Just to point out that the list of enchantments that Harryzochance posted can be found in .minecraft\MITE\reference\enchantments.txt. You can see what items can take those enchantments in the file item_enchantments.txt in that same directory. That can help you figure out what they must do.
Enchantment[51] Recovery: For a bow. Better chance of getting the arrow back when then Mob dies
Enchantment[80] Stun: Club, Cudgel, War Hammer. Presumably freezes the mob for a period so they stop attacking you
Enchantment[82] Fertility: Hoe, Mattock, or Sythe. Will create fertilized tilled soil when you create tilled soil with the hoe or mattock and will re-fertilize already tilled soil when using the sythe to harvest a plant. Pretty useless as by this time you probably have tons of manure anyway.
Enchantment[83] Tree Felling: Axe, Battle Axe. Knocks down up to 5 vertical logs at a time when knocking down a tree. Doesn't work horizontally on the large trees with horizontal branches. Very useful.
Enchantment[84] Vampiric: Dagger, Knife, Sword, Sythe. Not sure
Enchantment[85] Speed: Boots. increases your natural walking and sprinting speeds. Very handy.
Enchantment[86] Regeneration: Chestplate. Your hearts recover quicker after taking damage
Enchantment[87] Free Action: Leggings. Helps you get free of spider webs quicker and recover from paralysis quicker (ghoul attack). Very handy.
Enchantment[88] Quickness: Bow. Draws the bow back faster.
Enchantment[89] Accuracy: Bow. Presumably makes you more likely to hit your target. But how would it know that you had aimed wrong? Maybe you inflict more damage based on where you hit a mob and Accuracy would make it so you always hit them in that spot?
Enchantment[90] Poison: Bow. Temporarily poisons whoever you shoot with an arrow
Enchantment[91] Disarming: Sword. Causes a mob to drop their weapon. Very handy for having them stop attacking you with that weapon and for recovering the weapon once you have killed them. Means you don't have to rely on looting to get the weapon. This one wouldn't make them drop armor.
Enchantment[92] Piercing: Pickaxe. No idea on this one.
Enchantment[93] Harvesting: Hoe, Mattock, or Sythe. With a sythe it makes it so you can get up to 2 wheat when harvesting and causes it to harvest quickly. Sythe doesn't work on the other vegetables so I presume for vegetables you need that on a hoe or mattock.
Enchantment[94] Butchering: Dagger, knife. Not sure. Maybe you get more meat from an animal if used to kill them.
Enchantment[95] Endurance: Chestplate. Not sure. Probably lowers your metabolism (food consumption) when sprinting.
Thanks for your thoughts on enchants Pure. FYI Vamp heals you for a certain amount when you hit and hurt bad guys with the weapon.
Accuracy makes it so that your arrow goes where you shoot it better. If you stand way back this is really noticeable, your arrows will veer off target and hit different spots every time with your cross hair on exactly the same spot. With level and accuracy your aim gets better...mostly helpful on lower levels or for long distance sniping with like an adamantium bow.
Looking for advice on enchanting things...how much exp should I poor into each enchant? Is there a cap I shouldn't go over? How many bookcases do I need? Is mithril better at being enchanted than Iron or adamantium? The reference file talks about "enchantability" and lists numbers but I don't know what they mean...
For multiple enchantments on an item you have to use the enchantment table. It would be nice to combine enchantments by using enchanted books but unfortunately you only get the enchantment on the book. Enchanting a book itself is really bad as you can get anything on it. At least when you enchant an item with the enchantment table you know that the enchantments you will get are limited to what that item can receive.
Number of bookcases is the same as for vanilla, 15. I always go for the highest level enchantment. Might be just me, but I want the best of everything. I always cheat and backup my world when standing at the enchantment table so that I can enchant the item repeatedly. I have never agreed with the concept that you can't control the enchantment that you put on an item. It's a good thing too. It took me to the 9th try with a mithril sword to get one without Fire aspect, and luckily if had the Looting 3 that I wanted on it. Can you imagine burning through 18 mithril and ending up with 8 useless fire aspect swords in your chest?
I have the noticed that the quality of the enchantment appears to get better the better the metal. So you can get a really good enchantment on an adamantium item, not so good on a mithril item, and less still on an iron item. Avernite has a bug in the system in that the cost to enchant mithril is more than for Iron (makes sense) but the cost for enchanting an Adamantium item is the same as for Iron. Yay!
Vampiric Enchantment heals you a bit when you hit a mob? Thank you for that. I spelt it out here so people can hit that word in a search.
Are you sure the max level is 15? I have 22 book cases right now and each one seems to make it so I can do a higher cost enchant. I can only fit 24 total around the book case but then I need to find a way to get in and out since that makes a complete circle lol. How much exp does a max enchant cost? Right now my table can go up to over 5k exp. What I'm afraid is that past a certain point it's just wasted exp and it doesn't gain me anything.
the reference folder talked about different enchants costing differing amounts, and a max enchant costs 100...but 100 what? I can enchant a book with up to 5300 exp right now with 22 book cases. If I had 2 more it would be 5500 I think.
