all useing tools and such that the player crafts such as fishing poles hoes ender perls and other such things as you may see fit, i will be useing this mod for now on in ever build available because its a very nicely built and useful mod.
ive been wanting a mod that would impliment a quarry that runs on tools for some time now, the fact that the machines need cobble is amazing because that also offsets the op of silk touch a bit.
i just wish i could grasp java so i could make some mods of my own.
So I love this mod - been playing around with it all day - but I have a couple of suggestions:
#1: The upgrade system is awesome - but it's a hassle. I can't even imagine using this for longterm mining cuz it's such a pain in the butt.
My suggestion to follow what Prof. Mobeius's idea of upgrading JABBA barrels: You make a base upgrade and then combine it with 2 others to create a tier 1 upgrade. Then you take 3 tier 1 upgrades and create a tier 2 upgrade... Etc... Work in full rings, not this 1 block per...
#2: Speaking of jabba - make the miner movable with handtrucks/dolleys - or give it wheels or something... Not a big idea, but some form of 'transportation' would make it so much nicer....
#3: Give us the ability to plant cobble - even if there's nothing to dig up. ie. if you are at 64 and there's nothing below you, it'll use 64 cobble to fill up the whole...
And finally...
#4: Allow us to set the depth. I love this idea; but it's things like this that make me not want to use it...
There's so much potential here - i can't wait to see more (especially if you like and implement my suggestions...)
Well, I'm using the latest version and I can't use anything from Metallurgy. I might try Botania and Power Gems tools today and see if they work
What level miner are you using. The tool level still applies so most of the metallurgy tools would be a higher level than iron so would only work in the diamond miner.
The first time I ran the mod, I think it was using the iron miner, it took the pick down to 0 durability but it didn't destroy it. I was happy and added my nice pick and... this time it destroyed it completely! I assume the miner will *destroy* tools giving you no chance of repairing them unless you pull them out before it destroys them?
The machines WILL destroy vanilla tools (and possible other mod tools) but it will not destroy TiC tools.

Farming is actually done but didn't compile for me. And yes almost everything that will be in this mod will use tools that the player could use themselves.
I'm not sure about the ender cards though..... Although....

Aha! Might want to clarify in the OP what each level of machine does - it's kind of unclear at the mo and so I had no clue you needed to upgrade to use higher-tier tools.

Hey, this might be a silly idea, but a search on the thread didn't show it being considered yet. What about having minecart versions of each machine? They would have more expensive fuel requirements, because they also have to power the minecart, but be able to cover a larger area in exchange. Basically they would travel along a rail until they hit an activator rail, then perform their function until the task is complete/there is nothing for them to do, then continue along the tracks until they hit another activator rail, and repeat the process. So, you'd be able to lay out a path to handle a large-scale operation, and rails would actually be useful.

I both think this is a great idea and a terrible idea. I feel like it would probably make the machines a bit OP but I am looking for a way of moving them too. I suspect that there may be something in the future.

i would have honestly utilized the enderchest system by sor.... well i have ideas lol
i have a dream to make certain mods and items that do not exist yet but unfortunately i have a memory disorder and it is very hard for me to learn or remember things :/. ive been trying to learn java but unless i have someone teaching me or helping i will not grasp it, but i have so many great ideas.
do u care if i pm u to run a few off of you? u can use some of em if u like but i will one day finally learn java and build a few mods of my own useing these ideas

1.4 - The "I'd Like a Potato" Update
This release brings quite a few bug fixes for various things including the sapling dupe bug and a stack overflow error. It also fixes a crash that allows Blood Magic lava crystals to be used as a fuel source.
The release also adds a creative RF Engine to power your machines forever. There is no recipe for this item but you can spawn it in if you are testing out the machines or in a non survival world or simply just want to cheat.
The main addition in this version is the introduction of the Planter which is a crop farming block that you will want to place under your farm. The block needs seeds and a hoe to function and can be upgraded like the other machines. The Planter will hoe the ground (using durability) and then once the crop is grown it will harvest the crop (while harvesting it the ground will become regular dirt again thus requiring to be hoed again). The length of time the machine will take to harvest depends on the level of the machine with the Wooden one taking ~4 seconds while the diamond one will only take 0.5 seconds per crop.

Quick update. Released another small update to fix some game crashing bugs. Download 1.4.1 if you come across them.
Update Log:
Added checking for objects that don't do correct ISidedInventory checking, however items thrown into these objects will be lost. Also fixed incorrect ore dic for upgrades for wood upgrades and machines.

Just installed and tested the mod. Great work. Minor problems with The Chopper. It stops cutting down the rest of the tree after it's chopped down part of it. mostly with dark oak and acacia trees so far.
Already is. If there is a mods tool that doesn't work with it let me know.
Crop farming and some new upgrades will be next but possibly ore processing after that.

When you post a mod: "No pics no clicks" and "MCreator = bad ~99% of the time"
Don't forget to read the crashlog before reporting the crash. It might tell you why it's crashing.

Yes it does, but the tool level restriction still applies. If it's not working with a machine you probably need a higher level machine.
The machines WILL destroy vanilla tools (and possible other mod tools) but it will not destroy TiC tools.

I both think this is a great idea and a terrible idea. I feel like it would probably make the machines a bit OP but I am looking for a way of moving them too. I suspect that there may be something in the future.
