I tried out CustomSteve for Minecraft version 1.7.10 because of CustomBuki. However, one issue I noticed right away is that the default first-person arm is still visible in first person. It looks really odd with it overlapping with the MMD Model. Anyone know of a solution to this problem? One thing I thought of was pressing F1, but that gets rid of both the arm and the HUD. I also attempted to search for a mod that could solve my problem. The only thing I could find was one that removes the HUD and not the arm XD. Google has failed me this time around. Hopefully someone will have an answer within a decade. Also can't seem to get SEUS to work in 1.7.10, the sky/clouds move with my camera and other issues... but that is off topic. Probably because the author got rid of support for shaders. RIP. I might just stick with 1.10.2.
I downloaded the mod, but whenever I go into f5 to view my player I see a green box for a split second and then the game crashes, saying something like "The game crashed during model loading". Is there a separate model I need to install? Thanks!
ok, hopefully I explain this fully and easily: I've encountered that problem before, I don't remember where the original CustomSteve folder gets installed to (either in the main minecraft folder or the mods folder), you need to copy the customsteve folder and place it in the main .minecraft folder AND the mods folder, i'm not sure why but something is bugged and it doesn't tend to find the folder if it's in only one location, try what I just suggested and see if that fixes it, I hope it does for you.
I have the mod working on Forge 1.7.10, but I can't seem to get it to run without crashing on 1.10.2. Here's my crash logs if anyone can help me.

I just made a fresh install with this and it works fine in Minecraft 1.10.2, i used:
forge-1.10.2-12.18.3.2511-installer.jar, installed it, then logged in so it makes the mods folder you need. logged out.
OptiFine_1.10.2_HD_U_E7.jar. placed optifine in mods folder, logged in and checked it loaded. logged out. CustomSteve1102140Beta.zip
Unpacked the contents of CustomSteve1102140Beta.zip into the mods folder. logged in, and press F5.
And there she was.
You can use:
"J" to pan the camera to the left.
"L" to pan the camera to the right.
"I" to increase distance of the camera.
"LBRACKET" to decrease distance of the camera. (mine was the button next to the backspace button)

I found out how to get music and motions working. So here is a how to.
@KawaiiKamiKait The reason Saber Lily isn't rendering correctly is the file format for the textures. I remember fixing it by changing the format to something else. Same thing with most other models that have black textures and some working textures.
Man I hope there is an update for this mod at some point. However, the mod author doesn't seem interested in doing that. I can understand somewhat, since the devs of Minecraft just HAD to change the code for the game.
For me, changing the DDS texture files to PNG wasn't enough. I had to rename the folder she was in and the file name. i suspect that the [] messed it up... maybe.
Also she is a bit tall, so when i load her in PMXEditor i use the custom scale of 0.875 and save her like that.
Now it looks like she can actually look out through the window in the door. and isn't hitting her head against the block above a door.

you can edit a models size within custom steve, I can't remember if it was editing a text file or a setting within game, but it could be done without editing the model directly.

Oh yeah i forgot about that, in the customsteve menu in the config, the top field. Model Size: "1.0,1.0,1.0"
How do you put camera motion? It was the only thing I couldn't figure out how to do...
I show how you do that in the 3rd video on my post - Jump to 2:00 and watch until 2:56
But all you have to do, is place the camera motion in the same folder as the dance motion. just add _camera to the file name.
So if it's Ievan_polkka.vmd for the dance motion then it's Ievan_polkka_camera.vmd for the camera. and it will load automatically when you choose Ievan_polkka.vmd.

I then went on and got the SEUS-v11.0.zip shader(set the shader option profile to low), so i have light when i hold a torch in my left hand.

I found out how to get music and motions working. So here is a how to.
I managed to get the CustomSteve mod working on a server too, but.
It only works with minecraft 1.7.10, and it has to be the beta 110 that has a server and a cilent package.
So using the CustomSteve_Server1710110Beta_Forge.jar for the server.
And using the CustomSteve1710110Beta.zip for the client.
Installing the server, you have to have a Forge server.
To install that, get the 1.7.10 forge installer from here.

i used the "forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1448-1.7.10-installer-win.exe"
Make a folder that you want to run your server.
Now run the installer and select "install Server" and point it to the server folder you want it to be in.
Then click Ok.
When it's done make a new bat file and add this to it. maybe change the .jar filename if you don't use the exact same forge version i did.
java -Xmx1G -Xms1G -jar forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1448-1.7.10-universal.jar nogui
Save it, and run the bat file.
It will fail to load properly because you have to agree to the eula.txt it just created.
edit eula.txt and replace false with true.
Now run the server again.
When it is done loading, stop it.
Now edit the server.properties to your liking.
And put the CustomSteve_Server1710110Beta_Forge.jar in the mods folder.
Now start the server again.
That should be it with the server.
The client install is like the post above, just with the CustomSteve1710110Beta.zip instead.
I noticed that one of my characters didn't show up when i had 2 clients logged in the first time.
All i needed to do was disconnect that client and log in again, and i had 2 models running around.

It just dosen't remember that setting when you exit the game and load it again.
