Hello
I have a question
So I have Windows 10 Pro so I had some problems with MC and needed to change the path of it so for example I moved quite literally the whole game from %appdata% to C:/ProgramData.Minecraft but still have the %appdata% folder and the X-Ray keeps installing there and don't know how to make it install in the other folder.
Could I please get some help?
Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft\MinecraftLauncher.exe" --workDir %ProgramData%.minecraft
For the installation of XRay the MC folder must be named '.minecraft'. This folder can be anywhere on your disk but must be named like this.
In your example it is named 'ProgramData.minecraft' , presumably because the environnement variable %ProgramData% was unset at the time.
If you meet this naming condition, you can install XRay with a command prompt (cmd) then type :
set APPDATA=<the path of the parent folder of the MC folder>
java -jar xray-67-1144.jar

@tsyklop: I seem to agree with Robinj that it looks like betterfps mod may be causing problems.
I also see that you may also be using multimc ('org.multimc.onesix.OneSixLauncher.launch(OneSixLauncher.java:231)')
If so try disabling betterfps & see what happens.. also assuming you just [add to minecraft. jar] the mod (seems like its a dedicated installer like Xray) you could try rearranging the order of xray & betterfps by moving one of then above the other - I found out that I could use xray with the worlddownload mod but only if xray was higher in list than WDL
@repodraghon I assume you're talking to me as I said 'I know nothing about Twitch app' in an earlier post (#4546) - maybe I didn't make make myself clear... sorry
... perhaps I should've said
'I have never used Twitch launcher so I don' t know how it installs forge/rift/fabric mods, nor if it detects the existing vanilla/modded profiles found in the standard vanilla launcher and uses those instead, or if it's like multimc in the way that it creates its own profiles (called 'instances') that can be in a different location & totally seperated from each other, so the following information may not be relevent in this situation.... '
THEN posted the rest of the information in that post saying that Xray is not a 'Drag-&-drop' mod like standard forge/rift/fabric mod & that the information I gave is assuming that the Twitch app only looks at the vanilla launcher profiles instead of making its own & the possibility of Twitch app wasn't setup properly to use the correct xray profile
Hi so I installed xray for 1.14.3 and I can see it as a Launcher Profile but how does it work with forge? because whenever i load my forge profile its not listed as a mod or anything...
The developer always posts a disclaimer whenever he releases a version of Xray
- Un-official, without permission of AO
- Only for version : x.xx.x
- Tested on vanilla
- Not compatible with Fabric (news are coming later)
- Not compatible with Forge (news are coming later)
EDITI'm a Mac user and I'm having a very strange issue with this xray mod (with 1.14.4 version). When I install it I open minecraft and I can see the xray options on settings but the game it's like "not opened at all". I'll try to explain: when you open any program in Mac it appears down in the programs bar the icon of the program opened (java in this case) and with a black point on the bottom. The problem it's that when I open Minecraft using a version with the xray mod installed, the icon indicating that java is running minecraft does not appear and so when I enter a world my mouse doesn't disappear to let me move the camera as it should be. Also I cannot use the keyboard so I can't move. As I say I hadn't never reported something similar... I'd really appreciate any help.
EDIT: I haven't seen that the solution was posted on the previous page, I am sooo happy, I had been trying to solve that issue for hours. Thank you so much.
sorry but how do you fix this problem? I am experiencing the same problem on MAC. I looked at the last page but i did not find any solutions? thanks
EDIT: I think that i did follow the steps correctly and edited the code? However, when i try pressing play and launching minecraft, it says 'Error! Unable to start the game' Thanks.
Since I'm seeing the same questions popping up with installation on the Discord channel I thought I'd attempt to make an 'all-in-one' Document to try & explain how to do it properly in a step-by-step guide. (note I've only done it for 2 of the more popular launchers that we've figured out how to install with)
If you're planning to install Xray - download this document & give the instructions a try & hopefully you'll have a trouble free installation
Please note that this is a 'first draft' & any comments/suggestions to try & make the instructions clearer are welcome

I suggest you upload it to Google Docs or something, so people won't have to download anything.
I think Dropbox and OneDrive have online preview options for PDF files as well.

Obviously a big thanks regardless.
Well - I tried google docs but for some reason the preview don't show the pictures & Google screws the format up (see pics)
I don't have Dropbox & don't fancy signing up for yet ANOTHER online storage facility & never used Onedrive
I DID try Onedrive just to try it out & got a link to share however it seems people can easily find out my real name by clicking on the information 'i' (Can't find a way to shut that down) & I don't like sharing my real name out to complete strangers
Another reason to download is that people could download the doc onto their phone/tablet & read through the guide while at the computer without having to keep minimising/maximising the PC windows
can the xray detect stronghold too?
yes, the default configuration detects stone bricks etc, and even if it didn't you could just make a config that does
For the installation of XRay the MC folder must be named '.minecraft'. This folder can be anywhere on your disk but must be named like this.
In your example it is named 'ProgramData.minecraft' , presumably because the environnement variable %ProgramData% was unset at the time.
If you meet this naming condition, you can install XRay with a command prompt (cmd) then type :
then follow the instructions as usual.
Alternatively, you could install it in the normal location and then copy the installed files to your local setup?

I downloaded xray for 1.12.2 and get next error:
How did you install it?
It seems like it's clashing with BetterFPS.

Please for the love of god don't say "don't know nothing" that is unless you mean you do know something, you simply didn't need to add "nothing"
OK, I understand that the mod is now a standalone mod and can't simply be added, thanks for the info...

@minecraftgamer1269: It looks like you may be missing a comma
You have:
"game": [
"--tweakClass",
"net.minecraftxray.loader.XRayTweaker"
"--noXrayGui"
]
it should be:
"game": [
"--tweakClass",

@CannonFoddr: Thanks so much! It worked!
