inside the minecraft folder there is a config folder. Inside the config folder you will probably see
a subfolder for Custom Ore Gen and it may have a folder called 'modules'. You want to edit
the 'Metallurgy.xml' file found in one of these subfolders.
You will need to use a text editor like Notepad++ or Crimson Editor or some other xml editor.
Around line 685 begins the <!-- * sulphur * --> config section.
Anywhere in that section that you see: 'Metallurgy:utility.ore'
Change it to: 'Metallurgy:utility.ore:0'
I do not know if that will be read by the mod correctly or not. I do not run custom ore gen.
I know that is how I had to specify it in other mods so it did not pick that generic utility block as
apposed to sulphur.
Finally: the folks on the Custom Ore Gen thread may give you a lot better info on this than I have.
Sorry I took so long to respond to your instructions. I DID try your solution, but it just seemed to double the gen-rate of this useless junk, as seen in the pic below. If I missed a fix for this, please respond with that repair. Thanks, Nish the Fish.

Probably best to check with the folks on the COG thread (first revival?) and see if anyone there runs with M4.
You've awoken on this barren wasteland planet, a civilization once ruled and proud, but where is everyone? All the buildings are empty, nothing remains, all that can be seen is mass hordes in all directions of zombies, skeletons and other creatures never before seen. Inside isn't safe, Outside isn't safe, what will u do to survive this planet and escape? Can you survive the 1st day without death claiming you?
There is no natural light, when night time comes it's pitch black, no moon light and all that is heard is the scratching and moaning of whats around lurking to destroy you. Mining reveals unbeknownst horrors from the rocks just waiting to come out and devour your soul. Puddles of liquid blue or purple are not water, but also intent on harming you.
This might be a silly question, but could you add "support" for Aquaculture? Aquaculture adds in the "Neptunium Ingot", but I would like to also have a "Neptunium Dust" and "Neptunium Ore" and whatnot.

You would be better off asking the crew over in the AOBD Thread. That mod is all about handling cross-mod compatibility for mod ores.
Whenever I try mining a higher level ore (e.g. Atlarus) with low-level pickaxe (e.g. bronze), it just breaks the block rather quickly without yielding any ore. Would it be possible for it to work like mining obsidian with iron pickaxes - breaking the block very slowly if the pickaxe isn't high enough? Thanks!

I feel like that would break Minecraft's mechanics. This would be like mining a diamond ore block with a wooden pickaxe; Sure, it'd take a long time and it'd be cool to get that diamond, but it would mean skipping a whole level and purpose to the game like trying to get iron ore to mine diamond to mine obsidian and what not. Plus, it'd be a large waste of time waiting for that one ore to yield.

I think what he means is instead of breaking quickly and yield not or ore it would take a minute and yield no ore. Its been a while since I tried to use iron on obsidian but last time i tried it took over a minute to mine and destroyed the block with out yielding anything. If that is what Contramundigo-next meant the I would second that request.

The dust maybe if it have a use, ore nah, Neptunium is made to be acquired not mined
We will consider updating when we finish the scheduled things for 1.7.10.

Ok. When I saw the last post was in 2014 I was a little worried. This is my all time favorite mincecraft mod.

I should have probably also noted Aquaculture is from Team Metallurgy (by extension, I believe Glassmaker is in charge of Aquaculture too).

That is exactly what he meant; there is no other way to interpret his post.
Mining speed is generally an indicator of "what works" and what doesn't when it comes to mining hard blocks (soft blocks are more inconsistent).
Just got busy with life and other stuff.

Metallurgy is next on the list for development

there is a wiki just it's in the early stages, http://metallurgy-4.wikia.com/
the best way is to use NEI at the moment.
