It would be totally awesome if you added horse carriages that you could ride with your friends and actually stand in and stuff like that. Well, maybe the standing in it part would be pretty hard, but just adding carriages that you can ride on would still be pretty cool!
The way I feel is that modders should not rely on a external API's for there mod to work . I know , and understand it saves them a lot of time , but also it means there mod is going to be held back for god knows how long until the mod author to this decides to update . Which he could take as long as he wants . My suggestion to all modders is to make your mod independent and not rely on others API's for your mod to run . Ars Magica I am looking at you , Animated player mod and better horses you too . I know its a bit more work guys but come on . By needing another mod/API for your mod to work will only keep your mod developing held back , and at the same time it does not help the moding community at all .
I will never know why Ars Magica went to needing this API to even run. I know I seen somewhere that the Ars Magica 2 mod author gave a huge technical explanation that may be true as to why he swapped to needing this but all in all I think it has a lot to do with being lazy and by needing this API it saves him a lot of time in making the mod while at the same time putting all the people that use the mod and play with it on the back burner waiting for a 1.7.10 release .
Please note I am not trying to be rude and I fully understand a lot of time goes into making theses mods , and hell there made for free which is saying a lot considering the content these mods add is sometimes a whole lot . I mean look at the content that goes into All the GTA games , theres no way in hell they could be put out there for free , and also I tend to cut corners a lot myself on things when codding . I am only human, and we all have a lazy bone in us somewhere .
With such a popular mod though the mod should be a all in one type deal that needs no other silly API/mod to run . Just my opinion , and sorry if i offended anyone .

The thing with this mod, and the Animated Player mod, is, that hippomaster made the API, this and the AP mod rely on, himself, so he will update the mods without needing to wait on another person to update his/her API
Everyone loves horses! But sometimes, do you ever feel like some things could be improved? Do you feel like the horses' animations and behaviors seem a bit, might I say, too blocky? Don't you want smoother more horse-like animations? Then this is the mod for you!
Professor HippoMaster presents to you the Better Horses Mod! This mod replaces vanilla Minecraft's horses with similar new and improved horses! Although they look the exact same, these modded horses have many added and replaced animations as well as various minor fixes and improvements. You name it! From new animations to new animations to... yeah, that's about it.
Note, as of now, only adult horses and donkeys are animated.
Animations
Many original horse animations that looked choppy (tail swiping) have been replaced with slicker, more stylish animations while other new animations have been introduced to make the horse seem more natural! The animations are listed below:
Walking animation
Galloping animation (when you're riding on it)
Take shaking animation
Grass eating animation
Head shaking animation
Rearing animation
Jumping animation
Screenshots
Need more visual proof? You can't really see animations from pictures, but here are some freeze frame poses.
Uninstalling and Config
Want to remove the mod? Need to update Minecraft? Read this section very carefully.
Before uninstalling, follow these instructions:
A .cfg file can be found in .minecraft/config and can be opened with a text reader (notepad, etc). Inside the config, you'll find one line that says this:
B:UseBetterHorses=true
If this is true, then the game will use the modded horses. If this is false, the game will use vanilla horses. Before uninstalling, change this to false like this:
B:UseBetterHorses=false
Then, run Minecraft.exe and open each world once. Now, you can uninstall the mod or update Minecraft. Remember to do this, because if you don't, you will lose all your horses.

It really is too bad that this died out so quickly. It would've been marvelous to see Prof. Hippo's skills being applied to these in a multiplayer scenario, as well as any other mobs he felt worth animating. I won't be unrealistic and say I'd expect him to do every single mob in the game, but I would damn sure appreciate every bit of improvement he made.
Same thing happened to me, so I removed the mod.

will you animate others animals ?
can you help download it for me
I can get it to work Does someone Know how to install mods?
Another awesome mod by you thehippomaster
. . .don't quote entire forum posts
that's cluttering and as rude as posting a crash report not in a spoiler
and don't ask mod authors how to install mods
you can do a simple Google Search and go to any of the thousands and thousands of videos on YouTube to learn how to install mods
it's legitimately annoying and spamful to do that
you're more than likely to be assumed as a troll by any moderators
