Love the idea of this mod! I know a lot of mods have alloys in them though...
A suggestion: When you add the new alloys, why not make alloy blocks aimed at specific purposes? For example maybe one alloy would be highly blast resistant, and another would do something special like double furnace efficiency when you surround the furnace. Maybe one alloy, perhaps using glowstone, would be a nice, metallic looking 15 light level block. Also, perhaps you could implement common ore dictionary ores, like copper, tin, silver, aluminum, lead, etc.
EDIT: I didn't mean to sound sort of downbeat like it came out, lol. I think it's great, and I see a lot of potential for originality! I'm just a little bit afraid it might turn out like other mods. =)

No problem, you didnt seem like a downbeat ;). But Expect many more additions, after all its only in BETA 1.1
And I will keep your ideas in mind!
Idea. How about redstone and glowstone tipped alloys, where glowstone adds durability, and redstone adds efficiency, (like the potions)?
And a super-alloy? (Diamond + Iron + Gold + Obsidian + Lapis + Glow- and Redstone + Stone + Wood?)
Make Diamond or Obsidian alloy for more Durabilty =)
Better yet, Diamond AND Obsidian
EDIT: Iron/Gold + Diamond should be called "Diamond-reinforced Iron/Gold," as in real life you can't "Alloy" Diamonds and Iron/Gold, but you can "Reinforce" them.

Actually, I am making a diamond obsidian alloy. Its called Reinforced Diamond, Has and has ARMOR! In the next update (1.2) I will also be adding steel (With armor). And I will be adding armor for iron gold, and adding lapis tip for all toolsets!
It is, but maybe I did it incorrectly. I'll work on it. This is the lines of code for language registry (For Iron Gold Alloy): LanguageRegistry.addName(IGA, "Iron Gold Alloy");Thats right, right?
LanguageRegistry is deprecated in 1.7, it is no longer used and people now have to use an en_US.lang file.Create a en_US.lang file within your mod's assets and just add lines that say (for example)(Common sense: change MyItem to your item and edit; etc.)
item.MyItem.name=Item Name
(can have spaces past the equal sign but only after the first word)
tile.MyBlock.name=My Block
This is how the "language registry" now works in 1.7; try it.(I'm a novice modder like yourself, it was annoying with all the youtube vids pretending like its still 1.6, things have changed, hardly anyone understands what deprecated means )

Ok, so I just put it in my assets folder? Its not working
And do I have to put in just the name (Steel) or do I have to put in com.nos.alloymod.AlloyMod.Steel?
EDIT: I had to place it in a lang folder. Its working now! Thanks!

Thanks man!
I've given up on the name glitch for now, and I'm working on the next update which is going to be huge! It might come out today, but if not, tomarrow!

Actually, its definantly coming out today. I just have to add 2 or 3 more toolsets and 2 more blocks, so, yeah. Do you think I should have lapis tipped steel or not?

And a super-alloy? (Diamond + Iron + Gold + Obsidian + Lapis + Glow- and Redstone + Stone + Wood?)

AWESOME !!!! Thank you so much, really nice to see a modder that listens to his followers.
Really love the mod and look forward to much more from you !!
Cheers,

War doesn't decide who is right, just who is left...
Maybe you could be more unique with your alloy names...
Basic joined names
Irold Pickaxe = Iron Gold
Irond Shovel = Iron Diamond
Golmond Hoe = Gold Diamond
Stold Sword = Steel Gold
Stond Axe = Steel Diamond
Or more "flashy" names
WhiteGild Pickaxe = Iron Gold (White = iron color, Gild = Gilded in Gold)
WhiteSpark Shovel = Iron Diamond (White = iron color, Spark = Sparkle)
GildSpark Hoe = Gold Diamond (Gild = Gilded in Gold, Spark = Sparkle)
BlueGild Sword = Steel Gold (Blue = steel color, Gild = Gilded in Gold)
BlueSpark Axe = Steel Diamond (Blue = steel color, Spark = Sparkle)
As I said, just thinking to myself and thought id share
TG.
EDIT: Sorry about the double post.
EDIT EDIT: Didnt see BarX post, sounds like someone else suggested it too.
