You don't you still right click on the Stargate's base to check the address. I just tested it.
Ohhh, right, I forgot you have to actually hit the base block in LC2, not just anywhere on the ring any more. I'll give it another try.
Anyone figured out the portable DHDs yet? Or are they "present but not yet implemented"? It'll be great if we can have portable DHDs that can store a list of known gate addresses.

So, what is the configurator for? And are any of the IRIS working yet, either Mechanical or Energy? Also, is the Portable DHD even functional or is it just "WIP"?

I can answer one or two of these. The Iris is not functional as of yet. I also do not believe the configurator has a function yet. Remember, the version your on is a work in progress.

As far as I can tell, the portable DHD does nothing, yet.
Ok that eases my mind on if i was just missing a 1.8 version, is the new version going to be for 1.8 or later (just wondering, i don't have a preference either way).

I think Lochie said that he was going to keep it in 1.7.10 for now but don't hold me to that one, I can't exactly remember.
What is the benefit of keeping it in 1.7.10 instead of having it for 1.8 or higher? (i only ask this as i'm not a modder and i have no idea about differences lol)

two questions. one: how many of the features from stable build 70 are in unstable build 15? and also how do i disguise the bottome of the gate to look like whatever platform i build around it? never could figure that one out. lol.
Most of the core features are there. You should consider updating, because there's not going to be any further updates beyond build 70.

Portable DHD's are a work in progress; you'll be able to save addresses, yes.
You'll also be able to keep a notebook of all addresses (this isn't the purpose for the Daniel Jackson Notebook), too.

The configurator and the portable DHD aren't ready yet.
Is that a no to any possible 1.8 version, or is there one in the works, but won't be out for a bit?
I would like to target both 1.7.10 and 1.8, but there are a lot of differences between them which make this hard:
Most of the block rendering got scrapped and converted to JSON, so we have to do the same thing in a lot of places.
I don't know how to do a lot of the fancier "cover" block rendering yet - it'll probably have to move to TESR, which means there's performance issues to contend with.
A lot of changes to the way values are passed around internally - this sounds good, but it makes running two versions of the source for the two versions of Minecraft is much more of a complicated task.
A lot of stuff got renamed or reshuffled as well; this is small things like "where is something located" or big things which have pretty much broken dimension / teleportation support.
At this stage, I'm going to continue working on features in 1.7.10 and will attempt to continue porting to 1.8; those of you who have seen the updates on this will know there's a very long way to go before we can even test the port to 1.8. A lot of the other mods we depend on haven't made it to 1.8 yet either, so we need to wait for them too.
TL:DR; 1.8 is a big change; we'll make it eventually (once the big mods do), but for now we're going to continue adding new stuff to 1.7.10.

And to the best of my knowledge, at this point pretty much the only "big" mods that have updated to 1.8 are Biomes'O'Plenty, Mo'Creatures, and Thaumcraft.

There's a few others in the process of moving over, i.e RFTools has a 1.8 beta. There are enough mods out now for modpacks to appear, but none of the big tech mods have a 1.8 version out as of yet.

Well as long as LanteaCraft actually gets a working version in the next time for 1.7.10, i am happy. The things that basically are necessary are only a few, such as the dialing has to be correct (not that the ring spins as fast as it does right now, it is unbelievably fast), the gates are actually working and can disconnect from each other, they require power, and the IRIS works. Everything else can be done over multiple updates, but the base features are what is necessary. The Portable DHD is a good idea, but some like me use ComputerCraft and do not actually need it, so again, base features are the most important right now But i am sure you get it to work Lochie
I've been using this mod for quite some time and decided to update to the dev/unstable builds, since i also needed to setup a new quarry. So the Progress reset was no problem. But the ores do not generate in my World. Started my frame quarry in chunks generated after my update to unstable ver. 16 and dug a rectangle of 120 x 16 down to bedrock. No naquadah, no tritium nothing.
Is there some config option for ore generation?
I ask, since i only have a config.xml for lanteacraft in my minecraft folder with about 10 lines of code. Basically only activating 4 components and setting the texture size.
Am i missing something?
Not just you, but in general there is a lot to be fixed in the mod, before new stuff can/will/should be added. I think you just need to wait, maybe it (and some other things) are fixed in the next version.
It appears he's making the 'unstable' builds the default download now. Not surprising, considering the 'unstable' builds are (as I understand it) more stable than the previous builds. Curse hasn't been updated yet, but I imagine that's not too far behind.

Keep up the good work, I love the Mod!!!!
One question, is there a version for 1.8 or is 1.7.10 forge the latest?
I am looking forward to the next installment of this mod.
Thank you
I'm not the author but I can answer, the latest version is for 1.7.10 forge.

You can find the unstable builds here, although you should read this post first.

You need to upgrade to an experimental build.

1.7.10 is currently the only available version.

Is there an update coming up soon?
Why do I get a sweet kitty when I go to http://cdn.afterlifelochie.net/mods/lanteacraft/unstable.php ?
It looks like Lochie is moving things around. Take a look at http://cdn.afterlifelochie.net/mods/lanteacraft/ (the default download location)
