Im using a Macbook pro mid-2012 so its not a full size keyboard, however the fix you just posted is working great thank you so much, quite the speedy reply as well.
How do you get it to take screenshoys evrey 3 seconds?
Did you read the description and quick tutorial, and manage to install the mod? After that it should be fairly straight forward. Open the Multishot settings menu and set the interval to 3.0 seconds. Close the menu, move to where you want to record, and hit 'm' and the recording should start (and the HUD should indicate that, you can disable the HUD with 'h' by default).
I use FRAPS to do my film capture. What I really need is a way to move the camera while FRAPS does it's thing. Can I just use the Motion part of the app, while leaving the picture taking part off?

Yep, the screenshot taking part is completely independent, you can use just the motion stuff just fine.
Hmm so do you mean that you can't alt+tab out from full-screen mode? I didn't know that... From the top of my head I have no idea why, I'd have to look into it.
In the past before the "new launcher" that got introduced with Minecraft 1.6 and thus the resolution options in the launcher became available, I used to use a program called AutoHotkey, and a small script that would resize my Minecraft window so that I got 1280x720 resolution in game. But after the current vanilla launcher came out, and some time after that I personally moved to using MultiMC, which also has the window resolution option, I haven't used AutoHotkey anymore. And I realize that it is a cumbersome way to do it, but it might help you in the mean time.
The original Multishot had some resolution options, so I might look into adding those back in.
Also on my "would be nice to add some time"-list is third person camera mode, which would get rid of the need to run two instances of Minecraft to timelapse your own builds. That would probably also come with resolution settings at which the extra camera would render the world at. But I haven't looked into that at all yet and I have no idea how hard that would be to do, and what kind of a performance hit it would cause. But most likely it would mean about twice the rendering load...
And yeah, the smooth motion stuff... I haven't done much of anything for Multishot in over a year, except a couple of bug fixes and some code clean-up...
That smooth motion stuff just got forgotten after I didn't have any idea how to calculate the spline curve stuff from the points So that would get added in as soon as I magically get that information from somewhere, or someone tells me what I should be doing to achieve it
Hi masa_fi! Your mod is really inspiring. I hope to do a lot of stuff with it! I can't run any screen-capturing software on my Mac, so I'm hoping this'll do the trick.
I used Forge and placed your mod into my mods folder, and it runs and everything. (I'm using Minecraft 1.7.10 & build 1558 of Forge) My question now becomes "how do I run two clients from the same computer?" The idea is to do both things on the same computer, no? Build and screencap?
By the way, you rock, even if you can't answer my question.
You can do both from the same computer, or from separate computers. I'm assuming you are playing single player? In that case, you would build/play with your regular account and open the world into LAN from the menu. Then, assuming you only have one Minecraft account, I believe you would have to start another instance of minecraft but give it the wrong password so that it fails to log in, and then select "play offline". Although I haven't checked if that is still possible... Assuming it works, then you would use Multishot in that "offline" instance (well it doesn't really matter, but then you would have your proper skin and character to actually play and build with) and connect to the world that you opened up to LAN. I think it might show up in the menu automatically, or if not, then connect to the loopback address ie. 127.0.0.1 via the multiplayer menu.
I don't use the vanilla launcher so I'm not sure if this works with it nowadays, so maybe using a combination of the vanilla launcher and for example MultiMC 5 to launch two instances would work better.
Also, to be able to alt+tab out of minecraft without it pausing, you should be able to toggle that ability with F3 + P.
Oh, yeah. That makes a lot of sense, actually. I should use two separate launchers or MultiMC or something. That's helpful! Thank you. All that stuff sounds like it would work to me.
Also, I'm curious, is there a way to make the screenshotting player follow my builder? I saw that you can set up a path for the screenshotter to follow, but I didn't see anything about... I don't really know what to call it, other than on the fly redirection, if that makes sense. Can the screenshotter improvise a path, or must it be programmed in?

Unfortunately no, I hadn't even thought about that to be honest... Personally I have just set up the recording player in such a position that he should see the whole building or work area. Or set up the circle mode to move around the to-be-built building, or set up a path around the build area etc.
But that is actually an interesting idea, having the recording player follow another player. I just don't know how exactly that should work... So would he just turn in place to always look at some other player? Or should he try to keep at a certain distance (or range)? But then how would he decide how to move and so forth. And he shouldn't get stuck behind blocks or walls or into corners etc. so that might be really tricky to code so that it works in a meaningful way. And also how to tell him who to follow...
There is also the awesome Replay Mod, which I haven't personally tried yet. So I don't know if it has recording/capture options in itself, but you might be able to combine it with Multishot. That way I believe you wouldn't even need two instances of Minecraft running, you would set up the Replay mod to effectively record the game world changes, and then you would play that back and capture it with Multishot. But since Multishot is based on screenshots, that might not be super great. Maybe OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) would work better with it, that should also be available for OSX, and it is free.
Sure that would be a nice option to have. It might just get confusing or tricky to manage that, like how would you select which settings are used for a point? There would need to be a quicker way to select the active preset for adding points than through the menu. And at which point would the setting transition to the next point's settings? And how would it transition, instantly or gradually, if the latter then over what time or distance etc...
I think probably the only per-point setting that actually makes sense is the speed. Changing the mode wouldn't be that useful, you can mimic that effect by adding more points if you want a linear-ish path segment in the middle of a curved path (which doesn't even exist yet anyway ;_;).
So yeah, I might add that when I have the time to work on this mod again. I'd really like to add the smooth path mode at least, just need to figure out the math behind it.
It has actually been ported over a month ago already. It seems that I don't link to the CurseForge project page from the first post at all, so I'll need to fix/update that post... I'm actually not updating the post anyway, so I'll need to point people to the CurseForge project page instead for updates and information.
This thing wont work....I hit the multishot start key and I didnt get anything. I looked in the folder and it was empty. I dont even know how to use this mod. I want to use it so I can record myself but this is a really complicated mod. I looked at the tutorial on the first page but it still doesnt make sense and doesnt help that the mod doesnt work
Cheers
