Ah well then. See - this is why I don't write my own mods. I have enough trouble just posting to a forum some days!
I also assume there isn't much I could do with a config file? Assuming that is even an option...
Actually, the config contains the ID of those blocks. I just discovered that they are still in number format, (digits like 3 are still considered valid IDs; and yes, it is confusing). It doesn't make any sense as Zeno410 stated in the main post that the latest version uses the new CHAR IDs. Try changing the IDs in the config; it may work.
Well now this sucks... when placing a barrel from Medievil Fantasy it throws the error below.
"no ore for tile.barrelblock"?!? And why is it UndergroundBiomes going all splody when it's a block I place from another mod? It shouldn't be an ID conflict, right? Those don't exist anymore, right?!?
Crud, I posted a reply and it's not here. Do you have crashOnProblems=false?
There *are* still numeric IDS, it's just that Forge is supposed to manage them (Minecraft manages the minecraft blocks, but not mod blocks). However, it's very complicated, has had major bugs in the past, and might still have them. Also, either UB or MF might not have registered them the way Forge wants them registered - Forge is bad about letting you do things wrong.
My config file still has IDS, but they're not for new 1.7 worlds, it's for converting 1.6 worlds, and running them after conversion.
I have a newer version I need to push out - maybe early tomorrow - which will at least fix the crash. You'll see a Red Granite coal block instead, if crashOnProblems = false.

Would crashOnProblems=true throw the old "ID conflict" error then? Or should I keep it false? So many rules...
Or should I just be an (im)patient player and just wait until the update?
Zeno- Is it possible to add other mod's ores as overlays? For example, if I wanted to add osmium (Mekanism), could I just add an osmium-overlay.png to the blocks folder in assets? Or does the ore need to be coded into the mod?

crashOnProblems is a flag I use. If it's on and something is wrong, it crashes. Otherwise it tries to keep going (almost always with something wrong). In this case the renderer will draw a coal ore block. I can't remember if I put that in the release you're using or added it later.

The ore needs to be coded for by the other mod; it can't be done by the user. I have an API on Github with fairly simple calls. Metallurgy is working on using them; I can testify they do work although there's one last bug to squash on their side (related to world generation, not directely ore texturizing).
For a simple ore I could do it on my end but I found there's a lot of custom stuff going on in ore mods and generally I'm not going to know things well enough to do it. Also, I can't do the needed art.

Well mine's is set to false so it should not "crash" when there is an issue but it still gronks the whole client as per the error I put in my previous post. I am guessing swapping it to "true" won't help at all, unless that error message would help you more?
And as per your post, playing with the IDs on 1.7.10 is pointless, right? Or could I set them to some other value and see if that helps? Like add a "1" at the beginning of each number or something...??

Correct, no point in swapping crashOnProblems to true. Email me zips of the config and mods directories - I have diagnostics I can run. Also, can you give me a timeline of setting up the world, e.g. which mod was first? The modder of MF has contacted me to fix it, BTW.

Okay I will get them together and send it to you when I have a moment (gotta get the kids to daycare, drive to work, work for a bit, then take a break to email you). As for the timeline, I am just running a local/solo world so not our server at all yet (we're waiting on a couple other mods to go to .10).I am constantly deleteing and recreating from scratch worlds to test all kinds of things... it's like work... sheesh. However we did "add" MeFe only with this round as we fell in love with UB on our last server - everyone demands we bring it back to the next one! Weeee! (man, I gotta get out of the house more)

Quick summary: it appears the problem is *neither* UBC *nor* MeFa.
I can run both UBC and MeFa together and place blocks without problems. The registries are consistent and correct for all blocks of both mods, and blocks are registered at the right time too.
Your mods are apparently set up to run 1.7.10. At present neither UBC nor MeFa is for 1.7.10 - although I tried them under 1.7.10 and they still work, with the correct registries and everything there too.
I can't get your complete mod folder to run under either 1.7.2 or 1.7.10. Under 1.7.2 ChickenCore insists on upgrading to 1.7.10 and under 1.7.10 Minecraft hangs, after a number of mods whine about Mantle not being loaded (I don't know if that's the problem, it's just the last thing in the console before the hang).
Edit: the only reasonable explanation I can think of is that maybe the registry is overloaded (more than 4,096 blocks).
Well, I have been running my local with all those mods for some time now - at least two weeks. And while I get some strange crashes now and then (as expected) it always runs. And yes, I know neither are specifically coded for 1.7.10, for me they work much more than they don't. Also, a number of the mods in there are .10 not .2 mods, so that is probably why it won't run in 1.7.2 either.
As for Mantle not being there... it was in my folder when i zipped it - is it not in what you got? I wonder if maybe something just did load to dropbox properly... also the fact that you are getting ChickenCore for 1.7.2 is also throwing me as we use the current version on that one too! Maybe I should copy it again... ??
EDIT: I threw a new copy out there (#2) - does that have all the current mods now?
And as long as I am asking, are you planning to make a 1.7.10 version?
EDIT #2: On another quick note, we do use the (almost) most current version of forge 10.12.1.1183. Could that be it? I know 10.12.1.1186 just came out like today...
Okay new post - too many edits as I keep remember details... Last one for now...
The client loads just peachy most of the time. To ensure you get the crash, I get it IMMEDIATELY when I place a "barrel" from MeFa in a world that includes UB. It doesn't often just crash - often a barrel needs to be put into the world either by worlgen making it on a MeFa tower or I just go in creative mode, grab one, and then place it.

Mantle is there - but it's not loading, or at least some things think it's not loaded. I'm running Java 1.6, which could affect some things. I did have to take out BetterVillages because it used a Java-1.7-specific exception class.
Re Forge - Forge has "recommended builds" for a reason, which is that they have bugs too. IMO only developers and testers working on *Forge* features should ever use non-recommended versions. The "latest" build is Forge's version of a snapshot. If I were looking for a candidate to have damaged the registry (which seems to be your problem), a "latest" Forge would be the #1 suspect.
Try running just UBC and MeFa and nothing else. I added MeFa to my (small) personal set, pulled a barrel out of the creative tab, and plopped it down, and it was fine.

Okay cool - I will run the mods through their paces. And yes, I know we shouldn't be running the latest-and-greatest just because its out there. I just can't help myself...
And you know, it could be Better Villages... that is an ancient mod that someone ported to 1.7.2 and we are running it on .10... so probably ODF on me...
Thanks for the help - one mod at a time testing to begin soon... yuck but yeah... sigh...
Maybe we just have too man mods? Nah, that can't be it - no such thing!
0.6e for 1.7.2 is out, with bugfixes for saving world specific configs in Windows, pathfinding on servers, and crashes on mining slabs, and expanded features for other mods to texturize ores. Seems compatible with 1.7.10

.... and splat. The "e" version ground my machine to a halt. 0.6d was a bit sluggish when it would load chunks to allow for the new stone to loaded but with 0.6e is just hangs completely... of course I am the one shoving a 1.7.2 mod into a 1.7.10 space... still, I am sad...

I haven't really noticed a difference between 0.6d and 0.6e, and I can't think of a reason they'd be very different. The metadata'd ores are the only difference. UBifyOre=true has a big performance hit, but that's in either version. Haven't tested 1.7.10 yet, although I wouldn't expect that to bring a big slowdown.

I've been having issues with UBC crashing my server in new chunks of my server. At first it was the pathfinding issues, so I retreated back to the older portions of my world.
World never crashes on single player though. The errors did change after I updated some of 1.7.2 mods.
Now with the new 0.6e UBC my server can not load at all. Even cleared the world to generate a new one and the server still crashes.
