Hello! I love your shader pack, it is fantastic, so crisp. However I am unable to run it. I was wondering if anyone could provide any help for me?
First I entered a world I initialized your shaders. For one second I see a change behind the menu, and think that the shaders are initialized but no! (minecraft never works for me) Anyway, after that, the screen freezes. Then the screen goes black for around 10 seconds. When the screen returns I get a message that the display driver has crashed and has been able to recover. However minecraft has just a black screen, and remains not responding until I forcibly close it.

I am using the Ultra version of optifine. The drivers are up to date, as I am religious about that sort of thing. As for the GPU, there is none. It is OBVIOUSLY running the inboard graphics unit. I am not a child and understand capabilities of a computer. I used chocapic's AND Mr.Meeps in the earlier versions of 1.7. I didn't ask to be talked down to.
EDIT: The version of Intel HD is 4000, if that means anything. As I previously stated, it is up to date. No mods installed except for optifine and the shaders mod core.

Minecraft crashed with exitcode -805306369.
It looks like you are using an heavily outdated driver (not totally sure though). If the driver is up to date does the crash happens on others shaderpacks / are you using a clean minecraft with only forge/optifine/shadermod?

I think this may be your problem, with only a single core and at relatively "low" fps chunk loading become more appearent and causes these lags spikes. Be sure you have disabled v-sync and framerate is uncapped in minecraft.
Shaders Mod Version: ShadersMod v2.4.7 Non-Forge Edition. OptiFine_1.8.0_HD_U_B6 is used in the webm, but it is irrelevant as the same issue is present with and without it. GPU: NVidia GTX 750ti with the updated drivers.
First bug:
In the above webm you can see a bug where shadows don't render in a certain area ahead of me and to my sides. This bug is definitely related to the shadow render distance; shadowDistance set to 200.0 like in Extreme presents no issues while the default for the Medium and High packs(64.0) causes this issue.
Second bug:
The other shadow bug is that shadows appear spiked and jump around as I move. The issue gets worse the lower ShadowResMul is. It doesn't show up at all with it set to 4.0000. The minimum shadow resolution causes lines to appear everywhere.
EDIT: Also, it seems that my framerate is a bit lower at night. About 10fps lower. That seems rather strange.
I definitively can't reproduce the bug on nvidia/amd/intel. Does the map texture move or is still?
I actually usually get 150-200 frames without shaders, I had just limited the frames in that particular test run because I was playing around with various settings to try and get them to work. I put the setting back to unlimited, but the same problem occurred. I can run all other shaders I've tried fine. I actually have 4 cores. How could I get minecraft to utilize all of them?
Can you send me the end of the console log after using lite version in a world?(approx 2times what you can see on one "page" of console log) How good is the framerate too?

The shadow map is also distorted to make shadows near the player more detailled, causing the area covered by shadows to have a weird shape; it also cause the second bug because far shadows are less detailled.
Lines are caused by a lack of accuracy in the shadow map. I use a bias function made specially for the shadow resolution/distance, so if you decrease resolution or increase distance you may see these lines appear.
So as you stated you can only increase shadow quality to make these bugs less apparent.

Thank you for the bug report, i can fix it easily! Framerate is better than I expected too.

Great work currently using them. My main issue with your shaders is the torch color. The orange tone is distracting, especially in cave digging. Is there a combo of RGB values anyone knows of that helps get this effect a bit toned down? if not, I'll just have to mess with it.
Yep. In composite.fsh, go down to lighting and change the torch numbers to this. These are what I personally use.
please please PLEASE make the v5 higher packs available on mac and please do not bring back the flashing chunk glitch!!!
1. The higher packs would run like CRAP on any mac. And what's stopping you from using them on a Mac anyways? If they don't work, why ask for them to be compatible? That would force him to make those "higher" versions look worse.

Yes! Someone who also uses a Mac and wants shaders! I have the same problem. I have to turn my settings down. Chocapic's shaders won't even work on my Mac. When I load them, it goes to the default minecraft shading.

I have made a shaderpack called yShaders specifically for Macs and computers with Intel Integrated Graphics. Try it, you won't be disappointed! Link Removed
yes yshaders is great and should work if not try getting the fps plus mod and when you choose the shader reset video settings and if the yshader does not work try chocapic13 v3 low i ran it 35 fps on a macbook air. (not my current computer)

yShaders is actually based on chocapic13 v3, with some modifications. The low version of yShaders should have better performance than chocapic13 v3 low, but I haven't used chocapic13 v3 much lately, so I wouldn't know how it stacks up to the latest version of yShaders.

Minecraft crashed with exitcode -805306369.
EDIT: The version of Intel HD is 4000, if that means anything. As I previously stated, it is up to date. No mods installed except for optifine and the shaders mod core.
I definitively can't reproduce the bug on nvidia/amd/intel. Does the map texture move or is still?
I think this may be your problem, with only a single core and at relatively "low" fps chunk loading become more appearent and causes these lags spikes. Be sure you have disabled v-sync and framerate is uncapped in minecraft.
Shaders Mod Version: ShadersMod v2.4.7 Non-Forge Edition. OptiFine_1.8.0_HD_U_B6 is used in the webm, but it is irrelevant as the same issue is present with and without it.
GPU: NVidia GTX 750ti with the updated drivers.
First bug:
In the above webm you can see a bug where shadows don't render in a certain area ahead of me and to my sides. This bug is definitely related to the shadow render distance; shadowDistance set to 200.0 like in Extreme presents no issues while the default for the Medium and High packs(64.0) causes this issue.
Second bug:
The other shadow bug is that shadows appear spiked and jump around as I move. The issue gets worse the lower ShadowResMul is. It doesn't show up at all with it set to 4.0000. The minimum shadow resolution causes lines to appear everywhere.
EDIT: Also, it seems that my framerate is a bit lower at night. About 10fps lower. That seems rather strange.
I actually usually get 150-200 frames without shaders, I had just limited the frames in that particular test run because I was playing around with various settings to try and get them to work. I put the setting back to unlimited, but the same problem occurred. I can run all other shaders I've tried fine. I actually have 4 cores. How could I get minecraft to utilize all of them?

The first bug is caused by a shorter shadow render distance in order to preserve framerate. The type of shadow perspective cause the "shadow camera" to move in a laggy way. The shadow map is also distorted to make shadows near the player more detailled, causing the area covered by shadows to have a weird shape; it also cause the second bug because far shadows are less detailled.
Lines are caused by a lack of accuracy in the shadow map. I use a bias function made specially for the shadow resolution/distance, so if you decrease resolution or increase distance you may see these lines appear.
So as you stated you can only increase shadow quality to make these bugs less apparent.

It looks like you are using an heavily outdated driver (not totally sure though). If the driver is up to date does the crash happens on others shaderpacks / are you using a clean minecraft with only forge/optifine/shadermod?

1. The higher packs would run like CRAP on any mac. And what's stopping you from using them on a Mac anyways? If they don't work, why ask for them to be compatible? That would force him to make those "higher" versions look worse.
2. Why would he bring back a glitch on purpose?
I have made a shaderpack called yShaders specifically for Macs and computers with Intel Integrated Graphics. Try it, you won't be disappointed! Link Removed
and with the first post i did saying make it compatible with mac i mean it works fine on my mac just when i open extereme (i ran v4 extreme quite well) it makes my screen go black, hope this helped!

yShaders is actually based on chocapic13 v3, with some modifications. The low version of yShaders should have better performance than chocapic13 v3 low, but I haven't used chocapic13 v3 much lately, so I wouldn't know how it stacks up to the latest version of yShaders.
