Hey Sparroha, this mod is awesome. Thanks for the time you spend working on it. I was wondering, since EE3 hasn't been updated to 1.6 and I need a replacement, may I include Mimicry in my private modpack? It'll be password protected distribution via the FTB Launcher. I run a small server of about ~10.
Hi, I noticed that you are hooking into the smelting recipes and that's not good because combined with my mod it gets really OP, so I want to ask: is there anything I can add to my mod for Mimicry to ignore my smelting recipes? (I'm using something like AppliedEnergetics does with processors)
I have a config for that however i don't think it's working right now. I broke it with one of the updates. Next update should have it working.
fixed an issue with the dust recipe config disable not working properly. It now should disable any smelting recipe mimic for items that already have a mimic recipe registered
Hey man, nice mod so far, I think it's a fair balance between finding the ore and really getting something out of it. I did some basic theorycrafting on the balance of the Mimikinetic Upheavers and I'm not sure they are balanced perfectly, but pretty close No big deal, but if you're interested in the calculations I have them in my video description on the link below.
I made a mod spotlight/guide/tutorial (or something) of it during my modpack investigations. It is based on FTB Monster 1.6.4 v1.0.9 status and settings. I made it in text style with some relaxing music, so it should be easy to follow for most people.
Feel free to check it out:
I actually have a question, just want to clear it out... When combining one piece of Mimichite with a Portal Gun - it will give me two guns. At first I thought OP(!!!11) but since it gives me two pieces of one-colored guns (decided by default color or color of last use) I guess it's ment to be like that?

there are some items that fall into this potentially exploitable trap and I have 2 things to say to that.
1) I catch them as i go and if it happens to be a true exploit then i try to remove it in a timely fashion.
2) If for some reason i do not remove a recipe quick enough for you. There is a blacklist config for a reason. Sever owners and mod pack authors, !!GET THAT CRAP OUT!!. No one needs to be able to combine [1 mimichite+1 uncrafting table] to get [1 nether star].Love the tutorial. Thanks a lot, big help.
I really like your mod as it provides a fun way to multiply materials while remaining relatively balanced. I was wondering what is your policy on public modpacks as I don't see one stated in the OP.

I used this mod in Magic World 2 from FTB and would like to include it in my own mod pack. Of course, in accordance with your wishes, I am here to ask permission first before I just do. It'll just be for a handful of friends and myself (so, at most, six people using it until further notice).
I've added a temporary fix, or rather temporarily remove the problem code.
Result being that this crash will not occur again in any pack at the cost of not being able to use mimichite on wood. (who ever does anyway right?)
Can you please add a config option to disable experience drops from the worldgen? For some reason when a quarry touches worldgen from your mod it drops ludicrous amounts of experience and often times crashes out clients in the vicinity if it is left to run on its own. I think that we can all agree that 22 levels of experience from a single ore is a bug and since it doesn't happen with other ores like Sulfur which also drop Exp I'm pretty sure it's on the side of this mod.
Here's a 50 second video showing the bug.
This happens with a Quarry Plus. A normal quarry will drop the normal amount of Exp so it's some interaction between QP and Mimichite causing the spam but it's quite bad. It has crashed my server and players' clients several times.
It's not my Modpack, but it's just these two mods not interacting, so I figured I'd just post those two together in a new instance. Thanks for any help you could give. This mod is one I don't really want to remove from my pack.
Loving those textures for the mimic orb blocks and the mimikinetic upheaver. I'd love to see connected textures for those; that would be amazing.
Also noticed that the glazers only registered lava and water as liquids (I have hundreds of those in my game, so it was a bit of a shock).
I can't do anything about this because i don't know what quarry plus does in their code to make this occur. I will make a config in the future to remove xp drops form the ore however. that should at least allow you to avoid the mess.

The problem occurs due to the dynamic recipe handling. I will have to add custom handling for this mod until i can work out a fail-safe for the issue. Until then, add the item from that mod to the recipe blacklist. That should prevent the item from being processed buy the recipe handler thus avoiding the crash.
Ok I've tested and found that Mimicry works for 1.7.10 as well
I've posted an update to version 1.0.1 that finally adds the capability to make an item cost up to 648 mimichite.
It works by breaking down the custom value into blocks and orbs, rounding up, then compiling the recipe.
example: I set emerald to cost 400. that calculates to 4 blocks, 8 orbs, 4 mimichite. obviously there isn't room for that in the recipe so the value rounds up to 405 calculating to 5 blocks of mimichite.
the end result being 1 emerald + 5 Mimic Blocks = 2 emerald
all values will round up to the nearest quantity of blocks/orbs/mimichite that will fit in the recipe grid.
You may use it and i will add you to the list
I have a config for that however i don't think it's working right now. I broke it with one of the updates. Next update should have it working.

added config for removing xp drops from ore
overhauled dynamic recipe management for smeltables(should mean no more crashes due to render or index out of bounds)
I can't promise everything is working but I wanted to get a beta out for you guys to break.
Note: the ore doesn't glow right now...I'm sorry.
