Hey Pam, are you going to add more stuff into Desert Craft? Cause I have alot of neat ideas like:
Cactus Banner: A new symbol displaying a cactus
Bone Helmet Banner: A new symbol displaying a Bone Helmet
Cactus Blocks: Removed the spiky parts to form a soft building meterial by right clicking cactus with shears
Cactus arrows: Using the spike parts from the cactus block as a replacement for flint to make arrows.
Cactus Flowers: Bonemealing Cactus will grow pink flowers to get pink dye.
Cactus planks: Using four cactus blocks to make cactus planks
Cactus Crafting Table: Using four cactus planks to make a cactus crafting table
Spiked Planks, Cobble, Stone, or Sandstone: Turn some blocks to create a decorative defensive wall or floor.
Sandstone Furnace: alternative to a normal furnace.
Sandstone Armor: early iron gear with a slowness 3 debuff.
Sandstone Bricks: Decorative Block.
Also thought about adding in a Cactus Creeper and Cactus TNT that when explodes, shoots arrowish needles all around but doesn't destroy land. But I don't know how good you are at coding mobs so yeah. Hope these ideas inspire you to add more stuff cause I think these mods are amazing.
i searched the thread for "water chestnut" ... Pam or anyone: do you know how to plant these? i tried to put them in water (one block deep, on top of dirt) and it will not place... also it will not place on tilled dirt or tilled garden soil (from Garden Stuff)... well, they will plant but pop out a second later... i tried as a water chestnut and in seed form... they came in the water gardens and i was able to successfully plant the cranberry in water (one block deep, on top of dirt) in this update (1.7.10Lb)... thanks in advance!
edit: i was able to plant it as water chestnut, but still not in seed form... just FYI

Hey...um forget what I said up there about my ideas on desert craft. I recently started learning how to code all of the building blocks and stuff. So forget about all that. I kinda thought you won't be taking my ideas anyway so... I going to make all of the ideas i said up there and turn it into a mod. Kinda think of the mod as an addon for your mod. Ok? Ok. Going to make the Desert Construction mod right now.
Has anyone run into the problem in the last full 1.7.10 mod where you use a bucket of water in any Pam's recipe and it vanishes? This happens consistently with every recipe that calls for water. It's gotten to the point were I'll just cheat and snatch Fresh Water as needed, as I don't want to lose all that iron.
Hello everybody. I have a problem. I have a custom modpack (based on Direwolf20 1.7.10 modpack + quite a few mods) but i cant craft the apple sapling. Does the apple need to be one from a aplle tree from pams?
All ( really ALL! ) the food and crops added by harvestcraft mod seems to have an abnormal saturation ratio value of about 2 - 3 to me.
Like, for example, a simple apple juice give 5 food point, but also 12 saturation points, while just the apple alone still give 4 and 3.
A grilled mushroom give 2 food point, and 5 saturation points.
Any basic crops give 1 food point, but also 2 saturation points.
Any food that give 8 food point or more give the full bar of saturation (20), and I therefore have no use to make any big meal that would normally restore more.
After looking in the Configs, I found that most food should have a sat.ratio of 0.6, 1.2 or 1.6, but never 2.5. ... I think.
I made sure to NOT use Applecore to check these saturation values, so I can post this here.
I googled around for a bt and this seems to be an older Issue:
Playing with Agricraft 1.5.0 and Harvestcraft 1.7.10Lb, the Sesame Seeds do not drop their fruits when harvested from Agricraft-crops.
One possible solution suggested to me was to downgrade, but I am reluctant to do so because I like the newest additions... is there a fix for the missing Sesame out there? Minetweaker apparently can't solve the issue, and it also doesn't seem to be able to work with harvestcraft seeds in general: Whenever I try to add something I get an error saying "invalid Seed".
And if there isn't a fix, would it be possible to release a hotfix Pam? (^ ^)'

There is actually a fix that i discovered like 5 minutes ago. Don't use minetweaker to add sesame seeds to a ore dictionary, use zzzzz custom configs. Also in spoiler is what you want to write for it to work (OreDictionary.cfg is file name)
Any word on whether Harvestcraft will be updated for 1.9?
I think waiting for 1.8.9's release should be first. I was told 1.8.9 and 1.9 are similar in code so when 1.8.9 is released it would be faster to then update.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! What a funny idea!
There are almost as many changes from 1.8.9 to 1.9 as from 1.7.10 to 1.8. Depending on what your mod uses, there may be a lot of changes to make, or only a few. At least the blockstate/model jsons stay pretty much the same, except for some changes that can be done with mass search & replace. However, anything dealing with items in use/in hand has changed, some methods just had their names randomlly changed for no obvious reason except to inconvenience modders, and anything dealing with loot in chests is SOL. No ChestGenHook() any more, and Forge did not have a way to add loot jsons from mods as of the last time I checked.
I will be putting it up on CurseForge next Thursday! =)
Please note that the Market, Traps, and Cake Blocks will come back in the next 1.8.9 update, along with compatibility. Beekeeping stuff is getting it's own mod and everything else you should replace with mods that do it better (Growthcraft, Cooking for Blockheads, etc).
1.8.9a - The Most Annoying Update
- Removed: Market, Churn, Quern, Presser, Apiary, Beehives, Candles, Hardened Leather, Wax, Oven, Cake Blocks, Fish Trap, Animal Trap, Tool Blocks, Salt Ore/Blocks
- Removed: Thaumcraft, MFR, Mr. Crayfish, and other compatibility files
- Changed: Six gardens generate across biomes; use Config file to change drops (use at your own risk)
- Changed Tofu recipes: Silken Tofu (saucepan, soybean), Firm Tofu (skillet, silken tofu), Soymilk (pot, soybean)
- Changed Sapling recipes: Now require three fruits instead of one
- Known Bug: Several config options are broke. Will be fixed soon.
This is great, I've been waiting for your mod to jump into 1.8.9. Can't wait for the release

Make sure you have the latest version of NEI Integration or it will crash. I had the same problem and that fixed it.

Anyone know where I can find 1.8.9 Pams Harvest Craft?
Until someone ports this legendary mod I am leaving the minecraft scene. http://www.cosc.canterbury.ac.nz/greg.ewing/minecraft/mods/ArchitectureCraft/#mozTocId598776 I have watched too many legendary mods die and carpenters blocks sudden fallout out of mainstream made me cry. I realize the source is messy but some of the best mods from 1.6.4 and 1.7.10 were.
not out yet

I was wondering if there was a method for adding recipes to the oven.
Check out my modpack if you are looking for a tough modpack, though its still having stuff changed here and there: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/deadly-encounters
Also using agricraft and pam's harvestcraft and want to fix the sesame seed issue? I know how to check my bio for link to see how to fix it.
