Hi, when you say it's in beta mode, does that mean it actually works at the moment or is it no released yet?
Because I want to install this mod with forge but I'm not sure how.
It's released and so far working. The latest version that has forge support is here. Remember this is only for 1.7.2, 1.7.4 for forge is coming next week.
Just put that in your mods folder and you should be ready to go.

Even though Optifine would work. I'd rather have a minimal amount of mods installed at a user friendly approach with out running a launcher to get a collection working and with out having to unload all the mods into a folder run something to check for conflicts and recompress them into one file.
But at least all that work isn't as time consuming as getting multiple mods working for Neverwinter =.=...10 different mod tools and a self created drop in zone to load the content to chars...so not user friendly modding. Spend over a day coding just to get it all working.
This ones pretty nice. It includes forge, non-forge, fly, and non-fly versions all in one.
- To install the non-forge version: double click on the downloaded file and it will open up the installer like usual.
- To install the forge version: place the downloaded file into your mods folder.
The XRay.txt config file has a new option: enable_fly. Set this to true to enable fly, and false to disable it.
I'm going to give this one about a week, to allow time for people to report any bugs. Then I'll update it for 1.7.4 and fix up the main post with the latest download links and better instructions.
I only have voxelmap installed, and I put the file in my mods folder, but it never creates a config file or shows up as loaded in-game. In my FML log it appears to load as a coremod. How do I configure the keybindings if there's no config file?
Forgive me if this been discovered or discussed. I have found a bug related to X-Ray and redstone power lines and switches. I made a piston clock to power a sticky piston to release water to flush my mob spawner. I got it working and then when I left the area the flusher was stuck with the water flowing all the time which means something was wrong. I now this because I used X-Ray to look inside my trap. I go back and I find all of the redstone power lines, torches and repeaters floating above the ground. It is like they disintegrated when flowing water touches them. I know is X-Ray causing this because I fix the clocks, rerun minecraft without X-Ray and the piston clock and flusher work all the time even when I was away. I resinstalled X-Ray and soon as I walked away the redstone stuff disintegrated again. Any thoughts? Thanks

Are you using 1.7.2? Can you try without voxelmap?

This was an old bug. It has since been fixed - are you using the latest version??

I used MCPatcher but I removed that. I download from the link above that says v2 patcher. I run it and it says it patch. I run minecraft but I see no xray profile. The one profile I have I go ahead and load it but xray not working.

v2 patcher? It should be v4. Are you patching 1.7.2 or 1.7.4?

That was the final piece. I had about 5 different versions out there from patching. One failed but one of the earlier patches I did today worked. Piston clock working also. Thanks
I installed this mod and it works perfectly, but I came across a problem. Since installing the mod, the FullBright mode won't turn off, no matter how many times I press L. It does something that looks similar to a chunk reload, but it doesn't turn off FullBright, and it really bugs me. I am using the 1.7.2 without Fly version of the mod, and installed Optifine version 1.7.2 HD U D1 and VoxelMap(Zan's Minimap) for 1.7.2 through the XRay's Add Other Mods feature in the patcher. All three mods work fine, but I just want to be able to turn off FullBright ! Please Help! A to whoever can help me fix this problem! Thanks!

Use the 'Auto Repair' button in the patcher, then reinstall it.

I'm pretty sure I'm using the latest version. I don't get the 'new version of xray available' message anymore, so I think I ran the patcher correctly.

Yes, it was Xray bug, but existed in one of the first versions. Are you sure you have latest version?
This was an old bug. It has since been fixed - are you using the latest version??

having the same problem. i tried 1.7.4 with fly, 1.7.4 without fly, and 1.7.2 with fly. none work. the patcher doesnt even open. someone helpppppp
