The Progressive Automation machines do take into account Unbreaking of any level, but due to the way Minecraft calculates the "damage avoidance" percentage, enchantments above level 10 aren't going to have a significantly higher damage resistance.
If you're spawning in tools anyway, you might just want to add the "Unbreakable" tag which keeps them from taking durability damage. As op in the console, type:
I agree that upgrades are kind of costly, but you can change the config file to make them increase the area of machines more per upgrade to balance that however you want. I usually change that setting so that each upgrade adds 8 to the range instead of 1.
As for only getting a small amount of iron, did you have a filler upgrade on the machine? If not, it stops when it hits caves, water, lava, etc. and doesn't dig below them. If you are having trouble getting cobble to keep it runing, consider making a cobble gen upgrade. Also, world generation is a factor. If there is no iron in the area you mine, you won't get any which is not a fault of this mod.
The filler upgrade only causes the miner to fill in air and liquid blocks, without it the miner still mines all the way down to bedrock.
not
good mod, this miner is inbalance, expensive recipe , expensive to work
, and low efficiency, 4 iron pickaxe 1 iron shovel and mined 6 iron ore
XD and tons adensite and dirt upgrades need too much iron/diamond .
My stone pickaxe and my hand is faster and cheaper for mining than this
miner.
When you first put down the iron miner, run it with stone pickaxes and shovels. Let it complete a full pass, then put in the iron pickaxe and just leave the stone shovel, there's no real advantage to iron for shovels. You'll get all the iron ore with the cheap stone tools and just the gold, redstone and diamond with the expensive iron tools. The miner won't re-mine the cobblestone it already put down.
Alternately, I make multiple stone miners and, as they complete, pick them up with the wrench and put down my one iron miner for the gold, etc.

Love this mod, thank you for it!
The only thing missing is some sort of animal selection device. When breeding animals, at some point there are X adult animals in the pen, and I'd like to transfer them automatically to the mob killer area. Or have the mob killer in the same area as the animal breeder, but only activate if there are more than X adult animals.
If you add this code into the source code into the function it will acomplish this task!
ToolHelper.java:
public static boolean damageTool(ItemStack tool, World world, int x, int y, int z) {
//Prevent Tools from Breaking in Machines if enchantment is level 10 or higher
int chkUnbreakingLevel = EnchantmentHelper.getEnchantmentLevel(Enchantments.UNBREAKING, tool); //10 = Goal
if (chkUnbreakingLevel >= 10) {
return false; //unbreaking level 10 = don't let it break return false
}

Hey folks, I don't know if this is still maintained, but I had two questions:
1) Is there a way to make the Miner just dig blocks out without swapping them with anything, just leaving the space?
2) Is there a pipes/item moving mod that works well with this?
I pretty much only do skyblock survival maps nowadays, so this is a nice level of automation for what I need (like not needing tons of extra resources to make).
2) Is there a pipes/item moving mod that works well with this?
I would recommend taking a look at the Hopper Ducts mod. It's small, simple, has a vanilla-ish feel, and is supported up to version 1.10.2 of Minecraft as of right now.
i have hopperducts installed, i almost never use it tho, the pipes seem to cause me alot of lag, they seem to drop my tick speed to almost nothing... for example, cooking anything in the furnace takes 4 times as long when i have a hopper duct pipe being used near by, just sitting there, but anyway thats not why im here >_<
when i use the rf generaters (wood/stone/iron/diamond) they drain all the power out of my power advantage batteries almost instantly i have the power converter attached between as im getting most of my power from geoactivity thermic reactors on the roof, then cabling it with flux ducts, but the powers instanly drained when i add a PA genny into the system

I'm a big fan of this mod. It adds options for the player without doing anything overpowered. Nice work my friend! I was wondering though; do you have any plans to allow redstone to be used as fuel? Maybe just allow it to create RF in the Generator?
I'm having trouble with that as well. Trying to use an Ender IO tank and conduits to cycle empty and full buckets to and from the tank and farmer.
The conduits and tank seem to work fine. When I put a full milk bucket in the farmer's inventory, it gets sucked out into the tank, the tank fills from it, and it exports the empty bucket back into the farmer.
The problem I'm having is the farmer itself. It doesn't milk the cows. I've trapped cows adjacent to it on three sides (the conduit is on the fourth side), and I've upgraded it to diamond, and I've used a diamond upgrade to increase the range on it. It's got fuel. It's got a bucket. I even put wheat in it, because why not? But it just says Waiting...
What do I need to do to get this thing to milk mah cows? I want to use this with the Fluid Cows mod, but I need a working proof of concept before I move forward with this.
I don't need this mod anymore I put together a modpack that does everything this mod does I think almost everything is covered by RF Tools or Ender IO i forget.
I haven't used the mod too much yet but for as far as I did I like it There is one thing that annoys me a bit tho and that is that the miner fills in the holes with coble, but I would like to make an actual hole sometimes. If i look at the mod and how you could implement it easily is maybe with another one of those upgrades that says like don't fill in the hole with cobble but instead keep the cobble and put it in the inventory of the miner.
I am playing in 1.12.2 btw if you need that for something.

What is the real difference between a wooden animal farmer and a diamond animal farmer?
yeah i wonder this as well
Okay found it, Fuel or RF Consumption, wooden needs more, diamond less

this would be so handy. i had such a mess of a time trying to fully automate a cow milking station
