Considering that paradox is related to time logic, causes and effects, I would suggest either undoing (most of inventory related paradox) or going to new time states "far" from those that are modified. You go to "far past" or "far future" then close the link with the "paradoxical" times, preventing you from going back.
Going to this "far period" also implies lots of modifications in the overworld that therefore "dilutes" the paradox. These modifications would prevent abuse of this method to lower the level in the paradox bar, because they have a chance to alter buildings and ressources. You may need to sacrifice ressources too, due to the energy required for the "far" time travel.

Been following this topic for months. Love it! But a suggestion: You should make it so that if your past self SEES yourself when going into the past, it would make it so that your past self would react accordingly.
hmmm the first idea that came to my mind is to kill your past self to prevent your past self saving his past self from a creeper but then you would still cause a paradox soo then i thought about this: a paradox machine that will slowly lower the paradox bar and i got a idea for the paradoxes what about as the the paradox bar gets higher it makes it more harder to travel through time like example: you try to go back 6 days in the past but end up only three days in the past (i know this is will be hard coding but if you think you can do it then go a head if not just wait till well a while so then i can help with the coding because with my lack of internet it will take a while

EDIT: Another idea, have you considered re-releasing the halloween release but for thanksgiving for a second chance for those who missed it due to reasons that they can not control? ex. Hurricane Sandy.

This is a neat concept over all; the only suggestion that I'd make is that when the paradox bar is completely full the future that you came from completely ceases to exist. You could go forward in time again only to find that all of your lovely buildings and changes to the world in fact never happened - basically the universe you came from is on branch 1 of the tree, so to speak, and you're stuck on branch 2 due to excessive paradoxes. Of course it gets complicated if you go back earlier in time to kill your earlier self when you first arrived and before you made all of the paradoxes to fill the paradox bar to begin with. Process-wise this seems like a potentially hard drive-heavy resource hog, but all in all I'm really curious to see what comes of this and will be watching intently.
Im a coder, but not for Java, ever time i get eclipse or something else, something goes wrong and I cant do anything in the workbench. But you REALLY should put up a progress download, there is no such thing as a 100% mod, because your just going to keep adding more and more. Also, you started this nearly 7 months ago, dont you think you should give the people that have been waiting to finally see what the mods like? More than likely, allot of people who got a first sight interest forgot about this mod. Because they cant judge it, looks good, sounds good, yet your just a tease to them. I think you should add a download link.

Maybe if you use an invisibility potion it would stop the paradox meter increasing for the time being Also this is a really cool mod, i've seen some before but they were just abandoned I can't wait 'til christmass :3

Another question/idea. You have 8 iron and you need to make an iron block. So you go mine 1 more iron and use it to make the block. If you go back in time and mine the iron ore before your past self, then return to the present, would you still have the iron block? Because you just stopped your past self from getting it so they didnt have the ore to make the block.

I am not releasing it for Thanksgiving. As I have updated the mod, I cannot rerelease the old Halloween version. The past self will try to kill the present self, or other behaviours.

It took a long time to get the past travel working, which is where the majority of the seven months came from. I'm not putting up a progress download because it's not in a great state most of the time, and I fix it up when i'm about to release. The Halloween version was completely fine; I'm sure people could have put five minutes from their life to download. I know that people were affected by the hurricane, but sometimes you miss stuff and you cannot do anything about it.

Thanks Btw inspecting the future part it is quite hard, i can only think of farming and nothing else,
because building is just the way you do it, so the game can't finish it for you
killing mob is the same, the mod can't possibly pick the mob and make it dead
So basically you can't do anything wich is not automated like moving, Yeah Future beats me as well.... sorry
maybe for the future part you can have it that when you go to the future it simulates what happens if you never came back to your present from the future (if you can catch what i am talking about) to save some time for some crazy coding you know
I haven't posted in a while because i have been quite busy. I have been following this mod since it came up on the forums but haven't made an account because i was too lazy to make one. Anyway, did you say that NPC villages WILL be affected by future travel??? I am looking forward to the release on Christmas because i missed the Halloween release anyway thanks for having the patience and determination for not quitting the mod halfway through like most people would. Thanks for making a great mod to follow.
I haven't decided about NPC Villages, because they do not expand and the villagers never leave unless exterminated. I am also making another video with more information about the new features.

If it helps; I read awhile back that in travel to the future you were considering having caves expand. If this is true you might want to try and contact the creator of the terra firma craft mod and see how he did stalagmites/stalactites. Also what model of dimensional motion are you using as a basis, m-theory, superstring, the notion that time is fluid, flux capacitors?????
Maybe, but that's not as high of a priority. Currently i'm implementing the paradox bar. I'm basing my time travel mod off of the idea that time is linear, IE that everything you do has an affect, which I am assuming will always cause a paradox, small or large. So basically, you have one timeline, and actions you do change that timeline.
