how and where am i supposed to go to fight the hell cows? in the latest version its removed so how do i get the cows to kill them legit? (im running a private server with just AM2 so dont say i need some other mod)
Has anything changed with the Crafting Altar structure? I've done this a few times before but even following the book step by step I can't seem to get the altar to activate. I've tried Witchwood, Stone Brick, Brick, and Coal/Glass tops. This is all in the latest for 1.10.2. The structure doesn't seem to register on single or multiplayer, even tried redownloading, any help/ideas would be appreciated.
Edit: So after installing a huge modpack containing AM2 I found it works fine in the modpack, so after copying the mod version, forge version and even running it alone the Crafting Altar still doesn't work. Does AM2 have some hidden dependency/ies now?

Hey there. Small issue. I make a basic spell; projectile light. I use it to replace torches. However, my ars 2 light spell entities like to give off light at first, but once the chunk is unloaded and then reloaded, they no longer function. They are visible but no longer give off light. Have I missed something in a config.?
EDIT- GitHub response was that sponge likes to fight with hows Ars 2 does things. Hopefully rectified in next update.

Getting started in AM2 is quite simple to do.
First, you need to find a pool of liquid etherium:
Place an item frame within a few blocks of the pool, and put a book into the item frame, and watch the show.
This will give you the Arcane Compendium, which has everything you need to continue using the mod, from guides, to structures, to items, to bosses.
The Compendium by default is staged to unlock as you go - this can be turned off via config.
Keep in mind, the compendium doesn't limit progress, so even if something is locked, you can still craft and use it. Using and crafting items/blocks that you haven't yet unlocked will unlock them, as well as other items directly related to them.

There is a chance with any update that your save may get broken. Back up your world and configs, just in case! Also, be sure that you read the patch notes before upgrading! There may be special considerations.
A brief note about 1.7.2/1.7.10 - I do not guarantee complete stability! This is a late BETA version and may have problems. Of these, note that shrink doesn't reduce your viewport properly and thus is exploitable. On servers you may want to disable it. Also the Ender Boots do not properly flip your view. There may be others! You have been warned!
AM2 supports Optifine only in the main mods directory. It will not work if optifine is in a subdirectory. Move optifine there and it should work.
Note that disabling optifine by changing the extension to .disabled currently will not work - you need to move it out of the folder completely.

Ummm. there's a glitch where when i make a spell and hold it, it turns into a big pink square, is there a fix for this? cuz im planing on using this for a fairy tail roleplay of mine... please tell me there's a fix bc i tried deleting and reinstalling, but it didn't work +:mellow:

I have a more pertinent question. I was playing a 1.7.10 modpack (Tolkiencraft II) and really enjoying Ars Magica 2 until I maxed out my armor experience and infused my pants with the dispel ability. Then my game melted. So now I'm playing a 1.10.2 modpack (Sprout) and I'm wondering if I should stay away from the dispel ability. I mean... I love it in theory but if it makes my game unplayable it isn't so great.
Anyone have any insight? Was that a well-known bug and if so, was it fixed?
So... huh... I've built the crafting altar structure to both the current guidelines and the previous. I've built it out of witchwood and redstone(I tried Iron blocks too)
But when I trow a blank rune in it doesn't register? I'm using All the Mods 1.10.2 v3.01 which has Ars Magica 2 1.5.0-18
I've tried building an altar out of Purpur and Sunstone in Singleplayer as well to no effect... any ideas on how to solve this? I've tried breaking the crafting altar block a few times as well
Here are a couple of screenshots of my altar setup. I'm not sure why it is not working. I've tried moving the lectern and switch into every possible combination, and I'm not having any luck. I also tried with gold blocks, but no luck. Is there something I'm missing here?

1.10.2 version doesn't have everything the 1.7.10 version does right?

Shift-right click the lectern with an empty hand to get the book.
Will it be compatible with "Advent of Ascension" in the future?
Considering this mod is presently being worked on in 1.10.2, I don't believe so. Also, what is incompatible with it?

A shame all the work on this is only being done on 1.10.2. There's so many things that need to be addressed in the 1.7.10 version.

Hey guys,
I just tried creating a Projectile/Aoe/Pierce/Pierce(Shape) + Dig (Components) Spell in 1.10.2 (Creative Mode),
Version: ArsMagica2-1.10.2-1.5.0-18
I thought it would dig a 3*3*5 block, but it digged a 3*3*1 plus a 1*1*5 in the middle.
Since I have no advanced world at the moment, I can't check if this were due to creating the spell in creative or if the spell grammar changed.
Anyone got a clue what might have gone wrong here ?
I also tested Projectile/Pierce/Pierce/AoE + Dig , Projectile + Aoe / Pierce / Pierce / Dig and Projectile + Pierce /Pierce / AoE / Dig.
None of those worked like I would have expected ( digging a 3*3*5 block)
