Will o`the wisp mod? where you talking about xD
We have some will o` wisp creatures in our mod yea? xD
If it is that what you mean
Or you mean something diffrent?
I love how this is all coming together so well. you guys have a great mod at your hands, cant wait for the release and the new screenshots look really good, keep it up
Why must everything be in the vanilla minecraft? It's not difficult to install a mod or use it
Less load time.
Under Jeb's eye, it would not crash regardless of what other mods would cause when integrated into Minecraft naturally, from there is just looking up recipes and see how it works. (Or discover it all naturally)
Less confusion and convenience.
More mods becoming a vanilla part of Minecraft is like the above but that means there would be--
A WHOLE LOT
to do and so much to discover. And you won't get bored anytime soon.

It doesn't take that long to load a mod. Mods don't crash more than Minecraft if they are from good developers. There isn't really confusion, everyone should be able to install a mod. What if there is something in Minecraft you don't like? You can't just simply turn it off. Mods get boring too.
I don't see any advanced in having all mods in vanilla Minecraft, but thats my opinion
WTF you talking about bro?!
Some mods need to stay how they are.. and not change
And i mean like this one
This is a good mod and nobody need to rip it off or use it for there own mod..!
This is our mod.. and that will stay!
Sorry, I was not implying it should. Its true that mods are best as mods. But what I'm trying to say, what the common pubber who partakes in mods as good as this is saying, is that they want to. they dont want anymore confliction cause of a mess of mods they gathered and one of those mods just cant agree with running with one or two already installed.
At this point, I can guess they dont give a rip about what they want and dont want. =)
Anyway, Im hoping this mod will flourish and be fruitful too~
It's okay~ I should have thought that a bit through~
...Actually. It would be nice if Jeb found a way to add every mod made to be a vanilla function and existing things in Minecraft, we "could" chose what should be in this or that world, and what shouldnt. Especially making this mod support unique where there is no confliction or malfunction, None whatsoever.

Isn't this what the modding API will do?

Sort of, but the modding API won't change that much except that the modders will have a really hard and painful time
to update their mods. I don't see many advances in the modding API.
But it's getting a bit off-topic, so let's finish this discussion
Plus the fact some mods use forge, some use Modloader.
What Im getting at is ANY mod Will work whether it likes it or not,. and wont require those modloaders or Forges in them to function. And instead of conflicting over minor details like sharing I.D. or those times they just dont seem to want to work together, the mod friendly function would force them to work anyhow, giving different new i.d.'s to the ones that have the same and making items work regardless.

Um, If I made sense.
Forge can already do something like that. The difference is that it's supported by Mojang, and probably won't break mods every MC update.
According to the mod API's GitHub page, it has not been worked on for over a month and it currently does absolutely nothing. https://github.com/Mojang/Minecraft-API
The upcoming official API is BAD NEWS. VERY BAD NEWS.
It will not help modders in any way whatsoever, in fact it will give them a very hard time. All of the mods will have to use it and if you don't you could face being sued.
It may not even cover everything, meaning that mods will have to edit more base classes.
Mods will have to be completely re-written to fit it. The Betweenlands will probably never be updated after it is released.
The reason Mojang are doing this is to bring the mods all together so they have more ownership over them. It isn't to help anyone at all.
The good news is, Dinnerbone isn't doing his job properly. He was hired to make the API, but instead he is adding more amazing new content to the game. Please, for God's sake, let this continue.
I have to slightly disagree with you there. Okay maybe majorly.
First thing, Mojang is no way selfish like that. If they were selfish they would have called dibs on all mods already, have Minecraft 50 bucks for a premium account, and never update or add content that the community wants.
Second thing, the API has not even been slightly release, so I do not know how you came to conclusions on this matter, without even knowing what it is. The whole reason why they are adding the mod API is for the community to get more content than what vanilla has to offer. I really do not know how you came to these conclusions when you youreself dont know a thing about it, in fact Mojang doesn't really either. They are still trying to figure it all out, and how it will please the community.
You can be sure, that if they made the API 'So bad' like how you described it, the community would have an uprise. Minecraft would go waaaaaaay down hill. And do you think Mojang is going to let that happen? I doubt it. If they did there would be something seriously wrong, and everything in the Minecraft universe will go down.
Also, why would they sue you? They have millions of dollars already, there would be no point in it. And Mojang could sue all the modders if they wanted to, because they have created a mod based of their game. If you aren't using the API they cant sue you. Otherwise you already would have been, because you are not using the API.
Keep up the good work on the mod though, looking forward to it
yes, i did mean mob. i saw them in the older news updates, but they weren't listed as a mob in the newest list. i was wondering if they had been cut.
