Wish you the best of luck with this even though I won't be able to download it when it's done 'cause my computer is the crappiest thing in the world... Anyway I wish I could help you, but I know 0 coding... BUT I am planning to learn so yeah good luck with this mod
Yea, there's some stuff happening. Currently, theres a few bugs preventing me from getting a prerelease out, but I'm hoping to get one out by Halloween. There's also a few secret features and things I'm also implementing.
NOTE: I'm still accepting applications! One thing I would like to stress though is that you should only apply for helping to program if you have the skill to: I will not accept you if you have little experience in programming.
TheChainMailCreeper here. This looks like a nice mod.lookin' forward to use it on 1.6.2/1.7 . The mod itself seems pretty advanced. Might do a mod review if you get it on 1.7 . Oh and is it possible to turn things into ruins and old buildings instead of destroying it?
mistarmax out.

I Support Forge to be official minecraft Modloader!
UPDATE: Lately, I haven't been posting much on this forum, mostly because I have been very, very busy with other programming business. However, I have still been working on this mod! I am currently working on a whole lot of major overhauls to many different aspects of the mod. Currently, I am making models for each block, which are all already implemented. I am also reworking how the player time travels: you will have to build a structure out of "time blocks" which will form a portal which goes to the past. You can then right click the core to add the Paradoximer (if you have it) to set the machine to go into the future.

I'm planning on turning things into old ruins and stuff like that.
If I'd travel into the past and destroy the portal, would I be stuck in the past if I wouldn't have the time blocks? And how would we get the time blocks? Will we find them in chests or craft them?
And just for fun, I'd trap myself to the past and shout "Marty! We've got to go back!To the future!"
The past travel would work the same: you still have a fixed amount of time before you are forced back to the future. The time blocks are replacing the current time block in the generated structure. I'm going to post pictures when I get more developed.
Looks very well thought out, not to mention the parts you have coded already look amazingly well coded. Can't wait.
Thank you.
I'm going to try to wrap up what's done to get a prerelease version out by Halloween. It will be IN NO WAY complete, keep that in mind. When I release it, I will update the OP with new information and pictures.
Oh! It's active!
I've only read to page 11 so i don't know how long you've come. Does past and future work?
I don't know if anybody have said this but it would be possible to see yourself in future. It's like in Back to the future. How the heck could the future Marty be there? Because in the end, he went to The Present. So if you travel into the future, you would see yourself, because you will come back to The Present and play until that day comes. Any sense? =)
But another thing that were in Back to the future 2, is that Biff saw himself from the future without blowing universe to hell. Because he didn't know that it was Biff. So, if you changed you skin and goes to the past, wouldn't it be possible for your second and past you to see you because he didn't know that you were the past you but older and that you comes from the future?
((I'm not good at English, I'm from Sweden. And this is my first post. Can i be a beta tester?))
EDIT: It could be another page then 11, I don't remember...
And do you expect Charsmud to create code that can predict all of your moves so that when you go back from the future, you will end up doing everything that the computer predicted you would do. Also, when you first travel into the future, there wouldn't be a past you because at the time, you never returned from the future, but when you go back to the past, you will have to make sure you know where not to be so that your past self doesn't see you.
I really hope that makes sense.
I give the suggestion that you merge your modding team with S.W.D the creators of the dalek mod as they could help you with code and textures and they have a time machine that doesn't currently time travel. It would be beneficial to both sides.
I am not merging with the Dalek Mod for many reasons, mostly the same reasons that TheiKing and I did not merge mods. Their mod is separate from mine: Doctor Who has no affiliation to this mod. I already have someone who can create textures and models for me, and, so far, I have been able to solve my problems by using minecraftforge forums and stackoverflow. They wouldn't be able to contribute much besides publicity and bug help (and maybe slightly faster development times), while they would get the whole premise of my mod, which is a compromise I just am not willing to make. I really would only partner with someone if we had the same ideas and were able to contribute to each other's projects, which is something that the Dalek Mod just cannot do for me at the moment. Unless they specifically come to me with legitimate reasons of why we should merge projects and why besides the reason "it would be beneficial" (because that really isn't saying anything), I'm not going to spend my time trying to convince someone that our mods should be merged.
charsmud, where did you start learning coding? I want to do a mod but when i look on tutorials i don't understand what i am doing. Do you know a place to start?
I originally started with a book called HeadFirst Java. It's a very good book that's written in a way that's easily understandable and comprehensible. Then, once you have a grasp on the language, you look at tutorials (look-up wuppy's modding tutorials).
As I have said before, the mod will not be updated to 1.6.4 until I have a stable pre-release that I feel comfortable releasing.
