The Mo' Furnaces mod is a mod that (as the name says) adds Mo' Furnaces! This mod was developed by JumpyBlock (AKA:Mattkx4). I very much hope that you enjoy my mod!
The Iron Furnace that is added by Mo' Furnaces is crafted with Eight Iron Ingots in the furnace shape (Iron Ingots around the border of the crafting table)!
Considering that it uses iron (that is better than stone by the way), the Iron Furnace is slightly faster than the regular furnace. At first you don't notice much, but just a little bit faster adds up quite a bit when you are smelting a lot of items. The numbers come out to be something like; the Iron Furnace is about 1:30-2:00 minutes when smelting a stack of items.
Gold Furnace:
The Gold Furnace is crafted in the same way as a regular furnace (and the Iron Furnace) except with Gold Ingots (gold ingots around the border of the crafting table).
The Gold Furnace (just like gold tools) is very fast, but has a pretty annoying setback. The Gold Furnace can't smelt ores. It can smelt everything else, except ores. But this isn't that bad putting account that the gold furnace is much, much faster than the regular furnace!
Diamond Furnace:
The Diamond Furnace is crafted in the same way as the previous furnaces just with diamonds instead.
The Diamond Furnace is just a little bit slower than the gold furnace, but it can smelt everything! If you got a lot of Diamond Furnaces, you would be in good shape (smelting wise).
Brick Furnace:
The Brick Furnace (as always) is crafted in the exact same way as the regular furnace, but instead with brick blocks (not just brick, the actual block). The brick furnace is faster than the iron furnace, but slower than the diamond furnace. It's a good compromise!
Netherrack Furnace:
The Netherrack furnace is crafted in the same way as the regular furnace, but with netherrack instead (sound familiar?).
Since there are enormous amounts of netherrack (in the Nether of course), I decided to make the netherrack furnace very slow. Like, faster than the regular furnace, but barely.....
Picture N/A
Obsidian Furnace:
The Obsidian Furnace is crafted the exact (key word “exact”) same way as the regular furnace, except.. you guessed it... with obsidian.
The Obsidian is (depending on how you look at it) the best furnace. It is the same speed as the gold furnace, but unlike the gold furnace, it can smelt everything! So faster than the diamond, and more efficient than gold!
Quartz Furnace:
The Quartz Furnace is crafted....... yup.. just like normal, except with quartz block.
The Quartz Block is the exact same speed as iron. Yup.. I ripped you off with the iron stuff.

Upcoming features in v2: Redstone Furnace Cactus Furnace End Stone Furnace
A few more furnaces....
A cheat addon (includes coal multiplier, and a few other OP things)
An Upgrade Furnace Item (for the Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Obsidian Furnaces)
Only 1 download? Sadness. I'll be implementing much more "creative" features in the next update. That includes a new type of redstone (for the Redstone Furnace), the Cactus Furnace (Already fully functional), and some more awesome things (maybe an anvil furnace?). All the support is appreciated!
v2 should be released in about a week or two! It should be a lot of fun There's cool special features like the cactus and redstone furnace. Maybe even an anvil furnace.
I'll also be adding a cheat addon download, that has a lot of OP stuff.
While being thorough is good, I don't feel adding an extra step to the installation process is necessary. If people don't know how to install something, they'll normally search the thread on how to do so. Unless there's an actual need for the extra steps (such as Millenaire or Corosus' mods), then it's best to keep room for error to a minimum by conforming to the way other mods are normally packaged. I would recommend that you distribute just the .jar file rather than a zipped jar, as to minimize room for error. If you're set on including the text files, you could always include them directly into the mod's .jar file.
Of course, this is not a requirement of you. Just a friendly suggestion. I'll test the mod and add it to the modlist momentarily. Keep up the good work!
EDIT:
Your mod is live on the modlist. You may see details about the clicks it receives here.

Suggestion was taken Updating the installation instructions (and download) right now
Hey, I just recently hit 100 DOWNLOADS. For a starting modder like me, this is a huge goal Please give me feed back on what I should (or shouldn't) do! v2 Should be released in about a week or so!
One suggestion to further each furnaces uniqueness is to have the nether rack furnace not need fuel (or use MUCH less fuel). Since nether rack burns indefinitely I could see it maybe being slightly faster than the vanilla furnace but not need fuel. It would be a little faster from all that heat from an un-ending flame.

That's a great idea! I will definitely get to work on that ASAP!

I've only tried the obsidian furnace so far, but it is wonderful! I like to build glass block walls, and with the vanilla furnace, I end up spending a lot of time twiddling my thumbs while waiting for batches to smelt. Now production keeps up with building!

Thank you for creating this mod!
Thanks! I just hit 1,000 Downloads on this mod, so I'm hoping to get a lot more publicity!
I put iron chunks in the obsidian furnace and they don't smelt. They smelt fine in the vanilla furnace.
This is because my furnaces have custom smelting recipes, and since this item isn't included on my smelting recipes it won't smelt properly Sorry, but I'll see if I can make it compatible!
Since Metallurgy mod is rising in popularity again, would you consider making your furnaces compatible with it? It makes me sad to see that I can smelt iron, but I can't use your furnaces to smelt all those awesome and powerful Metallurgy ores.

Could you provide a config, so we can just add/remove smelting recipes? This mod is just too BOSS to not be compatible with other great mods. Thanks for creating such a great variety of furnaces!

Ugh, I saw a nice patch of obsidian too and didn't bother to take the time to mine it - hope I can remember where it was!
Thanks!
I knew my mod would come in handy somewhere I hope you enjoy it! I'm already working on v2! (Cactus Furnace is fully functional)
I'll also be adding a cheat addon download, that has a lot of OP stuff.
Nope, no one has yet A showcase would be awesome
