I'm doing a fair bit of clean-up on this post (mostly of the BBCode variety, but also fixing up some listings as well), so this is just a quick introduction here to my design philosophy.
I keep a simple outlook on the mods I design. The overarching point of my mods is to add things that fit well within the realms of Vanilla Minecraft. That's not to say that I don't enjoy mods (I do, IMMENSELY), but that my focus is developing things that feel like a natural extension to the base game.
I do branch out, and I love to support other mods compatibility-wise, and I'll even go as far as making non-Vanilla-esque options (MoreEnchants is a great example of this), but the goal remains the same.
Without Further Ado... Without Further Ado... Without Further Ado... Mods
Description FortuneOres is a beautiful, simple mod. FortuneOres offers an ore-doubling system through Vanilla mechanics, the Fortune enchantment.
With FortuneOres, the Fortune and Silk Touch enchantments now work "properly" with Iron and Gold Ores, which no longer drop their own blocks, but instead drop "Iron Chunk" and "Gold Chunk" respectively. These new items benefit properly from Fortune, using the same formula that vanilla ores (Diamond, Coal, etc) use to calculate drops.
No New Crafting Recipes
Iron and Gold now work the same as Diamonds, Coal, Redstone, and Lapis
Does not require new world generation to affect ores
Description MoreEnchants seeks to fill in the missing enchantments for in Vanilla Minecraft, as well as provide several new, unique mechanics for enchants to make enchanted items more exciting and enticing.
24 (and counting) NEW! Enchantments
A potent, powerful Charm system, allowing enchantments to be used from your inventory.
Description Another simple, vanilla-scented mod brings the convenience of EnderStorage to your world, while maintaining standard Ender Chest mechanics. SEP adds the Ender Pouch, allowing you to craft an Ender Chest with leather and string to create a portable Ender Storage solution, without requiring dyes or complicated color-channel systems, along with keeping your valuables safe! Highlights
Description GiftWrap allows you to wrap up items to give your Minecraft friends a surprise for birthdays, holidays, special events, or just because you're feeling peachy! Highlights
Vanilla Crafting Recipe
Mostly Shapeless Crafting
Recipe Wrapping a Gift is mostly shapeless! Just place the item you wish to wrap in the center of the Crafting Bench, and surround it with 4 Paper, 2 String, and 2 Dyes (any color works), in any order you wish! Showcases
Very, very simple Thermal Expansion AddOn that adds a Fluid Transposer recipe for 1 Slimeball + 250mB of Resonant Ender to make 1 Ender Pearl. Quick and simple mod, sorry for a real lack of substance here, it's pretty self-explanatory though.
The Fine Print
Nothing much to speak of here. Use my mods however you see fit. Modpacks, mod showcases, singleplayer worlds, multiplayer servers, learning purposes, whatever is fine. My only request is that you link back to EITHER this thread or my website when referencing a mod or using it in a public setting.
I'd also love it if you would let me know when you make videos or feature my mod on a website, that way I can check it out. Ultimately I do this for people to enjoy, and nothing brings me greater satisfaction than seeing my mods being used and enjoyed!
All my mods are open-source, and I've linked to each of their GitHub repositories under each heading. Feel free to use them and learn, but don't compile my mod and claim it as your own. That's just not playing nice.
I don't put my download links behind AdF.ly. I don't feel that it's worth my users' time and it ultimately isn't contributing to the costs of hosting. Instead, I have listed several ways you can show me some love below, and any users' who wish to give are more than welcome. Thanks again for the support!
You MAY NOT, under ANY circumstances, rehost my mod downloads for manual download without my expressed written permission. While you are welcome to place my mods in automated download systems (launchers for modpacks, personal/private use ZIPs for servers, etc), any and all manual, individual downloads need to be referred to the appropriate page on my website. Additionally, it is my preference that, since direct download links are given, automated downloads should use those downloads whenever possible, as it helps keep my download counter accurate.
How to contribute to my work
Here's a quick link to a simple PayPal donation page where you can send me any amount of your choosing! Buy me a Monster or Lunch or whatever you like, any amount is very much so appreciated, and these donations go to feeding me as I code away. I'll be adding a page to my website as well soon that lists everyone that sends me a PayPal donation.
I've set up a promo code with DreamHost (the provider that I use for my website and files hosting) and am able to give you a discount of $70 USD when you pay for a 1- or 2-year hosting package.
These shared hosting packages are great, with phenomenal uptime (read: I've never had any downtime), offering unlimited HDD, bandwidth, domains, email, MySQL, shell access, everything. I haven't had a single problem with at all and am recommending it to anyone who needs any level of web hosting solution.
When prompted, be sure to enter the promo code DEMOXINMC to get a $70 discount on your package, bringing your total cost for 1 year to $49.40 (59% discount) or for 2 years to $144.80 (33% discount). Any packages created with this promo code also help me out paying for hosting of my own files so I don't need to use bloated file hosting sites and can keep giving direct links.
I recently stumbled onto this monthly mailer called LootCrate and it's a HUGE spark of inspiration for my every month. For those who aren't aware, LootCrate is a box that comes in the mail around the 20th of each month and is filled with nerdy memorabilia and such (t-shirts, collectibles, comics, etc). I love getting these things.
I have a referrer URL and if you subscribe to get your own LootCrate through my link, it gives me a $5 discount on mine, so we both win! You get awesome stuff, and I get it a little cheaper.
I realize going in that this site looks like a huge scam, and as such, I was apprehensive about touching it. Even some internet research wasn't giving a clear picture, so I decided to say "SCREW IT" and went ahead and risked it to buy Diablo III: Reaper of Souls off the site. Much to my personal amazement, it worked beautifully, I had a working code (already redeemed on Battle.net and downloading now. :3) in my email in about 6 minutes, and saved about $12 in the span of it. So, I'm pleasantly surprised that G2A is a legit site.
Once again, I have a referral URL listed here. Unfortunately, like with LootCrate, you don't save anything for using it, but it does end up helping me out feeding my gaming habit, so any clicks/purchases are much appreciated, and hopefully you can pick up something for cheap as well. They also accept PayPal if you're still nervous about the whole thing.
Deployed a small update to my website that was causing some people to get the wrong download when they attempted to update FortuneOres. This problem has been alleviated, please redownload from the link above if you were affected.
This may be possible in the configs to change but what about supporting Thermal Expansion? I use the COFH configs to generate my world and disable ore generation from BC, IC2, UE and the like. Is it possible to use the config to get support for the copper, tin, lead, and silver from TE3? Could you add support for ferrous in the future?
Support for Ferrous was added in 1.1 as of Thursday Nov 28. Additionally, all other CoFH ores should already be supported as FortuneOres does use Ore Dictionary to alter drops. Metallurgy support is an issue I'm thinking on, as it would take a quite large amount of work to support almost 30 new ores.
