hey heres 3 suggestions when u updated the mod to 1.7.10 can u make the time machine fly?...to explore the time destination your in..maybe like a button when your in the *ship* to flight mode and heres the 2nd suggestion...when u make a paradox theres a 5% chance that a giant black hole will destroy that time zone and you have like about 5 minutes to fix it..which im pretty sure in every time travel movie i saw....is about messing around with time and making a paradox...then fixing it..and the 3rd suggestion is when the time machine *teleports* to the destination lightning rings go around it and then the time machine spins around and boom...at destination...so thats my 3 suggestions after you update to 1.7.10...and i honestly think the 3rd one is the hardest to code and so is the black hole thing..anyway i wanna know what you think of these suggestions so please reply back...
I'm not completely sure that these ideas fit the theme of the mod. The first and third seem more cosmetic than practical, and the Time Machine, for now, is meant to be stationary and static. The black hole idea is interesting but I would need to tweak it a lot to make it make more sense that fits in with the theme of the mod.
I have a suggestion. When travelling to the future, all actions taken there are recorded. When you return to the past and eventually go that far into the future, you will witness yourself come from the past and do the same things that you originally did. Also, if you interact with this instance of yourself too much, specifically kill him, it causes a paradox and either kill you as well, or causes other unwanted side effects.
The future is set in years, so it would require literally tens of hours, if not hundereds, to go one in-game year, let alone ten or twenty or one hundred. I would also prefer to not have to measure that data, as that could get jumbled up quite quickly and end up literally slowing the game down.
So i have an idea of how you can do the past self do waht you were doing
well lets say that 0 = to when you create your world and n = to the day that you are when you do the time travel thing if we consider that a player won't be able to make a time machine before (this is just a guess) day 7 then make a listener (thing that will record player movement and interaction with the world) to the day 3 and when the player goes in the past whatever the year that he selected a listener like he one at the day 3 will script the player movement and interaction and if you make a listener every 9 day it wont cause that much lag and the result of that listener can be stored in a .txt. Basicly i am proposing to make the mod script past player movement and considering that Custom NPC did the scripting to java work it should be a little bit easier than start from scratch. But this is just an idea so if you are not interested in this idea well continue your work. PS : I follow this mod since the first download was available and i really liked it so good job.
Charsmud one good question, when can we be expecting the 1.7.2 update to be ready, if it's nowhere close to being finished then can you make an estimate of when you could have it finished keep up the work this will be the best mod in history and one day we could be able to go back in time and see it all over again
I have actually updated the mod already: however, the update caused a whole lot of things to break and stop working, and with the added stress of school development is rather slow. I don't expect the mod to be released and updated any time soon, but hopefully it won't take too long.
Just a quick update: I've completely updated the mod EXCEPT for ore expansion for future travel! Very soon I should be able to release the update, I just need to get the AccessTransformer working.
I remember when you used to be able to steal diamonds from your past self and then magically have four times as many diamonds in the present before you had to stop as a result of paradox buildup.
Hi I love your mod. I'm actually surprised that you're the only one who's making a true time travel mod. Anyways I was wondering if I was to die in the past and lose all my stuff can I time travel back to right after I died and get everything back?
I have a deal to make with y'all: I have updated EVERYTHING to 1.7.10 except for Ore Expansion due to a field being made private and Java Reflection being buggy on me. While I'm fixing it, I can do a release with everything but ore expansion as a Development build (basically final version) which contains the updated mod minus future travel ore expansion, or I can fix the ore expansion and do a complete release. I would disable the ore expansion to prevent crashes, so it would simply be the mod updated without ore expansion.
I will eventually do a full release, yes, once I figure out why it is not working. For now, though, I'm planning on doing a release with FUTURE TRAVEL DISABLED until I fix the issue.
Cool I can't wait for the release! By the way is multiplayer support coming in the update? Actually I've heard that multiplayer doesn't work currently but do you just mean servers when you say multiplayer or do you mean LAN multiplayer as well?
