Have you ever thought of Minecraft and it's music discs, they are very catchy at first (Thanks to c418!) but do you like more genres and variations of music in your game? Well look here
This was a mod created for the modpack by me called Toxic Garbage Island which has 260 mods in right now, we wanted more content and here it is, I was very excited when I first started modding and here is the result.
I do have lots more coming for this mod as there's a lot to implement with streaming and music in Minecraft, portable music player? Looping music? You got me, I will try bring these features out for 1.7 :3
Well let's get into what there is to the mod!
ITEMS AND MUSIC
Items... hmm for now there is only more music discs which is the main part of the mod (for now!) Here are some examples of discs
Here above is an example ^ (credits to The Living Tombstone and Wooden Toaster!)
Also:

These music discs can be obtained via different chests in Dungeons, villages and strongholds, I am going to implement the discs as a mob drop, but that is going to wait until 1.7.X :3

I also have permissions for all the pieces of music, most of them are Royalty free etc.

You guys can request any music you wish to be added to the mod, just have to be clear with permissions ^^
Idk if this is possible, but how about you try to make this into a mod called "Music: Remastered" and basically you can take songs from your iTunes and put it on a music disk. Like I said, probably not possible, but it would be a 10/10 would download for me if it was

That would be hard as I would need some sort of API with iTunes for java, I'll look into it - and its a very good suggestion ^^
idk if you acn do this but you should have some kind of block that you put an empty music disk in and make your own song like you click on noteblocks and record it

As much as I like the concept and execution of this mod, I do have one small piece of advice - watch your permissions on the music you're using for the discs. There are some pretty strict licenses on current music, some artists being more picky stubborn than others.

At least for my part, I made sure I carefully picked out the right licensed music. (Yes, I am/was a developer of this mod.) Most or a few of the songs/pieces were downloaded, ripped, and/or pirated by Rongmario

I have a request! Please, please, would you include Cherryblossom by Raptorface?
A girl that's really important to me would be dying to hear it in game! Also, it's an awesome 8bit chiptune that fits minecraft pretty well. Here's the link, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
I just hope there will be updates to the 1.6 version... No way I'm going to switch to 1.7 for now...

What do you guys think about mobs dropping discs? Maybe have different combinations such as the skeleton killing zombie you get a different disc from the mod or vanilla?
It would be nice to have configs to choose who drops what. And please keep adding songs to the 1.6 version, because we all are waiting for many mods to update for now... I use 150 mods and I guess I'll have to wait a bit. XD
Is it impossible to make the user add his own songs?
I'm fairly new to Java and Minecraft Modding, I'll see what I can do to make the user add their own songs, what I can do is copy the mob mechanic in vanilla but for records (so have different randomly generated coloured music discs everytime a song is added)

No problem, I think you did a very good job already. ^^ And you also did a good job with ids, 151 mods and no conflicts. XD You had a simple and nice idea. Keep it up.
