There's a new version available! It fixes a bunch of issues and also adds some new blocks

Changelog:

• Fixed BL saplings crashing the game when growing
• Fixed Nettle Soup using up two items at once
• Fixed crash caused by Basilisk Arrow
• Fixed orange Dentrothyst Shield recipes not working
• Fixed Weeping Blue Petals not curing decay
• Fixed Swamp Reed Rope requirement missing when placing Rubber Taps
• Fixed Weedwood Bow not corroding
• Fixed crash during initialization with several other mods
• Fixed Decay and Ring of Recruitment renderer occasionally causing a lot of lag
• Removed food sickness from Sap Ball
• Added missing recipes for: Syrmorite Bucket, Polished Limestone Slabs/Stairs, Weedwood Log Fence/Gates, Rubber Block
• Added Polished Limestone Wall
• Updated Weedwood Walkway and Chip Path
• Updated Thatch, Thatch Slabs and Thatch Roof
• Further performance improvements to world gen

One other thing that wasn't mentioned in the changelog: JEI support has been (mostly) implemented. Recipes for Compost Bin, Mortar and Pestle, Purifier, Animator, and the Dark Druid Altar are all viewable.

I see you have Optifine and potentially shaders installed, disable the Betweenlands shaders in the config and then try again.

They're not broken (at least in this case :P). As you have said, they work fine without the other mods installed. The fix might even be as simple as to set "Fast Render" in the Optifine settings to OFF and not using other shaders.

Edit: Ah, just read your edit. Yeah, it's not and will not be compatible with other shaders because that's (mostly) impossible or very hard unfortunately. That's why we added a config option to disable the Betweenlands shaders.

The Betweenlands shaders and regular shaderpacks are not compatible together. Whatever you do, either one or the other will work properly, but not both.

It uses the biome dictionary and should be able to generate in any biomes that are tagged as Swamp and are somewhat flat with enough space for the Druid Circle.

The solution is to either use the Betweenlands shaders or other shaders, but you can't use both at once.

What about the angler fish and the fireflies? The wight effects? The mysterious figures in the shadows? The repeller force field? The octine arrows? If those aren't shaders, then what is?

No, it's not updated. You're still using Forge 12.18.2.2121 which is quite outdated