Does anyone know the break even points of enchants? Like how much exp I have to spend before I stop getting rank 1 stuff and start getting rank 2 stuff?
CORRECTION: When I added the last 2 book cases it stayed at 5300. So is that a max level enchant? 22 book cases and 5300 exp cost? (I'm using a book for this example, it would be different for different metal objects I understand)
Hmmm...Maybe it is different for MITE. I actually do my enchantment room 3 bookcases high with 3 x 3 in front of me and then each side being 3 x 3 for a total of 27 bookcase. I thought I was doing that because I liked the look of it. Maybe it is because MITE requires 27!
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has a location for server and client files for older versions of MITE, I am specifically looking for R118. please advise. Thanks
By all means I could just be a scrublord, but the starting "hunting and gathering" phase of the mod is just a horrible nightmare to deal with. Having pathetically low chances to get sticks from leaves is just infuriating and borderline skilless, same with beating gravel until you *happen* to get enough flint to build a hatchet to actually get wood. I don't care how realistic it is, I just can't find myself enjoying it.
Of course, the difficulty is the fun part of it, but there's a line between "difficult and rewarding" and just unfair and boring.
We are running into a ticking tile entity error on our server. Is there a known way to solve this? The only way that I can find is to delete the offending region.mca file, but that would be basically starting over for us because we built almost everything in that one area.
After attempting a redstone circuit with sticky pistons pushing stair blocks, the server is perma-crashing with a ticking tile entity error. I've attempted to delete the offending pistons using MCEdit or NBTExplorer, but it looks like the region file format is different in Mite or something because the programs both don't seem to load it correctly.

Correct, well kinda. We backed it up a week or two ago, but a lot can happen in a week. Blaze was able to issolate the chunk and delete it so we only lost a little bit of stuff, but be warned, using steps on pistons can break the game permanent like on a server.
On a different note, anyone know how thick your roof has to be to stop lightning? It keeps coming through the roof and breaking things and killing us. I would have thought a cobblestone ceiling would be sufficient (even half blocks) but it's not. Thoughts? Will two layers keep us safe? Tired of having to rehang paintings and occasionally losing items to fires and stuff.

Man I miss how active this forum used to be :/
Hi guys ! Long time no see !
PuraVidaServer, you evil beast ! You started a new world from scratch without me... again !!!
Weren't we supposed to play on a new server world "From Day 1" together ?
As for wasting 18 mithril on trying to enchant stuff...
I agree that there should be *some* form of player-control for enchanting stuff.
Maybe "rare magical reagents" (diamonds?) in a new enchanting table item slot?
(basically anything to make you mine and explore the map, instead of shearing sheep while safe at home.)
Still, no need to be "cheaty", because there is a built-in way to do it: Disenchant the item !
With your 200+ sheep "wool factory", the bottleneck is the metal, much more than the XPs.
Also, Vampiric is, hands down, THE BEST enchantment.
Very rare to get, but priceless. Especially combined with Sharpness.
With EVERY strike you make, gain back a fraction of the damage you dealt.
A small fraction, but a very non-negligible fraction.
From nearly dead, kill off 4 or 5 enemies and you're now back to full.
Alternate way to heal relatively fast: Every 10 seconds lying in a bed (doing nothing) heals back 1 hp.
I use that time to go make myself a sandwich or something.
So, with only the Ender Dragon and the Wither left to "do", and the Adamantine stage to "just begun"
(and not enough mithril for everything for 2 players yet), me and my nephew we kinda stopped that world.
He has to return to intensive studies, while also working. So there's that.
Also, I kinda used the "item duplication" trick to turn a single adamantine ingot and coins into tons of blocks and XPs.
So that kinda felt "ok, big party now, game over!"
So I started a few solo games.
Currently in a swamp spawn with 2 with huts nearby (not all that near, I'm not cursed lol),
with plains, jungle, forest, and ocean, not all that far off.
Lemme tell you, farming in a swamp is a *real* challenge.
Even if you get lucky enough to have a spot without a constant stream of green slimes
(which destroy biological stuff merely by sliming over them... let's say, your crops),
swamps have TONS of blight. At least 4 times more than the Plains biome.
And when it spreads in swamps, it spread easily to 2 blocks away.
So you instead have to put your crops on rows 1 and 4, else you get twice as much blight since it
skips to both rows. So, you never get the full "fully surrounded by farmland" speed bonus.
Even then it still blights tons. I still get a positive farming output, sure, but only about half as much as expected.
Was planning to go attack the witches for their veggies,
but I got lucky and got both potato and carrot from zombies.
Still living in a "two entrances" near-surface natural tunnel near spawn,
with 2 other secondary bases around, and one huge mining complex a bit away.
I am strongly thinking about moving out to the Plains, as soon as I find a good spot with a big mining network.
In any case, I'm ready to start a 2-player world whenever you are !
Here is a website about MITEmod in China: http://mite-online.cn/
It includes some introductions, such as resource files(including downloads) and a few servers.
If you can't open it, please wait a little longer.
Sorry I don't have enough money to optimize link speed. sad...
Are you interested in joining our server?
I really want to start a new world, but am very hesitant after my last work was corrupted and I don't know a workaround?
