The only external file Xray uses for configurations is called "XRayDLB3-xxxx.JSON" and can be found in the '.minecraft/config/' folder
Maybe this has corrupted somehow (not sure HOW you deleted something using 'J' menu though - did you manually edit this file in notepad ??, if you did I suspect you accidentally left off a comma somewhere).
It could be when you are reinstalling Xray it's looking at the old corrupted JSON file & not recognising it & so Xray won't work
If you find this file & delete it (I suggest actually backing it up somewhere else first) then when Xray runs it will create a new config file & hopefully it should all work OK again
Deleted the file, nothing changed, still like this:
Ah OK - I misunderstood what you were saying.
Your problem seems to be an empty configuration.
The reason it's empty is because xray hasn't 'seen' any blocks yet until you activate it - by pressing 'x'
You say pressing 'x' doesn't do anything though which is puzzling. The only thing I can think of is a keybinds conflict. (does 'c' work - I know 'j' does)
Have you looked at your controls to see if any are red.. You may find x is used in both xray section & possibly another function (I think vanilla MC uses x for something like toolbars)
If you do have a conflict change one of them to something else & see what happens.
If/when xray activates the j menu will start filling up with blocks it sees
If there's certain blocks missing then one way is to use a creative map & place those blocks down & activate xray to register it
Edit: found out there's a built in Minecraft 'debug' world mode (https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Debug_mode) which shows every block in the game which might help
Yep, X and C were set for something else...
Thanks a lot
I cant find the xray for 1.12.2 no forge
Techically there was never a release for 1.12.2.
The original Developer stopped supporting it after 1.12.1 & the current developer took over unofficial version from 1.13
A lot fo 'hacked' version of 1.12 were done by other people but most of the links they supplied are now defunked.
Luckily I have a copy that worked for me(& a couple of other people have tried it with success) & you can download it from
http://www.mediafire.com/file/1d3snonv59fyb2k/XRay-Mod-1.12.2.jar/file
I'm sorry if this was asked before but why when I download (for instance the 1.15.2 version) is it in zip format? do I just delete the .zip and have it renamed to .jar or is the download supposed to stay a zip? also, is there going to be support for people who use the Twitch app? I'd like to have this but it shows up as an invalid mod file
Signs You're an Aging Gamer: You Press the "A" or "X" Button Rapidly During Loading Screens
Some web
For some reasons some web browsers tend to either add .zip or change the .jar to .zip when downloading so you are correct..
...all you have to do is remove the '.zip' & change it to '.jar'
As for suppoert for twitch.. I'm afraid that is down to the current developer to decide... AFAIK he is currently trying to get the thing mod loader compatible first but since he doesn't have the original developers source code, he (I'm guessing) is stuggling to understand how the modloaing code works
Hey guys, could someone please provide a version that can be installed over 1.16 snapshot versions? I haven't looked into the decompiled code much yet, but I suppose that allowed versions are hardcoded. I'd like to see if current implementation of XRay works in 1.16.
Or just tell me which classes to look into and I'll try to fiddle around with it myself.
Cheers!
I NEED HELP TO INSTALL INTO ATLAUNCH. Followed instruction!!! ITS NOT WORKING!!!
NO NEED TO SHOUT !!!!!
Firstly, 'ATLAUNCH' ?? - do you mean 'AtLauncher' - if so then this is a Mod launcher & as far as I can see it may use Forge as it's modloader.
Second, you don't say which version of Minecraft you are trying to install it on
Thirdly, which instructions - those on the first post of this thread (which is for the pre-1.13 version of the mod - which incidentally is for vanilla launcher only) or the instructions found on the discord server (which you can download a PDF from http://www.mediafire.com/file/zvxg9qltquol4hg/Xray_Installation.pdf/file)
Regardless, If you searched through the posts here (or even bothered to visit the Discord server for this mod) you will find that this mod DOES NOT WORK WITH ANY MODLOADER since Minecraft 1.13+.
The main reason is that the original developer had stopped supporting this mod, & another developer has retro-decompiled the mod (since the source code was never released) & is adapting it to work with newer version of minecraft, but is currently unable to figure out how to make it modloader compatible
Just to see if it is possible I've downloaded/installed Atlauncher, made a vanilla minecraft instance - then attempted to install this xray mod, & guess what - it doesn't work (not that I expected it too anyway)
IF you REALLY want to cheat & use xray with atlauncher - you just need to first create an instance that has forge included (eg 'vanilla Minecraft with forge' - there doesn't seem to be any 'featured packs' newer than 1.12.2),
Click on the [Add Mods] button - in the search box enter 'xray' & search, then with the results click on [Add] (When I looked there were 2 xray mods available)
IF you want to TRY & install THIS xray mod into a feature pack - you will need to try xray47 (the last offical released version by original developer up to 1.11) or xray58 (unofficial beta/hacked version for 1.12.x) & on your atlauncher instance click the [Edit Mods] & browse to the mod

Amazing work @DromarLeBanisseur
You have just made a lot of people very, very happy
Signature removed by popular demand.
Hi, are there any plans to include all the blocks such as ancient debris, trapped chests, or command blocks? The 1.15.2 version had a lot more options to specifically xray for.
The list with blocks is populated dynamically. If none of these blocks are/were in the world anywhere near you, then X-Ray won't show them in the list.
Are you sure that this is not what is happening?

is this compatible with fabric?
To DromarLeBanisseur,
First I really appreciate everything you have done to keep Xray going, but I do have a question, that I know you have heard before. At one time you said that a Fabric version might be possible in the future, Is it still a possibility. I run a server that has rollbacks for damage done by griefers. The combination of your Xray and a map mod like Voxel Maps would be invaluable to me. I have been logging in in out with the two alternately. When trying to assess damage and also see underground portions of bases and mark the areas on the map. Again I do not want you to think I am ungrateful. I did manage to get your mod to work with Cocohead"s Rift back on 1.13.2 and use Xray with VoxelMap (it was just dumb luck on my part, I am not a programmer) but we are way past that version now. I am just asking if it is something you are still considering or not.
Again thank you for all your work
