I'm really liking the Eggy Goodness mod, except for the recipe to turn gold dust into ingots. Would it be possible to add an option where I smelt the dust into a nugget, instead?

Thanks ShadeDaystar.
It's something I myself have been considering.
Problem with smelting dust into nuggets is that it'll cost 1+ coal per 1 ingot of gold. (1 coal would smelt 8 dusts into 8 nuggets, not even enough for an ingot) Which I think is a bit too inefficient/costly.
So then I thought of just dropping nuggets instead of dust from breaking a golden egg. But that just feels wrong.
I might end up make it configurable in the next version.
I might make the whole golden eggs/golden chicken deal configurable altogether. I'm sure there'll be people making gigantic golden chicken farms. But the mod isn't really intended to be a mining replacement.
Considering how easy it is to raise chickens (even making an automated chicken farm), I would've considered the coal/charcoal/other fuel a balancer for the gold.
I think adding in configuration options for the recipes/chickens might be a good idea. People have different ways of playing, after all.

It's easy to raise chickens yes. But getting a golden chicken can be tricky. If you're lucky it only costs 4 gold and 4 diamonds/emeralds. But it could easily also cost you 40 gold and 40 diamonds or more before one hatches. And then it still takes a bit of time to get a decent amount of chickens for it to get interesting. When someone has that amount of gold and diamonds to spend. They probably also have a quarry going or some other form of automated mining or a tree farm. Coal is trivial at that point. I figured it'd be mostly just a bother to have to smelt it at that point, for that cost. Alternate ways of getting gold would be easier and less costly.
I added the chickens because it's a learning mod for me. I never programmed java before nor did any minecraft mods. People asked for a mob and I figured a golden chicken would fit the theme of the pack and be a nice new challenge for me to program.
It's above all just a food mod to have some use for eggs. The golden chicken deal might imbalance some packs in the long run. So yes, it'll be configurable.

I haven't been programming for a while and am more playing at the moment.
You could consider it done. I still intend to make the whole golden chicken/egg deal toggle-able in the config. But I didn't want to release such a minor thing as a whole new version/download (you can just download an older version that doesn't have them). I'm waiting for forge to come out for MC 1.8 to add that and perhaps a few more little things to flesh out the update a bit more, but nothing major.
As for plans thereafter. I could expand this mod more. But it'd lose its original intent of just making eggs edible. So I'll probably move on to other projects instead.
The mod was/is also a learning platform for me. So I could learn how to program Minecraft mods. For which I was following a nice youtube course by our beloved Pahimar. Only issue there is that Pahimar spawned a Pahiprincess, so his programming series is on hiatus for a bit. I won't be learning that much more until he picks up his series.
When/if he does, I might get some ideas to finetune eggygoodness a bit more. But I don't expect to do much more than getting it more compatible with other (food)mods. I'm not planning on adding any major features at this moment. Plenty of ideas, processing/eating monster-eggs with effects, exploding gunpowder filled creeper egg-grenades anyone. But it'd turn the mod into something else. So I'm going to refrain from that for now at least.
I have a question; If both this mod and Gany's Surface are installed, will the scrambled egg thingy still work? And an idea of mine to add a Blupi into this mod, since he was called 'Eggbert' within the english releases of Speedy Blupi, and his lives are eggs in that game.

If you're talking about recipe conflicts, the game will always choose one or the other. Minetweaker can help you resolve issues such as this.

The scrambled eggs won't work if Gany's Surface uses the same recipe, as ShadeDaystar mentioned.
As for including Blupi/Eggbert. I don't plan to include more new mobs, sorry. He's probably copyrighted and there's other games featuring eggs and eggy characters as well. Never even heard of Blupi before you mentioned him. Adding mobs would just clutter up the mod more as well.

Very nice spotlight gcsmith. You explain all the various ways of crafting the eggs very well. The double yolk eggs are indeed just a fluke that happens to occur now 'n then. I believe they give you a bit more nutrition when eaten baked/fried, then the single yolk ones. But not when you scramble them.
Good to see the golden chickens/ducks as well. Hadn't seen those on video yet.
Ok! I will be uploading it today around 8:00 PM EST maybe sooner, and i am also going to share it on PlanetMinecraft! I love any mod that adds food!!!! I'm setting up the showcase now!

Thanks.
Hehe, thanks. I always love covering these kinds of mods. Stuff that A) Adds some cool functions but isn't MASSSIVE like tekkit and Aren't covered much. Always nice supporting lesser known mods.

I'd love to see your spotlight and if it's really good I'll include it in the mod page.
