm getting. Once I try to load a game or create a new world, Minecraft will immediately return to the main screen without any kind of error message, and this is from the log:
I haven't actually modified any configs for TooMuchLoot at all yet. I tried deleting the configs and letting them regenerate to see if that helped but the crash still happens.
Edit to add that when this occurs, once you try to exit Minecraft it will never actually close. It will stay running in the background as a kind of zombie process, still eating gigs of RAM, which must be force-closed.

Unfortunately unavoidable if you're storing any data outside the parent ItemStack field.
1. Can I add a set of chests as a group? For example the game automatically has Village chests, Dungeon chests, etc... I want to have my own set of chests for a specific dungeon I'm designing. As such I'd love to be able to have Dungeon Level 1, Dungeon Level 2, etc... with each containing loot randomly spawned into all chests on the related level of the dungeon. Can I do this?
2. Does this mod work only by randomly placing chests from within the mod or can it somehow work if I was to manually place chests and then somehow link them to a specific loot config file?
If so, how would I tell a chest in game that it belongs to the "Dungeon Level 1" group, or level 2, etc...
3. Is it possible to have the mod automatically respawn the contents of the chests I place in my dungeon every 'x' amount of time? Even if there is still loot in a chest, can the mod erase the contents then respawn new content randomly from the config files?
Well, I guess thats all for now. I've been looking for a random chest filling mod for a while and none that I came across seem to work with Forge or MC 1.7.10. Glad to see this mod. I hope it can do what I'm needing for my RPG world.
Using the version for 1.7.10, I'm unable to add Industrialcraft items such as a basic circuit. I've looked up the circuit's name in-game and on the wiki and have tried various permutations of it, but all I get is the "Tinker's Construct" blank item.
This is what I'm including. It's identical to other inputs except for the name of the item. What am I missing?
"itemPartCircuit;0" {
B:enabled=true
I:max_spawn_count=5
I:min_spawn_count=1
I:spawn_weight=1
}
You need to pay attention to the "adding loot" tutorial not "adjusting loot"
Here's an example file I made.

This update completely overhauls the config system. Gone is the clunky seperate config files and JSON files, and it's all unified into one JSON system. I've updated the original post on all of this, and written up some nice proper documentation!
Is there an example of how to add loot in the 1.6.4 version anywhere? The old page about it on the github wiki was deleted and I can't seem to look at the old revision where it still existed D:

I took those NBT tags from the wiki; how do I make a digging feesh dig?

This version marks the end of 1.6 support! It also now requires Forge 10.13.0.1180

Like chests from floating islands, better dungeons, and roguelike dungeons?
- Also
how do you add damage into an items id? Is it just (x:y)? x being the initial ID and y being the damage?
Is the : suitable or is ;?
