Ive always had a love for mods that fit with the vanilla theme of minecraft, so I decided to create a pack of modular mods to improve and expand upon different sections of the game without distracting you too much from its vanilla charm.
At the moment I have only completed one module, the Peaceful Pack.
This module aims to add a few new ways to obtain items that normally wouldn't be available in peaceful mode.
The Modules
Peaceful
This module aims to add a few new ways to obtain items that normally wouldn't be available in peaceful mode.
This doesn't mean that this pack is only for peaceful players, its always nice to have a variety of ways to get your good, right?
Flax
Flax is a plant that gives you a new way to obtain string besides wool.
You will find patches of flax growing in the wild.
When fully grown, they will drop seeds and fibers when broken.
Flax can be planted on dirt, grass and tilled field.
Fossils
Fossils are ore blocks that come in 3 different looks.
They generate underground below level 40.
When destroyed they drop between 1 and 3 bones.
Sulfur and Niter
Sulfur and Niter are ores that generate underground below the surface level.
Each ore drops 3 of their respective items.
Sulfur and Niter can be combined with charcoal in the crafting table to produce gunpowder.
Niter can be crafted with bonemeal to return 2 bonemeal.
Sulfur can be used in place of coal when crafting torches.
Slime Pools
Slime pools are little underground caves that generate about as rarely as dungeons.
The slime pools randomly spawn slimes when you are in the near vicinity.
When broken, the slime pool blocks will drop a few slime balls.
You can re-craft the slime pool blocks in the crafting table with a 2x2 square of slime balls.
Slime pool blocks slow you down when walking through them and can also break your fall.
Ghast Eggs
Ghast eggs generate rarely around the nether in spread out clusters.
Dont destroy these, they will drop nothing!
Instead, right click on them until they dissapear.
You can right click on a ghast egg 3 times, each time the egg will shrink and there will be a 50% chance of it dropping a ghast tear.
Kindlewood Trees
These fireproof trees generate over lava in the nether with roots spreading beneath the surface.
The kindlewood leaves don't drop sapling, but do have a 10% chance of dropping blaze powder.
You should be able to get about 15 or so blaze powders per tree, if you don't drop any into the lava.
To create blaze rods you need to create an iron rod. The recipe is similar to sticks, except use iron ingots!
You can than craft some blaze powder with the iron rod to create a blaze rod.
Ender Clams
Ender clams generate along the ocean floor.
When broken they drop up to 2 ender pearls.
Changelog
25/1/14
Removed the core module from the download.
22/1/14 v1.0
Release of the Peaceful module.
Beekeeping
Information coming soon, but for now I suggest using a crafting guide to get the recipes!
But basically you find beehives under trees, break them to get the queen bee.
Put the queen bee in the apiary to produce honeycombs and grubs.
Grubs can be put in the incubator to create more queen bees.
Put the combs in the comb presser to produce their respective items.
2) Drop the downloaded modules into the /mods folder of your minecraft directory.
3) Enjoy!
Coming Soon
Airships!
Diving!
Butterflies!

Looks nice, but you may want to consider changing and/or revising some of your things - namely the flax, sulfur, nitre, and ender clams, if not the fossils as well. Wuppy got to this first with his Peaceful Pack. ( http://www.minecraft...ck-for-172-out/ )
I'd be very interested in seeing non-mining ways to get bone, especially reliable ones.
I was actually in contact with Rhodox and Hogofwar (the original creator of the peaceful pack) when I started the Amazopack continuation here: [1.5.2] Amazopack v1.0.3b (ITS BACK!).
Hog supported it and gave me his ideas document from when he was still creating the mod.
I just recently decided I wanted to split up the amazopack into better modules with more freedom, and later create an amazopack pre-made collection of modules.
So this is what has become of that.
Also, im not a big fan of how wuppy's new additions like blaze trees and ghast ores have been implemented, so I would personally rather play with this.

Ah, that's cool. Thanks for the clarification. I never look at names or post counts, so...

