In Metallurgy.cfg You might double check and make sure you have latest release and/or back up your configs, delete and let them re-create in the config folder.

Does said modpack have Iguana's Tinker Tweaks in it? Said mod makes most non tinker tools useless and/ore downgrades what they can mine by one whole tier. If that pack contains Tinkers' Construct try making a flint pickaxe, that will be able to mine copper, which you can make a pickaxe out of with a smeltery to mine iron or if you can make a pickaxe out of nether quartz, some mods add surface spawns of it in the over world.
I'm getting no abstractors, tar, explosives, etc... The utility ores are all completely useless (no crafting recipes, furnace recipes, etc.). There doesn't seem to be any config option to turn them on either. Are these not implemented, or available through a separate addon mod?
In latest release: no abstractor. Tar is made by cooking bitumen in furnace (use it like slimeballs). Fertilizer made from utility ores (I do not remember at the moment what four of the six are used in this release. TeamMetallurgy states it will change.) Explosives- no recipes at this time since they are still being worked on (you can check them out using TMI, cheats, etc.).
The Crusher glitches where anything crushed gets stacked into one slot. I had thrown in some stacks of gold ore and forgot about it, when I came back after closing the game and checking, I noticed there was only one dust inside the machines. They had become "Infinite" gold dusts.
Also, It kinda sucks that each of the machines require a certain kind of metal, sans the crusher since every tech mod and their mother adds Copper.
But I had to "re-enable" some of the alloys and gen some of the metals, which is not Ideal since there is a lot of overlap in terms of tools

I don't know what you're doing but I've never had any problems like that with the crusher. Biggest problem is that it wasn't designed to work with hoppers and that's just lack of a design feature, not a bug.

Freedom is more important than health, more important than safety or security. A life's worth is not measured by its length but by the length it is lived with liberty. Freedom above all.

Thanks, I see that now. The release I was using was slightly out of date.
Also, Metallurgy 4.0.6.80 got released, includes memory optimization of ore particles.
I'm just going to be blunt. All this vagueness doesn't do anything to inspire confidence. You keep telling everyone to wait and see, but right now, here in the present where we're looking at the mod and what it has, you're not offering any information. That means you're not giving any reasons to stick around. I keep hoping that something in this version of Metallurgy will make me like it as much as I liked the previous versions, but so far, nothing has. Right now, based on what information I have available to me, ignoring all vague hinting that something, someday will be getting added and how great that will be, because I have nothing concrete to go off of in regards to that, Metallurgy 4 looks less like a continuation, and more like a stripped down knock-off. I know that sounds harsh, but I don't think I'm the only one who feels that way either.
I want to believe in this project. I'm sure everyone wants to believe this is going places. You're going to have to give us something a little better than Waits and Maybes, though.
Threw Ore into the crushers.
Thats what I am doing.
Luckly these machines are purely stepping stones till I get around to making GOOD machines, already have my mekanism crusher up.
I don't even use the M4 crusher anymore. I use the EnderIO Crusher. Ender IO has a chance for more than 2 dust and it's upgradable with capacitors and grinding balls to increase speed and output. I can't believe I never heard of EnderIO before. It works with all my mods BC RC M4 MCI Craft, and it's beautifully done. It does all the M4 ores except for a few (I don't know why) and it's fully compatible with pipes, hoppers and everything else. Not just that but all of EnderIO's machines can be set with a GUI as to which side does exactly what: INPUT/OUTPUT/BOTH/DISABLED/NONE and is powered by RF.

Hey, in the interest of better naming conventions, please read my post on the subject. I just made it and will be directing my favorite mod creators over there, in the hopes that soon I won't have to hunt through a cheat sheet just to use your items in a /give command.

My YouTube channel is currently on hiatus, but I hope to get back to it at some point. Content is fairly random, but can be enjoyable, and is mostly game footage (mostly random Minecraft clips) from my nephews and me. Most popular MC vid so far is the one Vechs laughed at on Twitter!

Your complaint have been noted,
But, you have to remember that most mod developers me included are doing this for fun, and have work / Social life.
The mod will go forward, it won't be like third version as things are planned to be removed and new things going to be added.

Just for your information, the names you get in /give command is ModID:ItemNamedID or ModID:BlockNamedID.
You don't need a cheat sheet to look them up. all you have to do is press tab to auto complete, and display a list for you.
As so those are IDs, when those changed they get removed from your world. if you remember a version of Metallurgy 4 in 1.7.2 removed the machines because of Name ID change. so I'm not going to risk renaming stuff at the moment.
In a final note, you shouldn't use /give with modded items/blocks as some require NBT data, it would lead you to crash or have a non expected behaviour.
