is there any way you could add just the LAN port part of the mod? I've been looking for a long time, and what you have looks perfect, but the other stuff would mess up my other mods.

Sure, just have to compile it and upload the jar file.
is there a way to add items that dont typically stack to 64?
Via the config files... no
I can take a look at the code again.
Last I recall I made all vanilla items stackable that I could.
For example items that are tools (swords, picks, etc) each have their own metadata... so things get tricky when they are stacked and there are issues discerning which is which.
what about using just the modname:item name to to edit stack sizes? ex: minecraft:apple i mainly want to use this for vanilla and mod food items in my modpack.

I uploaded a new Stacksize mod 1.2 that you can configure what items are stackable to 64 (or whatever number you change it too).
You can add/remove items in Stacksize.cfg
In theory (I haven't test this yet) you should be able to add any item, including items from other mods (ex modname:item), into this list as long as the item name matches the exact registered item name. The items above are all in the minecraft:item_list since they have no ":" proceeding them. So "minecraft:egg" is the same as "egg".
Also side note, adding items that have separate metadata (i.e. tools that have damage etc) could have unknown results. Potions and enchanted books for instance seem to behave mostly but I have seen some oddities with even those.

ok so i did a test with the monster jerky from tinkers construct with all possible info, TConstruct:jerky and 4797:5, in the item list section and it didn't work.

Did you try just "jerky" or "tinker:jerky"?
The difficulty with other mod's items are finding out the exact name they used to register with minecraft with.
Is there code available to view in github by chance because then I could look up the exact item name.
The name in the game (which is set by a language file) could be different then the registered item name.
If so, it looks like there are a couple of jerky items in there. So it could be something like tinker:food/jerky_beef or could be tinker:jerky.beef. And then repeat for each one???
yes that is the correct mod. ill try the tinker:jerky.beef and get back to you about the results. thanks for all your help with this.
that didn't work so i will try tconstruct:jerky.beef
that didnt work either. would there be any way to use the numbering for the items? ex: bacon jerkey is 4546:2 so the config would use the 4546:2 instead of the name or TConstruct:jerky

Alright so I downloaded that mod and added this to my Stacksize.cfg and the Jerky's stacksize was changed from 64 to 16. I tried going to 128 as well and that worked too. I found the item name in the fml-client-latest.log "Registry add: TConstruct:jerky"
Also, FYI, when decreasing the stacksize Minecraft keeps the original stacksize until you move the item stack around (to a chest or to a different inventory space). I noticed this when I dropped it to the 16. It was still 64 when I started, until I moved the stack around. Then it broke them into 16 item stacks and I could not put them back into a 64 item stack.

ok, i tried it just the way you have it and there still wasnt any change. if it just cant be done for some reason, on my end, then ill just look at using a plugin on my server.

Just curious what is the new stacksize you are trying?
Can you message me the Stacksize.cfg file you are using? Or include its contents here?
I just want to know what is not working now. For server-clients with forge, I do know both the client and the server need the mod with the same size value. Otherwise they disagree and whoever is the smaller value wins, but that might be acceptable depending on what you want to do.

So I think there is a bug still with the stacksize that doesn't let anything go over 64.
I haven't really set it over 64 and played with that before, but I noticed that when I set it to 128 and move the items around, it sets them back to 64
I usually just tried grabbing stacks of 128 and that worked, so I never tested beyond that.
I'll have to see if there is something I can do to go beyond that limit.
EDIT:
Looks like this is because minecraft uses a 64 max limit in the inventory code with any item. So 64 is the max.

EDIT:
Custom LAN Port mod is now uploaded
How do I use custom Lan Port? because when I tried to run a lan server, there are no extra options.
EDIT: I found out XD
Can I include this mod in my modpack?
Come check out my pack and tell me what you think.

heres the current config for stack size:

settings {
S:"Item List" <
TConstruct:jerky
>
I:"New Stack Size"=64
}
cant keep the formatting for some reason.
