Mini-Bosses - Make your world a bit more dangerous! This is the end[Updated 08/14/15]
Poll: What Minecraft version are you using this mod with?
Ended Jul 12, 2015
No problem! Its on the github and small and off to the side. Here you go!
Ok so I got this item called heart of the saviour. And though it clearly states what it does, I'm not quite sure how to use it and I can't find it on the wiki. Right click doesn't really do anything and I see no recipes to make it in and no way to equip it. Do I just keep it in inventory?
Oh and on a separate note. I reduced spawn rate of all mini bosses to 1 in order to keep the inferno golem population in check but this doesn't seem to have affected them at all. What do the numbers in the config file exactly correspond to? What frequency in terms of time/tick and already spawned mini bosses?
The wiki is a bit out of date on items. As for the heart, so long as it is in your main inventory it will revive you on the same spot where you died when you do die(Although your items will not stay in your inventory), but putting it in the chest slot of your armor inventory will give you the strength and regeneration potion effects so long as it's in there. As for the mobs, the numbers refer to their spawn "weight"(The probability of them spawning). Here is an example from BiomeGenBase.class, where vanilla spawns are implemented:
As you can see, most hostile mobs have a spawn rate in the hundreds, while passive mobs are in the 10s like my mobs. You are likely seeing mobs that have already spawned, and there isn't really anything I can do about that. If you want to you can use CoFH core to remove them or some other mod/tool to remove them. Or if you are worried about getting OP drops you can just destroy them once you receive them.
Kk thank you
You're welcome!
so i tried out this mod today for the first time, though i've had it sitting around in my folder for a few weeks now, a few things. i enjoy the variety of new mobs alot though
1: after killing 4 or 5 of the crawler things and jumping that nether pole for the loot i got an enchanted diamond sword every time, that seems pretty OP. they should not always be diamond
2:i fought the feeder enemy a couple times and each time it destroyed my diamond sword, is that supposed to happen? it didnt drop it it was just gone
3: several items such as medusa's eye are missing textures/functions
1. I'll make that a config option
2. this is intentional. While I was writing the feeder it was supposed to be way different. To stick with the theme I instead added item eating. At the time, I didn't think it would be a big deal. In hindsight though, this is a pretty big deal. I'll add a way to get the items it eats back.
3. What version are you running? Some older versions have missing texture issues.
where is the most recent download link? il try updating
Lucky for you a new build is out with some new features! You can get the latest build here.
thats cool, btw regarding the feeder, maybe he should attack and eat other mobs and get more powerful
That is exactly what the new feeder does. Its how I intended it to be when I first released it however I had some issues getting it to actually attack the other mobs. Finally I got it working.
There is an odd graphical glitch that doesn't really affect the gameplay in any way. When fighting an iron zombie, he steals your weapon. Once you kill him, he drops it and an additional sword. You pick it your original weapon and the iron sword it drops, but the second sword icon floating on the ground remains until it disappears just like any item left floating on the ground, but without an ability to pick it up (like a ghost image).
With all the time I have spent server siding this mod I can't believe I forgot to server side iron zombie weapon drops. Its a client side only weapon, it doesn't really exist on the server, so it can't be picked up. I'll fix it when I get a new release out since its not a huge deal.
i mined some stone and it came to life! then i killed it and got a "forseer's gem" was that your mod? and if so what does it do?
Yes it is! I really need to update the item wiki. The Foreseer's gem, so long as it is in your inventory, gives your enemies a 35% chance of missing an attack on you. However, if you drop it after holding it, it will despawn in 3 seconds due to its properties. It also can be used to activate a beacon.
New release out! Fixes iron zombie ghost item issues and balance the eye of medusa. The item wiki has also been updated!
cool just got the new version, also that forseer gem is realllllly OP, did u know it blocks falling damage too?i keep jumping off my buildings with it and surviving. maybe it should absorb only 100 instances of damage or a certain amount of damage before it breaks?
btw where is the item wiki i dont see a link to it
Oh hey, MC forums ate my link, great. Here is the link: https://github.com/Tyler1555/Mini-Bosses/wiki. As for the gem, I think a 35% chance is fairly balanced, you just happen to be getting really lucky.
