Even though I have not changed anything I can not mine obsidian with my leveled up Bronze Pick.
Taken from the config:
# Ore Dictionary name (each on seperate line) to be set to harvest level 4 (bronze pick+)
S:harvestLevel04oreDict <
Diamond
Emerald
Redstone
Ruby
Sapphire
Cinnabar
Quartz
Obsidian
CertusQuartz
Tungstate
Sodalite
GreenSapphire
BlackGranite
RedGranite
>
I can mine diamonds, redstone, CertusQuartz, and Cinnabar but I can not mine obsidian, which means I can not make Alumite to progress any further.
Not if diamond boost is disabled.
@summitsummit Obsidian sometimes does not respect the oreDict changes so there was and still is a piece of code to force it higher. When I added the diamond boost option I forgot to add a check to stop Obsidian from being set to high when diamond boost was off.

Are you talking about this:
pickboosting {
B:diamondPickaxeBoost=true
Because I still can NOT add diamond to a tool.
Yes that's the setting and you can only add diamonds if you have a free modifier slot and don't have an emerald on it. I have removed the code to force Obsidian higher and added code to force it to respect oreDict changes for the next update.
I have fixed lapis/luck not working when given on leveling and was going to work through the other modifiers that don't work on leveling but will build with Obsidian fix now and work on the other modifiers after that.
Hmmm, am I missing something ? I can't seem to mine Iron with my copper pick and progression is halted for now.
B:pickaxeBoostRequired=false
and copper is set to mining level = 2 (iron)
When I am making the copper pick in the TiCon Tool Station it says "Mining Level: Iron" but as soon as I take it out, it changes back to copper. Is there something else I need to change ?
@Sigma85 if the copper tool was built before the the config was fixed it will keep the lower level so a new copper pick. Tools are not changed in the builder unless a part is actually replaced.
Also Beta 9 is up that fixes some modifiers not applying correctly on leveling.
What were you upgrading from? FTB build (I've only tested this one and it worked on my end), Iquana build11, Iquana build7 & old Tic or something ease?
Update note I found a small 'bug' with default config not matching Iquana in regards to the diamond boost and an old minor bug that would cause a disconnect between how Much xp you need to level a Mattock by using it as a hoe and harvesting blocks (It also effected the f3 debug xp reporting for all tools).
EDIT: RC2 is now up fixing those bugs and Chisels now get XP when used in crafting or in the world!! however chisels do not 'ding' when they level.
I have blacklisted easy Tool Modification of chisels do to an exploit.
Any more bugs to report before I drop full 1.0 release?
Indeed. I've just got a new laptop and am setting up my minecraft again from scratch since I lost my previous one :'( I decided to try your mod. Unfortunately I got the following error. Took me a while but I discovered it only shows up when tic tweaks is installed (kept removing mods until the error went away (sadly I did this in alphabetical order, thankfully in groups not one-by-one) after the error went away I put everything else back and the error didn't return, thus tic tweaks must be the culprit). If it helps I have idfix installed (but not idfix-minus, found that to cause problems) in general this should not be an issue, but it could be (I can give you the IDs that are altered, if it helps, but I doubt it).

But IDfix Minus works perfectly fine.
Some mods do ID creating the hard way, so thus It messes up IDFix Minus. (you know you have to remove it after running it once, right?)
If you continue to add and drop mods, then of course you're gonna have problems.
And Protip: If you ran IDfix Minus and then added/removed mods and ran it again and had problems, you need to delete the file "Idfixminus.txt" in the .minecraft folder before you run it again, since I believe it takes from that file
Also, IDfix (not minus) should not be used with something like TIC Tweaks because it continues to switch the conflicting IDS of this mod and TCon.
Protip: The Forge Log in the .minecraft folder tells you Item conflicts, If I were to show you a section of my forge log It would show that Tic Tweaks overwrites TCon's parts.
I figured this out when Better Archery's Arrows and Vanilla Minecraft arrows were both showing up, when the former's arrows replace the latter,
The Leveling logic calcs XP needed and how to give XP based on if the item is built on the "weapon" or "harvest tool" template. BattleAxe uses the "harvest tool" template so the leveling code treats it as one. I'll add some catch code so the BattleAxe will gain XP when used as a weapon but it's XP requirement calc will still be based on the harvest tools.
Edit: 1.0.0 is up just adds chisel blacklist and BattleAxe gaining XP as a weapon.
And also option to change required material amount for tool parts for example pickaxe head require 5 materials and rod 2.
And also option to buff or nerf tool type speed and other statistics for example making broadsword deal 1 extra damage and longsword 1 less damage even if made from same material.
And also could you make an option to make more then 15 tool tiers like 30(So I could set most of the materials to have their own tier).?
crash in 1.6.4 with Dartcraft (v2.19) bombs and either Iguana Tweaks or IguanaTweaks for Tinkers. I am not sure what mod is causing it, and if you choose to not fix it, i don't blame you since most devs don't work on prior versions and have moved on to 1.7. I am just reporting this so that you all know about this crash bug. Thank you for your time. http://pastebin.com/eVux0k0f

@slay_mithos what you want there is possible I'll explain haw when I have more time
@GameGeek1998 that's from me forgetting that adding comments it respects casing but when adding setting it converts to lower. I fixed it for 1.0.1 but if the config was made with an old version the new ones will not remove those lines.
@BUTTONPUSHER That is Iguana Tweaks crashing you will need to report it to whoever is doing that now I can't remember who that was ATM.
You can mine diamonds and then the obsidian

I never got idfix or idfix-minus to work without major problems so gave up on it a long time before I even started modding.
