- Falling blocks now make a sound on landing
- Lakes appearing in jungles are now classified as "jungle river" biomes
- Emerald and diamond blocks (solid blocks not ore) drop 9 shards when exploded
- Unsupported sand blocks (sometimes created during terrain generation) fall when stepped on
- Villages have been brought back into the game; they only appear once the world has reached a certain age and only when certain gathering and crafting prerequisites have been met
Any hints to how far in the game you have to be to find a village? i'm kind of a noob at surviving more than the second day

Could it be a trick of light or the fleeting fancies of a dying mind? He scarcely believed his eyes for what he saw in the desert beyond was a vast and sprawling metropolis, build from the very sands from which it rose.
I think fatigue is already represented fairly well by the hunger bar. Most (if not all) physical activities drain saturation and nutrition faster than resting. Thirst and disease both offer interesting possibilities, as does hypothermia. These are things for future consideration.

How do we go about getting carrots, potato and onion without villages in the game from the start? And why didn't you tell me fishing was so awesomely awesome? Finally got a new video card so I'm back in the groove. Excited for all the new updates!

There's no telling what the nightlife in such a city might be like. Once the prerequisites are met, villages spawn in plains and desert biomes just like in vanilla. Vegetables are tricky to obtain in the beginning; you can get them from dungeon chests and witches. Zombie villagers also have a chance of dropping a vegetable.
uh, might as well add more plants or animals? you know, for the realism
It would be nice to have turkeys, boar and deer for wild game hunting. Snakes would be good too, especially in plains and swampland biomes. I need the models, textures and drop icons before I can go ahead with adding them though. I've thought about putting in blueberry bushes for forests as well, but at the moment I'm focused on other aspects of the game and I think what it already has is sufficient for the time being.
I'm thinking about re-enabling 3rd person camera views in R50. There's pros and cons to this...removing it makes the game a bit harder but it's also nice to be able to look at your character every now and then. I can go either way with it.

Village spawning is enabled once two game months have passed, you have crafted an iron pickaxe and gathered one of each vegetable.

Nice to hear you're back in the game
It would be nice to have turkeys, boar and deer for wild game hunting. Snakes would be good too, especially in plains and swampland biomes. I need the models, textures and drop icons before I can go ahead with adding them though. Zombies and some other mobs like to eat dropped meat. A zombie will eat a nearby meat item about once every 20 seconds. They're absolute gluttons.
