It's not entirely free he gets like idk home much for each download from adfly but yea he doesnt this for free just uses adfly to bring in little amounts but Im sure as it sounds like he is full time college student this gets worked on in his like free 45 minuets a day
Would it be possible to get a function to highlight blocks that are dark enough for monster spawns? I used to use zombe's mod for this but it's been abandoned, it seems
Rather than wishing mods updated faster, I'll wish that servers gave it a couple weeks before forcing everyone to update. Llamas aren't THAT great...

I can't find where he said it, but A.O. mentioned at some point that the amount of money he gets from AdFly is barely enough to buy him like one cup of coffee per week.
I tried installing this on an FTB modpack (Infinity evolved 1.7.10) and it isn't working at all, it doesn't crash or anything but I look through the mod list and it isn't there, it doesn't acknowledge it at all. I am pretty sure I installed it in the right place, with all the other mods.
I have been using this mod and praising AmbientOcclusion for his dedication, always quick to update and replies to all our messages on the forum.
Well now I was updating to the last version #44 and Minecraft crashed. I backed to #43, same crash on MC 1.10.2.
I then went back to my previous version (and re-install) #31 and I can live with that.
I wonder if I am the only one having this problem, maybe because I am running MC on Linux?

Thanks Nagapito, I tried installing x-ray on another (Linux) computer with Java v. 1.8.0 77, - crash.
Try with the official Oracle JRE you have OpenJDK JRE. Because this isn't an error being caused by the mod having bad code as that method does exist but by your JRE which I suspect is due to you using OpenJDK

As others have said, I believe it may be due to you using OpenJDK or an older version of Java. Nonetheless, I want my mod to be backwards compatible with previous versions of Java and OpenJDK. I believe I have fixed this in version 45. Can you download that version and see if it's fixed?

in the latest release (43) i cant turn the visibility of buildcraft pipes on and off anymore. they simply just dont show in the list
...So...where is 1.11?
Patience young grasshoppa. A lot of FREE labor goes into these mods.

He's basically doing this for free.
Pretty sure that there is a Forge mod to do that. If you have a decent computer, install Xray and LLOR (Light Level Overlay Reloaded) with Forge. Link here:https://mods.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/226670-light-level-overlay-reloaded#t1:other-downloads
Best of luck!
-Alas
Update it to the version 1.11 please.
Still looking forward to the 1.11 version.
@AmbientOcclusion If the adfly money is insignificant why not open source this mod and allow other people to update it for you and help you?

Is there a non-forge mod that does this? Forge crashes on launch and its forum people aren't very helpful.
I've released version 44 which includes 1.11 support. As usual, report any bugs you find as soon as possible. Enjoy.

Thanks for the update!
Quick question, how do I install it into a MultiMC vanilla instance?
I didnt wanted to add forge to my client....

Try updating your Java, you have 1.7_75, and Java is already on 1.8_111.

Just drop Java 7 support Mojang plans to soon. https://help.mojang.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2636196-minecraft---java-6-and-7-support . Oracle themselves says to not use 7 there is no benifit to keeping it if anything there is more of a disavantage. Though I see your want to keep OpenJDK support. But other than that I love your mod
Ones again, Thanks AmbientOcclusion now version #45 works fine on both Java OpenJDK 1.7 and 1.8.0 77.
Problem solved
