I just need some way of testing whether WECUI works in 1.8 before I can release it. I updated the code but that doesn't really tell me much. If you're happy to host a server with WE then I can happily test this and release it.
There's already a Spigot for 1.8, although a bit unstable, with a compatible Worldedit version. Beyond that, there's also a Protocol hack before that, which supports the previous versions of WorldEdit, and works with the new blocks and items if you add the plugin "Carbon". If you need a server to test, I can offer one of the latter (PM me)
To everyone offering servers, please stop, that's not the issue any more since spigot came out. I've got a server, I'm troubleshooting an issue with WE to figure out if it's WE that's at fault, WECUI, or if it's some problem with 1.8. Please just be patient.
Udpated my server to 1.8, missing that mod ^^ Can't wait to see it released as beta or stable
Turns out that the build is actually stable, it's just spigot that's broken by the looks of it. So I will release it later but I will just be ignoring anyone who complains that all regions display as cuboids and directing them to the spigot support pages.

Nice! Although that probably is a worldedit 6 bug, it messed up many things... (I'd pay for a 5.6 port to 1.8)

Nope. That's what I thought to start with and why I was talking to sk about it, but the exact same jar on 1.7.10 works perfectly. Under spigot 1.8 I get random empty packets sent from the server as well, so I think plugin channels are just messed up somehow.

Although I know progress is Important, and we should move to 1.8 pretty soon, is there any chance you could test on the Spigot Protocol Hack? Assuming that you try that vrsion and it works, it would be nice to have a "dev build" just for that, as we're still using that with carbon, until the final 1.8 gets stable enough (The PH works pretty much okay, besides some missing new features, but worldedit 5 and 6 works like a charm)
Again, this petition is made assuming this packet issue maybe being on the "Spigot 1.8 server" side, and not on the "any 1.8 client" side

Have you tried rebuilding your spigot jar lately? They are pushing out fixes damn near daily.
He told you it doesnt work properly, are you happy now? This isnt one of those mods that really need that much testing. If he says it dont work properly, guess what.......
Chatted with md_5 and have now narrowed it down to an actual WorldEdit problem, it seems that WorldEdit it not even sending the correct packets for some reason.
Narrowed it down to the fact that in updating to 1.8 and the new PacketBuffer stuff, I hadn't realised that PacketBuffer's native string serialisation writes the data in a different format and was thus sending an invalid handshake all along! The "only showing cuboid" thing is apparently a fallback behaviour that WorldEdit has when it receives an unrecognised handshake, and the invalid packets were a red herring all along. I have no idea what causes them but apparently they don't do any harm.
Here's the updated an fully working download. I'll update the OP probably tomorrow when I have more time.
Did @Kiarules opened a test server? Thanks for helping him^^

Fine, but just be aware that it doesn't work properly with spigot.
