This launcher is not just for the evanMC modpack, it could easily be for any modpack that is 1.6.2+.
Problem: An easy way to get and update 1.6+ modpacks
Solution: evanMC Launcher
The evanMC Launcher is the new way you to play modpacks and the absolute best and easiest way for modpack creators to distribute their packs. Simply choose your pack and hit update.

evanMC Modpack:
This is really why I created the launcher, it had started out as a 1.6.2 private pack that I updated almost everyday. My friends that played it got quickly annoyed at how hard it was to stay up to date. This annoyed me too, and the launcher was born.
What files/folders are required in the pack zip ? Just the mods or the configs as well? Is it possible to have a little warning if the configs change on mod packs that it can say it might break singleplayer worlds? Thanks for this, I will try it out.

This was shown in the video that's taking an unfortunate amount of time to upload :/
It creates a separate folder in your appdata or application support on mac with all the packs and pack info.
Then it updates your launcher profiles for the minecraft launcher to create a profile for the pack, so no minecraft files are overwritten(besides the profiles)
This is what the folders look like
Also the files you include in your zip are at the very least your config and mods folder, then any other files you need (in my case I have a GunCus folder in mine)
If you like the launcher you will LOVE the server.
The IP of the official server is included in your download, and should automatically be in your server list
