So, I've read the thread, and still don't understand whether or not it's a full-on tech mod. I know it's probably just my lack of decent comprehension skills, but I just can't tell whether I should get TE as my core tech.

I wouldn't say it's a full-on tech mod. It does add a bit of tech with the crusher, which turns each ore into two powders (each powder smelts into an ore, so you get double the ingots!) and a few other blocks, but the main feature of the mod is the ability to combine ore dusts to make new, more powerful ores (As well as adding lots of world-gen to make mining and exploring a bit more interesting). Metallurgy adds a few tool tiers above diamond, though the materials can be extremely tough to find (at least in large quantities).
I've always paired Metallurgy with some sort of tech mod like IndustrialCraft (long ago, before the mod became far too complex) or EnderIO. If you download ExtraTiC, the metallurgy metals can be used with Tinkers Construct to make some really broken tools (I have a hammer with over 31k durability that repairs itself at a fairly rapid rate ^_^).

There's no power mechanic (RF). Just ores and tools and armor (and dust). I wouldn't count the Alloyer or Crusher as tech

Thanks for clearing things up! I'm glad I don't need to leave TE behind. That and Metallurgy would work magic together, I imagine. I'll check it out with TiCon, too!

I would highly recommend all 3. They really do mesh well. And Metallurgy is kind of the bridge between Tinkers Construct and higher tech mods, because it adds ores for tools, machines, and both.
Hello everybody, I got a problem ; I am playing blighfall in technic but when I tryed create new world I got an error from fml about metallurgy. Can anybody help ?

Huh, that's weird. That's not an error message- that's the message you get when you remove a mod/it's blocks, and load an old world. Take that to the pack developers- it probably has something to do with their configuration.

I guess blightfall has own map and when I tryed create new world, game is creating his official map and in official map there is mettalurgy materials in caves so.. game can't create metallurgy materials in his official map. I checked mods folder and there is Metallurgy-1.7.10-4.0.5.75.jar and MetallurgyCore-1.7.10-4.0.4.18.jar for metallurgy mod
Well... if you just load the world, nothing that would cause a crash would happen. That message just means that you will lose all metallurgy blocks. Though, it seems like it is more likely that the modpack which is causing problems. Go report this to the modpack maker.
Also, that modpack's version is pretty outdated. Try updating to the newest version,

How do you craft Drawers? I've found them in the creative inventory and they appear to be a very useful portable storage item, except I have no idea how to craft them as the wiki doesn't have anything on it.
Actually, the metallurgy part of the log has nothing to do with the crash. It happens every time I load up the game and it doesn't crash. This is just an Aether mod crash- the error talks about missing classes, which have nothing to do with Metallurgy.

Unfortunately, this is not to be. Shadowclaimer is "currently" working on Metallurgy 5 which will be developed for 1.9 (according to the post). It will not be backported, and Metallurgy 4 will not be updated any longer. Unfortunately though, Shadowclaimer spends relatively little time on developing Metallurgy. The last we've heard of it was on the 14th of May 2016. So... in about a month or so we can declare it dead.

i have a question, how do i create molten metals/use them?

Tinker's Construct (yeah I know I'm late)

Hoping this comes to 1.10.2 someday.

Is there an open source for it by chance?
To sway any doubts.
Metallurgy 5 is back in production, I've been streaming development live every night at
RebelKeithy, the original coder of Metallurgy 2/3 is back and working on it.
We're looking at 1.13+ for the release, based on a lot of factors.

Awesome!
" 1.13+ for the release" just oof, well, at least we will have one ^^. Looking foward to it.
Any chance to get a 1.12 ver?
Will the high end metals (adamantine, altarus, tartarite) be included in metallurgy 5? And all of the ones in the current version, for that matter?
