Hey Greenshoes I have a simple suggestion for you should'nt The Necromite sword be a tiny bit stronger seems you have to get diamonds to go to the nether
The Necromite sword is actually quite strong. While it does less damage than diamond on first hit, it applies the wither effect which damages the mob/player even more. When cursed, it is even better.
Also, I am starting work on the Nether biomes! (And I am working towards compatability with BOP, which does the same thing). I have these four ideas for biomes so far, do you have any suggestions on more biomes/biomes ideas listed here that should not be added/suggestions for these biomes?
The Soulsand Desert (which is similar to a desert, but with soulsand instead of sand, and patches of cursed soulsand littering the landscape.
The Vileswamp (a swampy biome filled with poison lakes, netherthorns, and increased amount of vilewood trees)
The Default Nether Biome (needs no explanation, it should spawn three or four times more commonly than the other biomes)
And the Volcanic Wasteland, a biome filled with lava pools, and deep ravines. (I'm not sure about this biome, do you think I should have it?)

Sounds good. But I would suggest having some gravel and/or netherrack mixed in the soul sand desert so it isn't super slow to travel. Lots of clusters of it is good, but 90% soul sand may be too much.
All of the 3 new biome ideas sound like they would be more flat than steep though. Or maybe like layer of it, which would be cool. One idea that would be interesting to see if something like a Cliffs biome. It would be more like the normal nether, but with a lot more steep drops and mountain like landscape. Maybe it could even use a lot of gravel and lava traps (e.g. gravel falls into lava pools).
That could be interesting... I really like the idea of having gravel and netherrack in the soul desert. And the cliff biome could be really interesting...
Hey a have a progrem with the cloak, can u remove it
PD: I like this mod a TON
Sorry - I can't remove the capes (aka cloaks) as it would probably get a large amount of people sending me death threats over loosing their capes.
But I will try my best to fix it. To start, assuming you are getting a crash with the capes, do you have any other mods installed? If not, what is the problem?
Those biomes sound great. I assume you will be adding biome specific dungeons like temples are in the over world. Otherwise I will probably just avoid the soulsand deserts like over world oceans.
I have an idea for a new ore/liquid/tools. Acid. The liquid could damage the player and destroy any block/item it comes in contact with except specific blocks like obsidian, diamond, bedrock, quarts (so you can put it in a quarts cauldron) etc. It could spawn in as pools in one your biomes or possibly a new plant that you craft with a bottle to get a bottle O' acid. I don't know what the ore would be called but the tools could have low durability but mine anything really fast with the chance to destroy the item.

All of those biomes are like listed in BoP. So really if your going to add thouse biomes i don't think your going to need BoP to play with the mod also Soulsand desserts God thats going to be a pain to walk! why not add a some special boots or something to allow the player travel on soulsand quicker like making Blazing charges a tamable ridable mob? But the Vilewood swamp it seems pretty cool you should have one on lava lakes and poison lakes because a swamp is a flooded forest right?
The volcanic wasteland sounds awesome! You should definentely add it! What about a poison ocean, that could have special ruins scattered on the ocean floor.

I love the idea of Nether biomes! Super cool. The Vileswamp and Volcanic Wasteland sound epic, although the Soulsand Desert biome sounds a little annoying if it's pretty much all soulsand. I second the idea for special soulsand-resistant boots.
I also have an idea for a new generated structure. The Haunted Ranch is an old, dilapidated farm containing a soulsand field with a few glutroots still growing there, the rest picked out by Gluttons, which spawn more often near this structure, as well as an worse-for-ware little hut containing a Nether spider spawner and a chest. A broken Blazing Charger pen is another possible idea. It could be the Nether equivalent to Dungeons.

I have the game with 26 mods XD, But I have idfix so The game never crashes, the only problem is the cloak :(.
When you will launch the actualization???

I have many mods, but I installed idfix so game doesn't crashes because of id conflicts.
When you will launch the actualization with the disable cloaks option?
So will biomes be in this update or the next? I would like to know since if not I'll just explore new chunks, but if the answer is yes, then I don't want to enter the nether and then realize Nether X just updated. Thanks!

In the next update for NetherX - I'm not sure when it will come out. Until then, you will have to play without the mod that is conflicting with NetherX.

Yes. I already have coded them up - they look really cool! But beware the soulsand deserts - they are filled with new scary mobs and dangerous traps....
Also I added an option in the config to enable respawning in the Nether! That should make nether survivalists happy!
Greenshoes, I love the biomes ideas you have presented and I wanted to tell you that I fixed the bug with my texture pack, I accidentally made the helmet 17x16 which caused the bug derp
Awesome! I'm glad the helmet's working for you - if you want, when you are done with it, I'll put a link to it here on this forum page.
Oh, and I had an idea that combines the idea of cursed reeds with the vileswamp - perhaps the vileswamp is filled with these dark cursed reeds, which can be grown on netherrack or soulsand next to poison lakes? That would add a useful feature to the vileswamp (which, other than that, is rather lacking).
I had another idea, perhaps witch huts made out of vilewood can rarely spawn in the vileswamp. It would explain where the witch got all it's glowstone from. What do you think of that idea? Should I let witches be an "overworld-only" mob, or let them spawn in the Nether, too?
Yes, witches should also be nether mobs. Maybe there could be chests in the nether witch huts with potions of inter dimensional travel. When drunken or thrown these will take you to the nether or vise versa. This could explain why witches are in the overworld. If I redownload your mod will I lose all my nether x stuff?

That's odd... I know Ninjabee is using NetherX alongside Render Player API, and not getting a crash...
Here's what I can do - I'll make capes disable-able in the config.
