I've known about that mod and even recommended it over my own if you are using Forge, and it also lets you freely change the size/frequency of cave systems, though it only appears to be for 1.7; the author has also been inactive since 2018 (they also have other mods, such as Random Biomes, which was inspired by my own mod of the same name, and later lead to Climate Control; as with the cave mods I'd always recommend these over my own for the versions they support as they are Forge compatible and/or much easier to use and install and configurable).
Is there any way to confirm that it works? I haven't noticed a difference in my caves.

You can use Unmined to view the underground; for example, the seed "-123775873255737467" should look like this (centered around -92, 236, the spawn point in 1.6.4). Note that unless they also change ravines and mineshafts they will not match (if not, then ravines are in the same locations but generate in different directions from their start; mineshafts are 2.5 times rarer, as are dungeons. Note that mineshafts become less common within 1280 blocks of the origin so the differences can be harder to see unless you go further out).
Also, not all areas of the 1.6.4 underground are denser; the much larger and denser cave networks are complemented by much larger regions of low cave density; the changes in 1.7 actually didn't change the overall cave density that much but how much it varies on a regional scale, as seen in these images (cave systems in 1.6.4 can get about 3 times larger but this is a size range; conversely, they are more than twice as common in 1.7 so the overall density is about 23% less and the difference is air volume is about 15% due to less overlap between caves).
These mods are very simple compared to "TheMasterCaver's World", including "TheMasterCaver's World Underground", which only includes caves, not any of the many other features from TMCW, including underground biomes and other underground features, as well as many additions and changes to caves since TMCWv4, released 5 years ago (many of these would require much more extensive changes to the code, making Forge compatibility completely impossible, and/or requiring more core code changes than I was willing to do, even just the cave generation required some compromises. However, you can try out Immersive Cavegen, a proper Forge mod which includes some of my code (not sure how similar it is) and additional features similar to what TMCW itself has).
Hello MasterCaver, I was wondering if there was anyway you could make whatever you used to make those cave maps into a mod for mapping out caves that has a map you can hold in your hand. I know there are mods that map out caves but they all are minimap mods that don't really let you do much with your map to communicate things you've found to other people in game. If you don't wanna share or can't because the way it's done I completely understand, but I'd really appreciate it if you could.

TheMasterCaver's World has cave maps, which are a variant of in-game maps which map out caves that have been lit up by torches, and even work in the Nether, although it is for 1.6.4 and is a standalone mod which does a lot more than just add cave maps:
3x3 cave maps (384x384 blocks) of a giant cave region, the largest underground feature in TMCW:
A branch-mine I made; you can also see parts of my base near the left side (only what is underground, or below sea level):
A cave map in the Nether (level 3), showing the path I took to find a fortress:
A stronghold on a cave map (level 2):
However, I do not take mod requests, especially for anything other than 1.6.4, or requiring a modloader (I've never even touched any version after 1.13, and even then only to make the "old caves" mod which I discontinued due to the difficulty in updating it, inability to replicate 1.6.4 caves due to changes to the RNG seeding, and lack of demand, plus there are Forge mods that can do the same thing; in fact, you can find Forge versions of most of the mods in this thread here, albeit for 1.7.10).
That said, I looked for similar mods (using in-game maps, not a minimap) and the only one I found for newer versions is for 1.10 and is not a Forge mod, and appears to map anything regardless of whether it was lit up (the principle is simple enough; search downwards until a block with a light level of 6 (or your threshold) above a "mappable" block is found, then search for a torch within an 8 block (or 14 - threshold) range, in my case I use a modified version of the lighting code so it obeys walls).
Hello, I would like to know if there is any way to obtain the mod to customize the caves (that is, to have the 1.6 caves back), and in general all these mods that you put in version 1.8.9, since in my opinion it is the best version of Minecraft and I would like to play it with these options[/pre]
Is there any way to confirm that it works? I haven't noticed a difference in my caves.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

Ah ok I'll have to either learn modding or nerf the crap outta journey maps or something instead. Thanks for replying.