Fair enough! I never play in the Nether myself. Hate ghasts, don't brew, no reason to go there.
Oh, I forgot to add that to the post.
You can create iron rods using iron ingots in the same shape you would to create a stick.
Then you can just put the rod into the crafting table with some blaze powder.
Since the old download of the peaceful module included the core module, I suggest deleting it and installing both modules fresh. This will not affect your saves.

So you are copying Forestry. An already amazing mod that you have to try and copy. I was okay with your peaceful stuff, hell, I loved using it. But bringing bee keeping into the mix when there is already a mod that does that amazingly well, is not okay. Unless you talked to the devs with Forestry about your "idea" then you have just lost a follower of your mod.

I got this argument a few times in the early days of this [1.5.2] Amazopack v1.0.3b (ITS BACK!) thread as well.
Ill start by saying this is basically a direct update of nandonalt's beekeeping mod. Which can be found here.
So if you want to talk about copying, I guess you could say forestry copied nandonalt's beekeeping.
If you actually played around with the beekeeping in this mod, you will find that it is completely different.
Forestry is a tech mod, and I'm not a big fan of tech mods. If you have a look at the top of this thread you will see that I like vanilla themed mods. So the complexity of forestry's beekeeping is not for me.
Forestry also has a lot of other stuff in it too, so if you only want beekeeping, bad luck.
I wouldn't go as far to say that this is copying forestry, especially since beekeeping is a real life thing. So just because forestry did beekeeping before me, doesn't mean that I can't have a go at it?
I dont accuse Samsung of copying Nokia because they made a phone first.
I dont accuse Pepsi of copying Coca-Cola because they made a cola drink first.
It all comes down to preference. If you prefer Samsung, then buy a Samsung. If you prefer Coke, then buy Coke. If you prefer Forestry, then play Forestry.
For some reason these are not working for me the game isn't crashing or anything it just seems like it doesn't want to acknowlege their existence, I have the latest Forge installed and they are definetly in the mod folder.
ditto, not working for me eitherI opened the archive and had a look and there is a "_MACOSX" file there not sure if that's related.Lovely textures by the way, what are you planning on next? Diving gets my vote, not really something I've seen done well yet.

What you have to do until I fix this is unzip the folders, and merge all their contents into 1 folder.
You don't need to zip it back up, but you can if you want.
It's got something to do with Beekeeping not seeing files from the Core because Beekeeping gets loaded first.
Ill figure out how to fix this when I get back tomorow.
Sorry about that!
Make away for your peaceful mod to spawn it's contents in already discovered chunks.
This is a mod I would love to put into my Direwolf20's modpack, but if it cant generate its content in already explored chunks, when well :/
Many mods that add new ores or plants will generate their resorces in already discovered chunks for conveyance and easy 'plug and play' means so we don;t get forced to start a new world or run out further and furthere to see new stuff.

Forgive me if I'm wrong and just misremembering stuff but doesn't Direwolf20's modpack have Thaumcraft in it? And doesn't Thaumcraft have some sort of option in its config that lets you regen all the ores and stuff in chunks you've already created in your world?

I would have to look into it.
Are there any open source mods that do it?
I got it installed, I was wondering what the spawn rules are for the beehive since I don't seem to be able to find any even in a normal world.
Also I only tested for a short while but how long should it take for a queen to start producing items? Nothing seemed to be happening there.
Basically theres a chance for them to spawn under any of the vanilla leaves blocks.
I need to rewrite that section now that you mention it, to make it configurable!

Well, I just tested it and your right. They are extremely rare. Basically impossible to find.
Ill release an update soon to fix this!
I may even make the bee swarm mob have an AI task that makes them wander around to find a tree to build a nest in.
Then I won't even have to add any world gen code.
If you surround the apiary with flowers it will produce quicker. Fill the radius of 2 with red and yellow flowers and you should have some produce in around 2 minutes.

Oh, that makes more sense.
Its basically a hobby, but you can make food and and decorations!
I have a few more things in mind as well.
Re-download for the fix!
I love nandonalts mods, and am glad to see you update them, after you stopped the amazopack.
I have a new account called "Mushroomsock" now, so please do not send me PMs.
