ANOTHER EDIT:
I found a single prometheum and infuscolium ore, but it took some wandering away. Still have yet to find any saltpeter and some of the supposedly "less rare" fantasy metals. Any idea why this might have happened? Perhaps the problem was fixed and the chunk I found the ores in were newly generated chunks? Does that mean all I have to do is explore further outward to find all the ores after the spawnrates are fixed?
Thank you!
Thanks for informing us that prometheum and infuscolium are also low.
yeah, the fix will work on newly generated chunks.
I worked it out: Astral Silver was dropped to tier 4 replacing aredrite. I also noted that silver is actually tier 2 instead of 1. Eximite is tier 4 and desichalkos is 5.
TeamMetallurgy: would you like an updated spreadsheet at some point or should it wait in case you have plans that may change the tier system of pickaxes?
Mem
We don't have plans for modifying, so you can work on a spreadsheet
Glad for the feedback dude. I'm so happy to see Metallurgy out for 1.7.2. I'vekinda fixed manganese for my save so I can still make a decent amount of steel (steel being my favorite addition).
Are you going to re-add some of the simpler stuff? Random metals making rails and other devices was nice. Have you done testing to make sure hoppers play nice with the new Alloyer? In my old Metallurgy build, hoppers were a lifesaver, letting me grind metal while I attended to other matters. I think I managed to crash my game hooking up a hopper to an alloyer somehow but I'll replicate that later.
EDIT: Screwing around with hoppers and the crusher. There doesn't seem to be any logic to where the items are put into the crusher when hoppered into there. Furnace logic is: Top is material, side is fuel, out the bottom is the result. I use the crusher and either the top or sides fill the ore slot, and if the ore slot is filled the items go into the fuel slot. Could you change that so that a side hopper fills the fuel slot, and the top fills the ore slot, exclusively?
ExtraUtils pipes have a bit of trouble connecting to the crusher, but that's another mod and not high priority. maybe it's caused by the busted hopper logic?

You're welcome,
We have got a crash report using the hoppers and the crusher / Alloyer, it should be fixed with the latest Metallurgy 4.0.2.8 and Metallurgy core 4.0.2.4
I will be looking into the hoppers not having logic with the crusher and ExtraUtils issues with the crusher
More feedback! Speed values seem a little... goofy. For example, my Damascus Steel shovel's speed far surpasses diamond's, blasting through dirt uncharacteristically fast. I think some values were goofed a little - everything seems a touch too fast for some reason. I mean, I enjoy speed, but it seems a bit off.
I'm submitting so much feedback because this mod is pretty much my favorite! It's the most metal mod out there.
As part of Metallurgy's addons, normal ores are put onto our spawn system of no height restrictions, we felt this created a more fun, exploratory system for mining. If you want to change Vanilla metals back to their old values, simply crack the Core config and under ores disable all of the listed ores (should all be vanilla names) which will reset anything we change about them.
Does this feature still exist in the versions for MC 1.7.2? If so, I cannot find any setting in the Core config and where can I disable it?

I've gotten crashes now several times when using crushers in combination with hoppers. If a hopper is placed below a crusher, it works for a while, but eventually stops working (the hopper's ticking behavior no longer pulls items from the crusher's output slot). Removing the hopper and replacing it sometimes resolves the problem, sometimes not. Removing the crusher and replacing it caused an immediate crash with a "java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 4". I've also had saved games with crushers atop hoppers crash on load with the same exception. This is with 4.0.2.8 & core 4.0.1.16, will try updating core to see if that helps. Edit with update: Updating core to 4.0.2.4 appears to have fixed the crash with the crusher, but now a hopper under an alloyer empties the right input slot ahead of emptying the output slot, which is really quite unhelpful.Full stack trace:

Hi kellypyrzqxgl,
It's a known issue, and it's fixed in development, just need to check it before pushing it out for you guys
I was noticing some Metallurgy 4 ores/dusts has Thaumcraft aspects assigned to them. Woo!
(Part of me thinks this just may be a result of the aspects getting defined elsewhere and Metallurgy 4 won't purposely have Thaumcraft support. I hope I'm wrong, I love Thaumcraft.)
Was there any add-ons for the previous incarnations that combined Metallurgy and Thaumcraft?
M3 feature= Midasium Dust + any Dust = Gold Dust.
Appears not functioning in M4 at this time. (tried by alloyer and crafting table) Using latest release.

M4 didn't add Thaumcraft aspects yet, so it's probably defaults or something else adds them.
M3 on the other hand have support in version 3.3.3, which is having some issues and removed from downloading.

Does anyone know if are there any compatibility problems with this mod with Underground Biomes Constructs or Tinkers Constructs? Or any of the big biome mods like BoP or Highlands? Any other compatibility issues I should be aware of? I'm working on assembling a little modpack of my own for a 1.7 Forge profile that will focus on crafting, mining, farming and resource utilization. Would like to avoid any headaches if at all possible. Any input would be much appreciated.
(I did try to look through the thread but couldn't find any comments that were specific to what I'm asking. Sorry if this has already been discussed.)

Not I know of ORabbit. if you find any let us know
Also, I think there will be limited compatibility with tinkers as ExtraTiC isn't updated to 1.7 yet.
Awesome! I am about to start creating a new 1.7.2 server and I just couldn't play Minecraft without this mod.
Has anyone done HD textures (256 or 512) for the ores and metals in this mod? Last time, a long while ago, (Minecraft 1.4) I had to manually convert each to HD and it took forever!
For those of us who hate vanilla Minecraft textures and use HD textures such as LP Photorealism, please say updated graphics exits for this awesome mod!
Could you make a Metallurgy 4 for 1.6.4? I don't want to have to upgrade to 1.7.X.
As they had to basically rewrite the mod for use with 1.7.2, that would not be possible. Minecraft's core workings changed pretty drastically between 1.6.4 and 1.7.2. There's a reason its taken so long for a majority of the most loved/big mods to make the transition. Most were rewritten from scratch.

Sorry, no Backports for 1.6.4, as it would take a long time and effort to do, and it would split the community in 1.6.4 to Metallurgy 3 and Metallurgy 4, there for it would be a waste of time.

I thought this topic was a rip-off because shadow didn't make it, I didn't realize he had left, thank you so much for the update! You might wanna stick the 1.7.2 tag on the topic name, that also made me think this was fake
Owww :'(
yeah, sadly shadow left the team
I thought the search tag is enough for 1.7.2, as I'm using it as a prefix so it shows to the left of the topic
Speaking of those widgets...is it possible to include a link to the Curseforge page? For some reason for the last month I have not been able to pull up any curse.com pages on my computer. I can get them on my phone but that does not help me download the mod.
Not yet released, was busy with stuff recently, now we are making sure that they spawning correctly.
Thanks for the generation stats
Testing the fix to makes sure it's working properly before releasing it
Thanks for informing us that prometheum and infuscolium are also low.
yeah, the fix will work on newly generated chunks.
We don't have plans for modifying, so you can work on a spreadsheet
The on textures will be added
I think that there is one in the works for M4.

I will check the speed issue in couple of days
The ore configuration is in Metallurgy's config, The vanilla ores configs aren't in yet, so they are using vanilla spawning configs
