Yeah, the machine connections are kinda a mixed bag, one hand, less cables, on the other you kinda have to fight with it some to get shortest paths to work out right, some kinda of "don't connect on this side" might be an interesting change for the various blocks.
on the P2P, I plan to add some glasses or goggles at some point to help out with this.
PS: Pretty slick looking setup.
IDEA
Could have the ME Drives Multiblock up to 32 Drives and still require a channel for each block in the Multiblock

I think I like the idea about controlling which faces o the blocks connect better then randomly making drives a multiblock and adding unique behavior just to them.
Kinda ruins the consistency. I'm i'm a big advocate of consistency.
I just love this mod. Thank you sooo very much!! I have been using this since it's creation, and it has always been the main focus of all my worlds.
I especially like the 1.7.2 version. You are very creative and you invent matter out of thin air. You make playing Minecraft hard to quit. There is always another way to do something and a solution can always be found. You also draw very cool machines and networks that are naturally a part of the world. I appreciate your hard work.
Um when you've added the new autocrafting, can you then also add a "fuzzy" blank pattern maybe? So that the pattern ignores metadata and such and that it will use different kinds of wood, jungle for example, even when I told it to use Oak for let's say a chest...

Crafting will be significantly different in AE2. ( also AE1 can already use the ore dictionary, it just can't craft based on it )

Thanks, not only to you for your post, but also to everyone else that has taken a moment to post, or send me a positive message like this.
I don't often respond when I get these, but its usually just cause i'm busy and I don't know what to say lol.
It means a lot to me; especially lately that people are supporting me to continue, I've been getting a lot of negative criticism lately and hearing things like this help me push past it.
As a heads up when your updating you'll likely see a message about missing blocks ItemPart / ItemMaterial - please read - http://ae2.ae-mod.info/Tracker/0435/ for details.
Did I get it right? If I set the PowerUnit to EU, the IC2 powerratio to 1.0 and
the UsageMultiplier to 2.0 then the AE machines basicly work on EU? (I mean they do already, but visually)
And I can make the whole AE stuff consume more energy by incrementing the UsageMultiplier?
Well power unit already changes the power units displayed on the gui to EU and does the appropriate scaling, ( this is also an ingame gui option ).
adjusting the IC2 power ratio to 1.0 would make AE = EU, generally you should leave those alone unless your trying to make AE more expensive or cheaper for a specific power system.
Usage Multiplier multiply how much power the network uses, so if your network normally uses 8 ae/t a multiplier of 10, would make it use 80ae/t instead.

Significantly different? So no more blocks who craft stuff for you?
I really wonder how you're going to do it, can't think of anything really. I mean, crafting tables are also simple blocks who do the crafting.

Auto crafting will still exist for both crafting tables and non-crafting table recipes. but the means to achieve it will change from the MAC and the original setup so new things.
Edit: I have no idea what I was trying to say in the previous version.

Hey just wanted to say I love this mod too. I specifically downloaded it based on a video I saw that spotlighted the auto-crafting abilities of the mod, but even without them now in 1.7 for the time being I was still blown away how awesome it is so far. One thing though is that the compass can be very frustrating when looking for meteorites. Everything else is awesome so far, wish there was a way to extend wireless terminal availability a lot further too.

You can upgrades wireless points to use up to 64 boosters ( roughly 500 blocks range ), be are careful of this however, it uses a -lot- of power.

Awesome! I read somewhere you could only bring it out about 16 or 32 blocks away. Do I need to keep the main network chunk loaded to still access it or is the data for the network stored outside of the item? A related question - is there a limit to how many blocks I can run ME Cable from the main drive before I can't access a terminal?
any suggestion on building a stable power with buildcraft?
Probably the one of most reliable MJ power source is boilers from railcraft, if your just using BC, combustion engines I guess are the best. but you might want either consider turning the network off when your not using it and have BC Chips set to turn off engines when your system doesn't need power.

Thats for AE1. The network must be chunk loaded to access it.
Beautiful work there Mr. Algorithm
Really expecting further Improvements and updates, like Autocrafting, Additional Mod Support and among other Great Things
Keep up with the Good Work, and really could you tease us on how the Autocrafting will be? Please.

Maybe when i'm further along i'll post some screen shots. Too much stuff up in the air I have a solid direction I want to go but sometimes things change.
